f**k astro..randomly delete my recorded program on my PVR included WC Final and Upin/Ipin series for my children...
anyone experience this issue...

check your setting, read the response from TallJustin
QUOTE(TallJustin @ Jul 21 2010, 11:38 AM)
Your hard drive is full and your PVR is set to "Auto" which will delete the first recorded programmes so to free up space for the latest recorded programmes.

"Lock" the show in the planner section to keep it and change your PVR settings (Home>Settings>Your Settings) to Warning or Manual.

your channel 109 "@15" seems to have bad pixelation problem, you can check its signal condition, input 11182 V 30000 into custom entry point to check its transponder signal strength, my reading is 225, my channel 109 has no problem at all

however I do have some pixelation on discovery channel, I am suspecting that these new LNBs quality are very low, never had that problem using my old decoder with old dish

I also have sound problem in channel 314, the audio will sometime putus for a moment like jumping track when playing old vinyl record LOL, again never had that problem using old astro equipment rclxub.gif

we need more info so that we can debug for you, input 11182 V 30000 into your byond box and tell us your signal strength reading

also did you use new or old cable?

your signal quality for that particular transponder is really low, you suppose to have 100% signal quality

your dish seems to be shifted, did you touch your dish at all during these 7 months?

is your cable going directly from dish to decoder, or does it go through some sort of devices such as in-line amplifier or splitter?

what you can diy is re-tighten all the F-connectors, and if you are game enough re-align the dish yourself or ask astro authorised installer to re-align the dish for you, but you will have to pay them may be RM50

1. I use your setting for that.

2. No

3. Direct from dish > decoder

have you re-tighten all the F-connector, including the one on the LNB?

if still no help, you can rotate the LNB to get maximum signal, but mark the LNB position before making the adjustment either in clockwise or anti-clockwise rotation

Tonight I also got worst pixelate problem with 4 HD channels (573,575, 831,832). Cannot see anything among that channels.
All SD channel, AXN HD and FOX HD are ok.
Try to restart and adjust cable at back but still not fix the problem.  sad.gif

Anyone experience same problem?
*
are you using the new dish? Is your cable one piece without going through any splitter/cable joiner/ in-line amplifier? Have you re-tighten all the F-connectors?

I already use from the last year. This problem just happening yesterday.
If my in-line amplifier problem I think it will be involved all channel right?
But just that 4 HD channels are got problem.
*
I have experienced a 2 year old bad cabling that only affect cartoon channels LOL, change my cable and every channels come back to life

for DIY you can try to re tighten every F-connectors along the cable path

why do you need an in-line amp, do you have a very-very long cable run? hmm.gif

Yeah need long cable because dish is on the roof. Quiet weird, why cable problem only involved a few channel only  hmm.gif
*
rf theory that is a whole discipline of knowledge, my guess is that somehow bad contact attenuate certain frequency

you really do not need the amp unless you have 50m+ cable run, I am suspecting that your amp is going bad or F- connector contact problem

if your amp is located at the dish (an ideal location), it must be weather-proof to prevent rain damage

That amp inside my house. FYI, i got zero satellite signal when i change entry point to Measat 3A, but got full when i switch back to Measat 3.
Something wrong or just normal?
*
only transponder 15,17,18 show signal for my byond, all got 100% signal quality

amp should be near the source (ie. close to the LNB), if located at the other end, noises will also be amplified

my suggestion is to switch off byond power, disconnect amp, reconnect cable only and check your byond signal to see any improvement, this is to eliminate faulty amp

by compatible with Astro Byond do you mean schedule recording?

someone in lyn is selling media player with composite input, korean Telechips TCC8901 chipset, I think it can record SD video but obviously can't automatically change channel to do recording

This one can give HD recording features? I mean we can record and watch in HD?
But the guy said he doesnt know if it can be used with Byond or not..
I'm very noob in thingy sorry to say.. sad.gif
*
since the media payer has only composite video input, it can only record SD video, max resolution is 576i, as I understand byond has composite video out, so this player can record whatever video signal is output through byond composite video, byond will downgrade HD signal to SD signal when composite video out is used

you can even use capture card or usb stick together with your computer to capture SD video from any source with composite video output

for HD recording, I think you will need component video capture card team up with HDfury2(a device to convert HDMI HDCP protected signal to component video singal)

any recording device can record byond composite video output, unlike HDMI it is not protected, it is only SD resolution of 576i my guess is that it is not worth protecting, so far in the video industry composite video signal has never been encrypted

do you still have working VHS tape recorder? you can use it to record, or camcorder with video input, can also be used to record

LNB & dish position too. They fixed that. smile.gif The transponder no. didn't change at all.

I don't think LNB can be repaired on the spot, it got miniature circuit board and tiny surface mount components, it is easier to simply replace it with the new one brows.gif
