instead of rushing in to buy a cooler...check to see if it matches your laptop vents..but the infinite cooler should be a safe all rounder type

hi all, i went to survey today

Acer 4741G, i5 450M + Nvidia 310M, 3 years warranty@RM2299

is it true that the acer screen looks a bit dark compared to inspiron 14 R and toshiba satelite even though it has Nvidia?

and i think Acer 5741 with larger screeen looks so attractive to me..

In short,

Budget: <2500
Brand: Acer/dell/vaio EA22/toshiba
waranty : 3 years
spec: actually if i dont play games, do i really need i5?

im now quite confused and dunno how to decide.... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

well, actually if you're getting the A42Dr, you need to buy an OS, so its gonna add around RM200? to your price...

imo acer screen looks bright enough for me, its averaging 200 nits (which is the average)
on whether to get an i5, depends on your usage, if you're using editing videos/photos, i.e photoshop or After effects, its better to get an i5. And if i5 falls into your budget, might as well get it. more Power is better than no power.

Getting Win7 wouldn't be a problem as those drivers are quite easy to get on the web. smile.gif

win7 is available at almost all computer shops. for drivers you could download from asus official websites or go to service centre and they will do the same thing for you. =.=

I'm looking to buy new laptop after this Hari Raya holiday...

After reading the past posts, I think Asus A42jv is suit me my budget and requirement...

I also notice that A52JC offer such a same specification with 640g HDD and 15" screen size..hmm...I wonder if 15" is too big for personal use or not? The normal laptop use 14" right? I mean is it most of you will choose 14 instead of 15...

One more thing, I want to go to lowyat for the next few weeks (maybe end of september) to buy this laptop...any suggestion for the better place to get this laptop at better price? hmm.gif I'm not familiar with LYP... icon_question.gif

when it comes to gaming... GPU plays the most important role..

anyway.. you question isnt so clear..
there are i7 dual core which is high clocked.. --preferable in gaming as it is high clock...
but well.. for i7 quad.. there are also games that fully utilized quad core in i7 quad.. such as RE5 which is very good...

well.. if you really gaming.. choosing high clocked dual core is enough.. now.. high clocked dual core is i7 620M ..[yes it is i7] ..

but if you choose for the future[maybe upcoming games can fully utilize quad core in i7 quad]... go for i7
