to copy contacts from a nokia phone running on symbian is rather simple.

1. mark all your contacts in your nokia phone, press option->copy->to memory card
2. copy all the .vcf files from sdcard:\others\contacts to a new folder in the root of your desire sd card
3. in your desire, go to people and press menu->import/export->import from sd card->import all

Just went to Pyramid maxis store, thinking of play play with the phone a bit, but seems like no sample sets to try on...

I have another question, let say we download sms application, how do we set to use just that as our primary? Im having problems having redundant alert, the apps and htc sms alert

I had the same problem after using Handcent. In the settings, you should find an option for Notifications. Just uncheck it. After that, you'll only recieve notifications from handcent only.

i 1st time using android.. so still blur+ing
when u open the phone it will automatic showing "weather effect" right?

Just got my Desire this evening at KLCC ard 8 something. Still manage to get the car charger as free gift so i guess there are still stocks available.

Anyone been to any shop that sells accessories for Desire? Any recommended shop to visit in low yat or digital mall maybe?

Download a music app like meridian or something else. When choosing a ringtone in Settings, it will ask you to open using the installed music app.

for custom ringtones
create and save mp3 etc file into folder

SDcard > Media > Audio > Ringtones
SDcard > Media > Audio > Alarms
SDcard > Media > Audio > Notification
SDcard > Media > Audio > Music
then restart

Maps for example use a lot of data, everytime i open GPS and maps to see my current location, 2-3mb will be used because have to load maps which need to be downloaded from the net. Youtube is another one which consume alot of data, a 3-4mintues high quality clip will be 5-10mb size.And everytime you want to repeat the same video, it will donwload again and use the same data. Viewing photo album on FB also use a lot of data. To minimize data during internet surfing, try to use the mobile version instead of the full site version. Definitely save a lot of data.
