win7 is available at almost all computer shops. for drivers you could download from asus official websites or go to service centre and they will do the same thing for you. =.=

danial, we are not selling laptops, you need to go lowyat plaza or garage sales.

14 inch and 15 inch, its basically personal preference, recommend you to try it yourself at computer shop as that matters the most.

Someone on the forum said that Acer 4820TG with HD 5650 is already on the market, that would probably be a better option for that category.
*
not to mention acer 4741g with gt420m coming in anytime, pawn both machine in raw performance but still battery life is at 4820 favor

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Sep 13 2010, 04:32 PM)
yea, the Intel P8700 is better than the AMD P320, but the Asus laptop is newer and supports Dx11 la....
*
dx11 wont give much difference in low end product. if side by side compare both machine in gaming performance, s42 should win...

QUOTE(ammarsweil @ Sep 13 2010, 04:36 PM)
but the compaq cq42-268tx have i3 350m. is it better than those processor in asus a42dr?
*
i3 is ulv if im not outdated.

i3 is not a ULV. it just doesn't have the turbo boost like i5.
GT420m not at 5650 level la... the GT425 = GT335
and the GT335 is right below the 5650.
*
doch....gt420 offers 96 shaders and a 128 Bit memory bus for DDR3 which already outnumbered gt335 by 30% in terms of shaders/pipeline

gt420 is using new architecture so its nt comparable with the older version (gt320 or even 330)

although benchmark shows that 420 lies between 330 and 335 but with its raw performance, it will outperform 335 in the next driver update.

the relationship of 420 to 335 is just like 335 to 330. which 335 outnumber 330 in term of shaders too but 335 clock was too low. actually 330 memory bus was underclocked too....damn nvidea. anyway, my point is, 420 will be stronger because the chip itself offers stronger spec.

diff shop diff price, but malaysia price sure way way more expensive than import from USA. but then, some ppl or some parents prefer to buy at shop. cuz from traditional view, its safer, you can communicate with human, and blame a physical shop when you are not happy. its human sense.

the diff is like rm8k to rm5k

thx kae7 for explaining my words. i kinda f***ed up my sentence there lol...but its the same meaning.

seducer, pls note 8h battery is not on hd5650, its only when u turn it off. but then, even u turn 5650 on, you can have a lot more battery life compare to 2.5h of 4741g.

m11x is dell laptop, isnt famous for durability, quite alot of complain BUT after sales service + best warranty package can give you 'peace of mind'

depends what kind of ppl u r. dun mind go service centre many times bcuz its free. or want a damn durable brand that will relatively have less issue. etc. fujitsu, thinkpadX, toshiba...

Added on September 18, 2010, 12:45 amim talking in general, dun flame for saying all brand have faulty laptops....lets talk about ratio.

vaio Z comes with gt330m. not to mention Fujitsu i7 13s are very good too. and if u want to safe rm2k, get acer 3820 lol....

but then, your description fits vaio Z carbon fibre perfectly. 13 inch, light, power house, carbon fibre, battery life, class, durable.

-nokotta asus 42jv or acer timelinex 4820gt

Added on September 19, 2010, 8:17 pmand 4741g also

its good enough for normal usage but not really into multitasking because the CPU is poor. so now its down to, whats multitasking to you. it cant run a lot of programs at one time and its easier to lag. although its lighter, cooler, less power consumption (more battery).

screen size, weight and battery life expectation makes a bigger role for us to recommend you a laptop. no gaming = win. u can get btr battery life and less heat less weight out of it =D or even stretch to, like you said. MBP13 =D but seriously i would only consider MBP 15 and above as MBP 13 is using core 2 duo.

+1 for toshiba portage. or if you could top up abit to sony vaio S, fujitsu SH series. im not sure about the price tho.......but i do highly recommend you NOT to take those with high end GPU or just pick the laptop with the strongest GPU within your budget. as the higher the GPU is, the hotter it is, and shorter lifespan too. portege hits ur sweet spot i think. or acer timelineX 3820gt from singapore. other than that, dell latitude 13incher, sony, fujitsu 13 inchers. these are what you should be opting for as they provides more quality than horse power.
