no i ask my friend to transfer 1k from singapore directly. (any third party account)
only transfer SDG 10 from CIMBclicks to connect the line. ( the sales person say we can just transfer min SDG 1)

It's possible but there is a handling fee of 1.5%. This fee applies to cash deposit as well as cash withdrawal in any currency other than Singapore Dollar.

There are however, ways of getting around it. Like when you withdraw from HSBC UK ATM in either Pound Sterling or Euro from your Everyday Global Account. And cash withdrawal at HSBC Group ATM worldwide is free of charge for all HSBC Premier/Jade/Private Banking clients.

Another way is to withdraw the foreign currency at HSBC Hong Kong. For this you must also be a HSBC Hong Kong client.

Thank for the input.

Just to clarify, i have a china hsbc premier debit card, and my account has EUR account.
If I am in Germany for instance, I find a hsbc atm and put my china hsbc debit card, i can withdraw my EUR in cash from my EUR account without fees, is this what you mean?

In china, i can withdraw EUR over the counter without any fee in cash. Which is very nice.
It appears not many countries can do this, even if you hold the origin country premier account.

Yes. Provided your debit card allows you to debit from your EUR account.

may i know your chronology?

1. I applied on aug 28.
2. get email about the application, got the account number.
3. I proceed to link sg account from cimb clicks Malaysia.
4. i didn't receive any call. I'm waiting for the activation code to register cimb clicks sg.
5. still nothing till today.
6. i proceed to transfer 5sgd from my to sg for test to see if my account is "active". It was successful. I did it a few hours ago.

what did you do before you receive the call?
still waiting for the call. a bit reluctant to transfer sgd1k straight unless told so that i need to do it before i get my sg clicks activation code.

You mentioned you received the email right? Inside should have mentioned you need to fund your account for account activation. The email also stated the clicks activation code will be sent AFTER account is activated.

yeah. seems to indicate so in the email.
but its different from what my wife experience is last year. she got a phone call and ask her to transfer before getting the activation code.
so i thought of asking.

hopefully Koranshita can confirm too. i don't have issue with that. just better to seek clarity.
since I'll be asking my contact in sg to transfer the sgd1k

thanks for your response too.

if you want to wait for CS to call you for the transaction, you can always initiate a call/mail to confirm
https://www.cimb.com.sg/en/personal/help-su...contact-us.html

But i suggest you can go ahead transferring your money, as the steps have been described clearly in the email/page. Worse case scenario(which is unlikely), if they declined your account application, the money will be refunded to MY acc.

The call is most asking to verify before approve your account. If it's already shown in cimbclick and you are able to transfer the min to that account. No call not much of issue

Anyhow, I transfer the 1k even before they call me. Lol I straight bank in using 3rd party platform once I got the email and account number.
