ah.. finally i saw somebody coming to creative faculty too!

Gavin! i need some info here, what are we suppose to bring during the orientation?

from the list we suppose to bring:
>long black pants
>bed cover
>pillow cover
>blanket
>sports wear.

im quite confused shud we bring other thing such as pc/laptop etc?
or.. during the orientation, just need those listed above since if im not mistaken.. class will not start during the orientation day right?

my registration paper here written that the orientation will start from 31 of May until 4 June 2010. can i ask what time it will start since i'll be coming with my parent and i do need to know what should i do after i arrive there?

+ what should i bring there? already pay and submit all thing, the miss from the registration office just asked me to attend the orientation day. just in case ill ask Gavin again regarding this since my house is.. quite far from MMU cyberjaya IF need to go back take things and come back again  cry.gif
straight away wear formal attires? or just casual? o.o

PC/laptop is up to u want to bring or not. if u are staying somewhere around campus then why not bring along. U will need the computers to do ur assignments and etc during classes. on 30th is the registration. after that, u will need to come back in the afternoon for briefing of whats gonna happen for the week. Then orientation will start on monday until friday. class will start on 7th which is on monday.

Hence, as for ur parents, they have a few options

Option 1 is what normal parents do when wana send their 2nd child and etc. This is because they have experience already and they will not stay. Normally this group will just drop their kid off and maybe leaving on monday for work.

But option 2 is really carring parents (but i dont know why they seemed so free). They will spend the whole week with their kid during the orientation but i does not see it as practical. The parent need to wait until the kid finally finish orientation then keep on bringing their kids out. During orientation, students are not allowed to leave MMU. This is because, it is our responsibility to assure ur safety. Hence, during lunch, some parents will keep on bugging us want to bring their kid out for lunch and etc. But the answer from me is usually a NO! I mean, once send the kid to uni, is the child him/herself need to survive the uni life. During orientation is the time, students will get together and know each other better. And that friendship last until the student grad and might be still in touch until work...

The option i would usually recommend is, tell ur dad/ mom have leave on monday. (if possible). Then, they can help u get what u need on sunday after registration and briefing. And on monday they can go back. Maybe ur parents will need to spend night. But if cannot take leave, then is ok too. Just tell them to leave at night after u fianlly settle everything.

Take note... If u are staying at places such as cyber ria, u need to bring ur things from ur house and transfer them to ur new house after registration. Then after orientation, u can go back on saturday and come back on sunday to continue bringing ur things. Like for me, I am originally from shah alam and i need to study at melaka. Luck me, my family have quite a number of cars and i can transfer all my things including new bed, cupboard and etc.

During registration, u may wear casual. but during briefing (if can wear formal). But during orientation is strictly formal..

Don't forget to say hello to me once you see me in CyberTracker. icon_rolleyes.gif
Its call ratio, you don't need to upload anything to maintain your ratio. Its a torrent based, so if you seed (leaving your Torrent client on so others can download the file from you) its counted as upload too.
Download 1GB, Seed 1GB and your ratio will maintain at 1.00
You'll only not allow to download when your ratio is at 0.2 (which is super easy to maintain even if you're seeding from Labs)

If you're a hot girl who are willing to go for a date with me, don't bother about your ratio. I can make it 100.00 just for you. wub.gif

CyberTracker is a website (intranet) and it is NOT part of MMU Cyberjaya. It is being handled and maintained all by students thus you won't find it in MMU website.
You won't be able to access it until we (degree students) come back to campus which is around June 6th.

We should stop talking about CyberTracker as this is educational essential thread. sweat.gif

Actually, there is one time a guy in FIT got saman due to long hair. It was an unlucky day for him as he was there when the security suddenly become "rajin". But the probability that you will is 1 in 1,000,000 biggrin.gif

But as you said, its no more secondary school. I've seen my classmate in a GREEN hair, just like what you may see in Anime. Lecturers just make fun of him for a few times but no saman at all.

yes, after registration and have briefing.
U may go back and return back to MMU on 31st may. No prob too..

U wont be able to settle the room so fast. I mean, in one day. Maybe after orientation, u pack up ur things little by little?
haha.

Ok, lets make this clear. If u ask me, of course I will encourage each and everyone to join the orientation. Not only u have paid "some amount" in the RM1.8K. But also for u to know how MMU runs. Basically, in MMU, everything is using computer. From course registration until download ur lecture notes. So, orientation allows u to handle everything. I dont see why people do not want to come. I see it like, commit yourself for 5 days and u will survive for 4 years at least.

It is ur call, to come or not to come, but u make sure there is people to help u to register course online (the most important).
So, I would recomend u to stay after registrationa and make sure u settle ur accomodation first. Thats the important one.

there are dress code to follow. BUt it depends. I have seen ppl dye their hair purple and etc. and the hair super punk. But did not kena anything. just to share, me and the head of security and campus director wanted to go out and have lunch. Then on the way, Major Anba stoped a student (international student) and told her, why her hair is like this. In front of me and the rest of the staff, she told, (sir, I am thinking with my head, not with my hair. So, i do not see it as a problem. With that sentence, she walk away and I laughed). Then as usual, the management will condemn me and other SRC for not having enough awareness. lolx.

I got friends who live with other races during their very first semester in MMU. But the basic idea is one room will have the same race as its more convenient that way. The next semester, you want to change your roomate so all chinese, malay, india, kadazan, dayak, penan and others are all together within the same room, its up to you.
