Pray that you have a nice room-mate, borrow her laptop and check for announcement, etc everytime before you go to class.
Coz all announcement are made through MMLS (multimedia learning system) which you'll know more during orientation. Remember, almost 90% are digital. |

QUOTE(peachie-momo @ May 22 2010, 01:04 PM) i hope i'm not making a wrong choice by getting a desktop instead of a notebook xDcos my acer burnt already. =.= either graphics or chipset rosak. repair too mahal so i opt for desktop instead. cheaper, better, affordable maintainence. but not mobile. PS peachie u worked for ACER in PC Fair right? haha.. |

You can always drop by the library or NTU lab to check the announcements.
Or ask your groupmates. |

QUOTE(kayexem @ May 22 2010, 01:49 PM) i hope i'm not making a wrong choice by getting a desktop instead of a notebook xD if anyone drop by pc fair at melaka can see me too.. haha cos my acer burnt already. =.= either graphics or chipset rosak. repair too mahal so i opt for desktop instead. cheaper, better, affordable maintainence. but not mobile. PS peachie u worked for ACER in PC Fair right? haha.. maybe this time klcc and melaka... but i think have pro and cons: If for laptop, after paying IT fees, its like u are not using the facilities provided. So, having a laptop enable u to go to class, does not need to print notes and just look at ur laptop. And at the same time, u can torrent during the lec.. haha if desktop, is rather good in sense that MMu student dont really off their pc. so, even myself leave my pc on and surely my pc will be doing some stuff. Added on May 22, 2010, 5:09 pm QUOTE(Kai1492 @ May 22 2010, 04:34 PM) windows is user friendly. but great advantage of mac is that u will be able to minimize virus infection. Since MMU uses windows, its not bad to use mac. Then ur laptop/pc wont get pregnent with virus. and if u want to buy apple new products, in mmu melaka there is sapura shop where the items are cheaper as it has student's price.Added on May 22, 2010, 5:09 pm QUOTE(chewinggum @ May 22 2010, 04:05 PM) no commnet. but for me, i think they have nothing to do and is just too free..Added on May 22, 2010, 5:10 pm QUOTE(zombie-pig @ May 22 2010, 02:29 PM) i brought my pc from hometown.. no big deal. and i have seen ppl bring their lcd, and desktop back and put in the bus too.. hahaThis post has been edited by gavinfernando: May 22 2010, 05:10 PM |

Guys, hows the condition for cyberjaya hostel rooms? Since admin said 3 people in a room, so definitely 1 double decker and a bed. That leaves to my next question which is, are there desk to study and chairs? also, enough space for cupboards? Can someone staying in cyberjaya hostel upload a picture of the room pls..

For Cyberjaya campus, its a double decker and a single bed. 2 wardrobes and a long desk which is suppose for 2 person.
Here is how it is suppose to work: The one grabbing the single bed get the wardrobe but not the desk. Those who get the double decker have to share wardrobe but get the desk. But you can always work things out, sharing is caring. |

QUOTE(zombie-pig @ May 22 2010, 02:29 PM) erm ya. gonna setup my desktop there.found a seller who is mmu cyber student as well. good service (from what he told me) price around lowyat price (which is where i intended to go) and 1 year onsite warranty. so he just come collect from my place if got problem. don need go all the way from cyber to lowyat. =) QUOTE(AMiRU @ May 22 2010, 06:57 PM) Here is how it is suppose to work: What AMiRU said is true cos i confirmed with a friend who used to stay in Cyber hostel. now moved out to cyberia already. The one grabbing the single bed get the wardrobe but not the desk. Those who get the double decker have to share wardrobe but get the desk. But you can always work things out, sharing is caring. the idea of not having a desk in my own room really motivated me to look for a room in cyberia which i already did =) and the only thing that is good about the hostel is the internet, which i bet almost everyone knows lah. fox87, go youtube search "mmu hostel". there are some negativities of the hostel there. but since i havent really stayed there, i remain neutral xD judge for yourself.. (apparently "no smoking" does not apply there o.O) |

In terms of space, the rooms are suppose to be 2 person yet due to high demand they make it a 3 person. So its a bit small but I've live 2 years in that small room, yet I'm still alive.
The toilets, depends on your luck. Some people are just stupid, they don't know how to keep it clean. MMU is to be blame too for not really keeping the toilet in a good shape as some toilets really needs to be repair. Yet, its Cyberjaya and the cost of living is a bit high especially to those who come from Kampung. Renting an apartment in Cyberia could cost you more than RM1000/month. If you're lucky you can rent a room for 200-300/month. Still, need to pay for utilities bill. If you stay hostel, you can bath for 1 hour without bothering about the water bills. You can turn on your PC for 24/7 without bothering about the electricity bill. Its your choice, both hostel and living outside has its pros and cons. |

Whenever I step into library, I got all sleepy
