jerantut2011 Medufsaid alright, update time. already been 3 working days that i have no updates from RHB Singapore, so i decided to give them a call.

Bad news, account opening requires a valid work/ student/ dependent pass

Documents required as informed by the customer care officer.
- Passport
- Malaysian i.c
- Valid proof of address
and....
(repeat again) a valid work/ student/ dependent pass

You are required to bring all these physical documents to any RHB Singapore branch to be verified

welp...

RHB Singapore isn't opening doors to Malaysians

haha when i closed my dbs acct this year, the bank officer subtly hint that once i close, hard for me to reopen due to lack of "reasons" to be in sg... doesn't matter just close it. don't see a point in maintaining min balance

DBS My Account and DBS Multiplier Account (if opened online, can ask counter officer to do that) do not have minimum balance requirement.

Happy to share that I have successfully opened my OCBC Singapore account with just my IC and Passport.

The process of applying through the app is a bit a pain in the ass, as needs to do several times for the app to accept my IC. Tips, the ic can be slightly outside the rectangle.
Tried about 10 times but the IC scan doesn't work.. maybe my phone camera too lousy..

Edit: tried it another 5 times and finally... stroke of luck.. it finally passed...

Also, an update on Maybank SG CASA online opening promotion, now you can open a different account from iSavvy, which is the SaveUp account. Promotion is, deposit $50k for 4 months locked in period, and get $400...

Get the phone as close as possible to the ic.

It's fine for the ic to slightly exceed the rectangle.

Nothing to do with RHB Singapore not opening doors 🤦‍♀️ it is MAS requirements to fulfill residency status and to prevent money laundering in Singapore

i think it solely depends on the bank, CIMB, Maybank and now OCBC are allowing Malaysians to sign-up, they definitely have measures in place, they just close your account without notice and refund you the money is anything suspicious/ unacceptable behavior is found by them

I just apply online Maybank SG iSAVvy Savings Account just now.

22 Aug 10.54am
I receive SMS containing PIN for signup and email from Maybank

I suddenly run into trouble

SMS from Maybank

Its a 6 digit PIN

Email From Maybank with attachment with my Access details:
I only received SMS 6 digit PIN. I used the PIN and try to open the attached file from Maybank email, but it shows invalid password.
*
My application went thru this week, after the aproval SMS and emails containing the 2 passwords, already deposited S$500 to tje iSAVvy acct? Its easier and less hassle to transfer online from a Malaysian Maybank acct.

i think the ocbc app developer is crossing the line already. I mean the scan IC issues.

someone need to educate this stupid developer, that the app already read data from e-Passport with NFC chip that is read only and tampered proof!!!!

Super2047 are you willing to call CIMB sg to find out? i really can't find info on this. FastSaver & StarSaver seems to also require that you bank-in via SG's DuitNow or through CIMB MY so some online steps still required

From what I know application is online. If you are visiting Singapore, go for DBS Vickers and DBS my account. It's superior to CIMB account. Condition to get DBS account, must open DBS Vickers. Can only be done at MBFC.

Officially said you need employment pass/study pass. Unofficially can open. Just need to ask them nicely/beg.
