Bro,... what I meant to say was... if you had gone in back 3 to 4 years ago,... or even 10 years ago,...you can go in directly to any branch in SG and open an account,..

ah 10 years ago it was that breeze... biggrin.gif

but true la. if compare now and then, differently it's harder to complete the application due to *sudden* T&C keep popping out each year. hmm.gif

I want to ask if I open an isavvy account, can I make the withdrawal in malaysia? If I were to withdraw, it will be converted to ringgit?

Thanks for all the info given here. I managed to go to Maybank Subang Jaya last week to apply for the iSavvy Savings Account there.

It seemed that the form in the maybank2u website is old form. You can get a copy of the new form from the bank officer. Please ensure that the form you have is May 2015 form.....not the Sep 2011 form that is listed in their website. You can see the date on the bottom right hand corner of the form.

No, it's a simple process. It was tedious in my case coz the info counter personnel & officer insisted that I have to print the form online myself but they had no idea that the form online is outdated. Here are tips for you......

1) Call the bank branch that you want to go to & find out who is the officer in charge of S$ iSavvy Savings Account.

2) Bring along your income tax number. (Requirement due to FATCA)

3) Ask to see the officer at the info counter. For MBB Subang Jaya, you don't have to take queue number.
(Don't give any more details to info counter. They may give you wrong info...from my experience mad.gif )

4) Get the form from the officer. If officer ask you to print online, you tell him that the form available online in MBB M'sia website is outdated. If he ask you to print from MBB S'pore website, tell him that your friend has called MBB S'pore & they inform must get the form from MBB M'sia.

5) Give the IC to the officer. He will photocopy your IC & chop on the photocopied IC.

6) Fill up the form with full particulars.
(Important : ensure your residential address is the same as per your IC address or your application may get rejected)

Don't know why it takes you 3 months. By 3 weeks or 1 month, can call up Maybank SG to enquire status of application.

Really? hmm.gif That's not what my bank officer told me. He said it will take about one month. I only need to deposit a min of SGD500 after the bank account is open

Hi guys..
Many are interested to open trading account in singapore and i am one of them..I made few call to DBS bank in singapore before making a trip to there..It is quite simple actually and I shouldn't take too long before making a trip to see the officers.

I took a bus from Perak and the last destination in Singapore is at beach road. From beach road I took a taxi to DBS bank and the charge was only sd 10.00 about rm 30.00.

Unfortunately I did not bring my income tax form so I couldn't open saving and trading acc with DBS bank that day..the officers told me everything will subject to management approval. It is not confirm the accounts can be opened unless we work there and reside in Singapore.

I went again to singapore this week ..this time i drove there and
the cost much higher compare to taking a bus there..a lot of charges and parking lots is very limited there..this time i went to maybank kim eng at suntec city to open prefunded account. The officer was very helpful and I managed to settle everything within 20 minutes..they will courier me the documents in 3 weeks time.

No charges was imposed to me to open prefunded account with maybank kim eng..it was a worth trip for me and I enjoy the city environment of singapore.i advise to those who want to open trading account in singapore just go there by bus.it is cheap where if from kl to singapore two ways it is just about rm120 .

I will update once get response from maybank kim eng.

Take bus from JB sentral CIQ. It will stop at Woodlands station. From there, use their MRT to move around. It's cheaper to use their NEXT/ez-link card (their TNG) to pay rather than cash. Very cheap the price when compare to our KTM/LRT (few cent only from north to south part of the island).
