I've been using Maxis bb with ZTE USB modem. If I want to buy a MIFI modem from IT shop, can I just buy the unit and insert the sim and use it as normal? How do I go through the Connection Manager software to connect like how i'm doing it with the USB modem?
Do I have to buy a Maxis issued modem?

And how about for mobile devices to connect to the Wifi?

The Mifi in mind is Huawei e5331

Thanks in advance

Is it just me or Maxis Prepaid Broadband in Negeri Sembilan is very slow, it's so hard to connect and even accessing web portal page. Or is my USB modem faulty?

I use 3G on my mobile phone and tether, it works just fine.

I'm really going to switch to other carrier if this problem persists. doh.gif

If you use Maxis on your phone and it works fine on the same location while your USB modem is having issue, consider changing your modem smile.gif

look carefully

there is 12+36gb, not an exact 48gb package
but still better than the maxis old package that RM 198 for 12GB only

but RM 158 can get similar quota for other telco too cool2.gif

WIRELESS BROADBAND 48GB
Recommended for HD video streaming, intense online gaming, and even greater uploads and downloads.

Enjoy RM10 x 5 months rebate
8am-2am – 12GB quota
2am-8am – 36GB quota
More modem options available for selection

can use as normal..

no need to worry about the connection manager ..

because once insert sim into the mifi... no settings is required (depending on what mifi model)

mifi act like a smart phone... once turned on... automatically start hotspot and you are ready to surf the net

You are referring to the MiFi right? I just bought one 4GB on peak + 4GB off peak a few weeks ago.

There's a 12 months contract tied to it cause they are giving the device for free. Are you planning to get the 3G or 4G broadband? (my 4G is awesome btw hehehe)

Anyway, the link if you wanna check in detail:
