trying some random pp that doesn't really seem to work. Anyway apart from the distracting upper right, and the lack of contrast on the girl's face due to the crappy reflection in the piano surface, any c&c?

managed to convince 2 of my friends to spend a morning with me trying in vain to take nice couple-looking shots. Here's one.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jun 7 2010, 11:51 PM) The girl's face like a bit overexposed oh? was trying a high contrast dreamy pp ... i guess I overdid it? Here's the original for comparison. QUOTE(goldfries @ Jun 7 2010, 11:52 PM) should've removed the metronome and the cloth on the piano. brb i go try something. lol I purposely put the metronome there, thought it might break the monotony @_@ ... I was trying to pp out the staircase/top right corner and clone it to all wall color, but my photoshop skillz is teh weak |

QUOTE(busyman @ Jun 8 2010, 10:11 AM) so reli no nid filter ar? so many people already say no need, still not convinced ah? cheap filters degrade image quality. if you want a good filter, you need to buy like Hoya HD --> almost rm200. you want to pay rm200 to protect an rm300 lens??? |

Well, I do know that body affects AF speed a lot (thought was only accuracy that would be affected). That time TT in ikea using uncle fisherman's 1d3 + 28-300mm L, lightning fast AF. Put on my 500D, shooting similar things in similar conditions the AF was slow and sluggish

@myjunk i can't remember where i read it, but apparently for perfect results either you use AF microadjustment, or you calibrate your entire arsenal i.e. body and all lens.
Something to do with tolerances e.g. if your camera front focuses +2, and your lens back focuses -2, then the combination of that cam+lens = perfect focus. But if you sent your cam in to calibrate, then canon calibrates it to 0, then suddenly now your cam + your lens not perfect anymore No idea how true that is lar, and I also can't find the link anymore. |

1st one the fork shouldn't be there, big distraction.
1st one 2nd try way overexposed. your fries and the pineapple the highlights all blown already. 2nd one dof too shallow, you don't even have a full prawn in focus. Dunno what your exif is but for me at 50mm (crop) I shoot f/4 wherever light allows, only go to a wider aperture if really dark. |

Hmmm ... one of you guys, I think it was either myjunk or azrinazz, posted quite a while back about a shop in BU area that you can print out photos on like a canvas-styly material, and it's wrapped around a frame ... something like that. What was the shop name ah?
[edit] I'm just looking to print some family photos, nothing fancy. Maybe 16R-ish size. This post has been edited by deodorant: Jun 25 2010, 06:29 PM |

@whoever wants to buy the cheap IR remote, be warned that you also likely can't trigger from the "left front" of the camera cos the lens will block the IR receiver on the cam.

QUOTE(cvr_kx3 @ Jun 30 2010, 09:06 PM) well i personally recomend 5dmk2 as i felt wasted when i bought 550D how can you recommend 5d2 when you haven't used one before? and like fruitie said, 5d2 is 3 times the price of 550d. that's like saying "hey dude, I think you shouldn't buy the proton saga for 40k, you should get a honda civic for 120k instead cos it's better." OH REALLY? I'll just magic the extra 80k out of thin air and buy the Civic instead! |
