Called Maybank SG today. Luckily all "stolen" money has been refunded!

You can close your Maybank SG account from any branch within SG, no need to go to the HQ in Marina Bay. Just bring along passport, Malaysia IC, and the debit card issued by Maybank.
*
Good, also, are you planning to travel to Singapore just for the purpose of closing the account? If yes, it'll be the same as taking the recovered funds and spending it again, this time for yourself

Hate to break it to you, dude. Moomoo isn't allowing Malaysians to open an account with them, explicitly mentioned in the app

I got moomoo sg. Using heir cash plus to park my SGD. Until all my dividends come in then one shot transfer to IBKR.

Get DBS. Forget ocbc. Ocbc need to keep SGD3k. Unless I am outdated. Haha...
*
You can open a "Monthly Savings Account" minimum of SGD $500 needed before a fall below fee is charged every month

My DBS no need SGD500. I keep only SGD0.10 inside.

i've been following your posts, you said opening up a DBS account, the employees will kinda force you to open Vickers, and if not mistaken, you mentioned a minimum of SGD $30,000 is needed.

i'm not sure, but i don't mind keeping some cash in the accounts, the cheapest is Maybank Singapore Ar-Rihla account

only need $200 minimum balance

I am exploring the banks that allows Malaysians to open an account with them that's fully digital (without requiring the need of visiting the physical branch), i stumbled across RHB Bank Singapore, i've already submitted the documents via the RHB SG app and will wait for any follow ups on the weekdays.

RHB High Yield Savings Plus Account, up to 2% p.a

Deposit Balance Amount

- Initial deposit of SGD $1,000 needed
- NO Fall below fees
- Able to leave SGD $0 in the account, but i will leave at least SGD $20 (courtesy, in a way)

Interest Rates (p.a.)

First $50,000 (1.50%)

Next $25,000 (1.60%)

Next $25,000 (1.80%)

Above $100,000 (2.00%)

Before Maybank & OCBC Singapore allowed Malaysians to have an account with them (fully digital), i saw that RHB SG kinda allowed a digital experience to open an account, but the roadblock was that you'll need to visit their physical branches to complete the K.Y.C by submitting any form of F.I.N (S-Pass, EP, Student Pass). Since, i have none of those, i abandoned RHB SG, they even sent a follow up email reminding me to visit any of their branches to complete the K.Y.C, but i ignored it and the application has since been cancelled.

*Don't think RHB SG offers any Debit Cards, so pair up with Maybank SG/ OCBC SG or CIMB SG (i think CIMB SG offers Debit cards for $10 SGD), do a FAST transfer to yourself to the accounts with debit cards to get access to cash (OCBC Pay AnyOne app allows cashless withdrawals, no debit card needed) or use PayNow (eWallet) to pay to those who accepts it.

**Will update if RHB SG allows a fully digital experience of account opening, if there are no updates from me, just assume that they need customers to visit their physical branches to complete the K.Y.C by submitting any form of F.I.N (S-Pass, EP, Student Pass)

RHB Bank SG Account Opening Documents Required:

- Malaysian NRIC
- Bank Statement (dated within the last 3 months)
- A photo of your signature (just sign on a piece of white blank paper, the app will have a section for you to take a photo of it and upload)

You WILL NOT receive any confirmation email that your application is pending, but..... the app does give false hopes in a way that it will allow you to create a username and login PIN

*False hopes, don't know why the bank allows you to create an account even though you're just in the midst of having your application processed

Any good news from RHB Singapore?
*
It's still pending review, even it is mentioned that Singaporeans are super efficient, i still think any opening of bank accounts especially done digitally, give it at least 3 working days or more.

haha o.k i go transfer my 500 to the MY AC then close the poems.

my MBB i close it long long time ago.

Why close the accounts? Having an account there allows you to diversify your assets, if not, just park in for example

- Syfe Cash
- Endowus Cash
- CIMB SG (3.5% interest p.a)

jerantut2011 Medufsaid alright, update time. already been 3 working days that i have no updates from RHB Singapore, so i decided to give them a call.

Bad news, account opening requires a valid work/ student/ dependent pass

Documents required as informed by the customer care officer.
- Passport
- Malaysian i.c
- Valid proof of address
and....
(repeat again) a valid work/ student/ dependent pass

You are required to bring all these physical documents to any RHB Singapore branch to be verified

welp...

RHB Singapore isn't opening doors to Malaysians

Nothing to do with RHB Singapore not opening doors 🤦‍♀️ it is MAS requirements to fulfill residency status and to prevent money laundering in Singapore
*
i think it solely depends on the bank, CIMB, Maybank and now OCBC are allowing Malaysians to sign-up, they definitely have measures in place, they just close your account without notice and refund you the money is anything suspicious/ unacceptable behavior is found by them

Anyone can enlighten me why should one open all three banks that Malaysians can open without Singpass for the time being?

i find that
- OCBC SG &
- Maybank Ar-Rihla Savings

is enough.

CIMB doesn't offer stuff apart from 3.5% p.a savings rate and zero minimum balance, but doesn't offer debit card and for features, OCBC SG is the main one with full features.

While, Maybank offers a debit card that is mailed to your doorstep so that allows one to withdraw cash via atm5 network (very convenient), purchases and as SimplyGO Bank card for MRTs/ buses.

Walking pass that only CIMB branch feels depressing.

*p.s best is to have 2 local Singaporean banks, like a pairing of DBS with OCBC, UOB with OCBC, etc...

CIMB SGD->MYR rate is better than midvalley. rugi tak buka. just remember to set daily limit to RM100k if you need to transfer that much in case of emergency.
I use StashAway SG simple so I don't have to deal with CIMB's weird FD mechanism

I'll pick MBB sg in case i want CDP Acct. What unique feature does OCBC sg have, assuming i already have CIMB+MBB? seems like only thing for now is referral bonus
*
You can open a CDP account if you already have a Singaporean bank account, i opened mine by myself, they just need a Singaporean bank account with proof by providing a bank statement.

OCBC SG seems full fledged, i know fees are off the roof if you're using OCBC to invest, but they sure do have options, like:

Purchasing
- T-Bills
- Government Savings Bonds
- Blue Chip stocks
- ETFs

and Money Lock, separate vault only accessible via teller/ counter @ measly 1.8% p.a

Hi, I've received the email stating that the CIMB Account has been activated.

Does the SMS for the activation code comes along immediately, or later on?

I'm assuming there is a SMS activation code for use during Clicks SG registration.

Thank you.

Yes, this is the one. Roughly 3 weeks since application date.

To the previous post also asking, with regards to your email stating "your account number..top right". Still long way to go. That's the first email informing you your account number for your initial funding.
