I thought we have to pay extra RM 20 per month so it is RM 30/month extra for PVR. Can anyone confirm ?
*
for dual tuner pvr, compulsory service charge for recording function is RM10, HD fee is RM20/month

so if you take everything mentioned above, then yes RM30/month

if for byond pvr recording fuction only, then RM10/month

The explaination on why some programmes in FX HD is in 4:3 even you have see the same series in HD and sometimes not..
I think 4:3 mad man is actually in HD resolution, may be in 1440x1080i, it does not look SD in 576i resolution to me

Does anyone know whether the SD channel is clearer for this new HD dish when compared with old dish ?
I am thinking of upgrading to PVR but not adding the HD channels.

And also will there be less rain fade when compared with the old dish ?
*
SD channels are watchable in HDTV

if the installer has done a good job in aligning the new dish, you may have a slightly improvement in rain-fade problem, but the problem is still exist in heavy rain

I am not saying SD appear as HD. Our SD compression/lossy rate is very high for some channels.
*
if you are hoping to have a better video quality SD channels renderred by the byond HD box on HDTV, you will be dissapointed, better stick to your old astro box and CRT TV

someone have tried to improve on byond's SD channel picture qualty via component video connected to CRT TV

Just like Analog TV to Digital tv transtition. smile.gif
*
there is no transition yet , TV1,2,3 and the less are still business as usual

the countries that I known of who venture into total digital TV recently are USA and hong Kong

is it required a new decoder to get the PVR function? what if already a B.yond subscriber?
*
buy yourself a usb external drive specifically "WD my passport av 320GB", then pay monthly fee of RM5, then you can use your byond box to do recording

if you have max, you do not need to buy any TV to upgrade to byond PVR, max owner can get free upgrade to pvr, free monthly pvr fee of Rm10/month for 1 year, however you need to pay for RM20/month HD fee.
