as far as i know, there are 5 types of Honda oil filter..

1. HAMP made in Thailand (widely used at Honda SC)

2. HAMP made in USA (made by Filtech Inc.)

3. Blue colour one with Honda logo (made by Toro Yoki Mfg. Co. Japan)

4. Blue colour one with Honda logo (made in USA by Filtech Inc.)

Fyi, Filtech Inc. was established by Toro Yoki Mfg. Co.

5. Blue colour one with Honda logo (made by Honda Japan)

then?
fyi. not all blue colour with honda logo come from honda japan..
and the most cheap filter in the market is blue colour.. if u used mineral, blue colour is ok.. but not for fully synthetic.
green hamp thailand RM14 at sparepart shop.. green hamp usa with box RM29 at sparepart shop.. blue colour Rm3 for foreman price

HAMP from Japan also made by Toyoroki..

but is has less filtration material than the blue one..

i guess the difference is only marginal..

saying the blue filter is cap ayam in general is not correct, coz some Honda SC will use the blue filter once the free service coupon is finished coz they charge more for original blue filter..

maybe there is some cap ayam filter out there that is claimed to be original Honda & in blue colour..

therefore, there is a possibility for some of the green one to be cap ayam as well..

ok la i tell u little bit i know from oil manufacturer itself..

Introducing Japan Honda's aftermarket line of automotive products..."HAMP Synergy". HAMP Synergy are aftermarket products designed by Honda and are a step up from the "Honda Original Parts" products. Not meant to compete with racing produts, however, these peices are quality. means like RACING identity from honda lor. The HAMP filter can be used on any Honda, but was specifically designed for use in the Type-R and S series cars in mind. Features include a unique release valve that dynamically adjusts to the conditions within the filter to keep the oil flow and pressure constant. The HAMP oil filter will last longer and filter better than any of the oil filters currently on the market. therefore it will be recommended to used Hamp if u used fully syn and semi.. if mineral ok la if u want to used OEM oil filter or other cap ayam oil filter..

Honda Hamp USA > Honda Hamp Thai or Toyo Roki Green Hamp from Japan.. u also can differentiate with the price..

actually it was up to us to what kind of oil filter.. u have money u go for good oil filter and fully syn.. if not , mineral and cap ayam oil filter also ok.. the engine still running with no problem but u cant get same performance and long term issues la.. if u are lucky, there is no long term issues..

thats it.. mahu pg makan..

Brand: Q8 Excel
Oil Type : 5-40 fully Synthetic
Price : RM165
My Thoughts : Excellent durability and revving all through its lifespan. I change my engine oil at 5000 KM. Good cleansing properties and reduce tappet sound (If tappet sound too loud need to go and adjust)
Car : Wira 4G15
Rating : 4/5

Brand: Sumo Racing R1
Oil Type : 5-40 Fully Synthetic
Price : RM180
My Thoughts : Was curious of this brand. Engine felt a bit coarser and tappet sounds a bit louder even after adjustment. Smoothness deteriorates at 5000KM mark. Not recommended.
Car : Wira 4G15
Rating : 3/5

Brand: Mobil 1
Oil Type : 5-50 Fully Synthetic
Price : RM149 (Carrefour) | rm189(bulk buy)
My Thoughts : One of the best oils I have tried. Excellent lubricity and oil break down is very minimal at the 5000km mark as shown by the way it flows when draining the oil. Expensive though. I guess AMG, Porsche and Nissan (GTR) chose this oil as their standard recommended lube based on its excellent performance that I can vouch for.
Car : Wira 4G15
Rating : 4/5

Brand: Penzoil Platinum
Oil Type : 5-40 Fully Synthetic
Price : RM135
My Thoughts : One of the best value for money fully synthetic oil on the market. Great cleansing abilities and excellent lubricity. Highly recommended as I've been using this regularlly.
Car : Wira 4G15
Rating : 4/5

Just want to share my thoughts,
There is a quick way to find out if the oil quality is really good or not compare to those local cheap blend oil...check the oil for OEM car standard like MB, BMW and so ,,which you will find on Mobil fully sync or Shell fully sync..if people tell you their oil brand is much better dont believe them it wont make your car fly!

regarding liqui moly , i have seen a few workshops that does conti cars ( bmws especially) that swears by this brand ..
how ah ?

Added on July 7, 2011, 7:33 pmaccording to here :
http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbth...&Number=1594599

SL and SM , the difference is in reducing certain antiwear addictive as that might effect the cat-con

and if you refer to here :
http://sas-origin.onstreammedia.com/origin...p/pc/index.html

and u click on the api folder and select sl and sm, u might notice that the
piston deposit is higher for sm as compared to sl with almost everything else remains the same performance ...
I guess, thats why they say that SM is made for the modern engine, its actually made to ensure that the cat con doesnt get killed . ( though im not sure how since if ur black oil is burning and goes through the exhaust... u should look into fixing it... )

Liqui moly mos2 10w-40 vs. Shell helix h5 15w-40.
so far, liqui moly really impres me.
Less engine vibration
less engine noise
good fc (finally, 6++km) before 5++km

will try eneos for the next change.

Regarding liqui moly joining with comp, you can google it. Plz dont give wrong info.
Fyi, I'm not liqui moly seller.
Thanks.
