Hi all
I am planning to buy a macbook pro..I was wondering should I buy it here or singapore since I will be going there...would it be better to buy it here or there?like in term of price, warranty and so on?I was told that singapore is having some mac book promotion thingy, anyone have detail regarding it?

Thanks!

i3 is not a ULV. it just doesn't have the turbo boost like i5.
GT420m not at 5650 level la... the GT425 = GT335
and the GT335 is right below the 5650.
*
doch....gt420 offers 96 shaders and a 128 Bit memory bus for DDR3 which already outnumbered gt335 by 30% in terms of shaders/pipeline

gt420 is using new architecture so its nt comparable with the older version (gt320 or even 330)

although benchmark shows that 420 lies between 330 and 335 but with its raw performance, it will outperform 335 in the next driver update.

the relationship of 420 to 335 is just like 335 to 330. which 335 outnumber 330 in term of shaders too but 335 clock was too low. actually 330 memory bus was underclocked too....damn nvidea. anyway, my point is, 420 will be stronger because the chip itself offers stronger spec.

well, take 1080p if you have your movies in 1080p or 720p. lower than that, it makes the video horrible. And what level of movie freak? cause if you're those that has a 5.1 or 7.1 surround system, or those 5.1/7.1 headphones, you better check if you need a audio card like a soundblaster.... (if its headphones usually it has its own soundcard attached to the headphones) and imo, HD LED just looks brighter. the colours are alot more vivid as far as i can tell. So its up to you whether you want it. I'm fine without it.

And one more thing to consider, you might wanna think about getting a 3D capable one just in case, like the G51JV-3D (if you believe 3D is the future.)

1080p indicated the resolution of the screen. And p means progessive scan. Cause there are two types, i and p (interlaced and progressive) Thus 1080i or 1080p. Generally p is the standart one (because its better)
So 1080p = 1920 x 1080 reso. i.e full HD. Most laptops would say FullHD screen. The keyword is Full cause just HD = 720p

if you look at dell's website for the studio laptops... both studio 15 and sxps writes FullHD, while studio 14 says HD screen. Normal laptops only have HD screens, so their resolutions is around 1366 x 768. (especially 14") Its 15.6" laptops that start to come with FullHD displays.

1. Brand - dell, hp, lenovo or any good brand
2. Budget - 1.5k ( or max less than RM2k)
3. Specs - mobility, long battery life, emails, editing microsoft office and running citrix. In short, something which i can put on my lap and do work. Now i have a 14 inch hp but it is rather big for me to bring outstation and i get tired often.
4. Size - less than 2.5 kg and less than 14 inch (no netbook)

Guys, my spec is as above.

I found this Dell Inspirion M101z which is about 11 inch (link below).

http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/p...s=dhs&cs=mydhs1

But i don't know the processor performance.

Is there much difference?

Thanks!!
