Update.. Just change a new microsim.. Still.. My download speed cant reach 3mbps .. Damn.. What should i do.. Wait till i reach home can test with mdma ... Tell the story from a-z tu maxis cs..acting like she understand what im saying..so i replace with rm25 billed to my acc.. After waiting 1 hour activation.. Insert sim to ipad..straight to speedtest app on ipad.. The result still the same like b4.. Does this my new sim also cap to 2mb? .. Arghh.. Tension already..
*
Location dependent, changing sim doesn't change your speed cap
Try using it with a proper modem at a less congested tower

hi....
my house currently can only get on 20%++ signal using old huawei e220. Less than 1mbps. i.e. no youtube.
Can anybody recommend  reasonably price usb modem w/external antenna? is E367 is the best? Price range +/-150.

+ shud i use external antenna? which 1 is the best?
Not a heavy downloader, but at least need to be able to get SD quality youtube.
Replies appreciated. Thanks.

You should file a complain to Maxis hope they can build a new tower on your area
Or you can get a E367 and DIY a aluminum foil reflector to safe cost, works well here.

I have a ZTE MF180 modem from U Mobile previoulsy
can I straight use the Maxis sim card to my MF180?

I want to use Maxis prepaid broadband only, while waiting for my unifi
*
If your modem is locked = No
But you can simply unlock through DC Unlocked or purchase a Huawei E367 which performs better

1. any recommended modem?
2. i forgot to ask this to the salesman but when is my 1st bill and how much will it be?

Recommended modem=Huawei E367
Affordable and good performance (28.8mbps)
Averagely 14mbps

As for first month, depends on your package as some agent will vaive activation

Hi,

Im quite new in this broadband thingy...
Is there any trick@advice on setting up my broadband to make connection more stable instead of default setting?

Thanks in advance.. smile.gif
*
Hi

Firstly, a good modem is crucial
Next, the angle and positioning of the modem
Thirdly, the package of your broadband biggrin.gif

Software doesn't help much

MDMA just enable to know more info about your signal quality

You should exit your mobile partner, broadband software before u can use mdma

Just signed up for maxis RM68 package. The speed is really slow here =.=.  I'm feeling kinda regret for terminating my celcom broadband for this.... Will getting a better modem improve my speed? I'm using e173 they gave btw.
*
Yes, getting a better modem will surely increase your speed

E173 support 7.2mbit while E367 support 28.8mbit

Can refer to the reviews / testimonial

as ppl more saying maxis better than celcom (in fact it does since celcom not having hspa+ network yet, and maxis has more station than celcom), so you should have better surfing experience now even with e173. weird with reversed result.

maybe the time u online is too crowded (too many users suck into a same tower). changing to hspa+ modem can help use maxis hspa+ high speed network. but if still slow, should be congested issue, u need let it 'connect' to another tower with a help of external 3g directional antenna point to another tower site.
*
Don't spread wrong info bro

Celcom is known for the widest coverage in Malaysia. The differences are, Maxis having more 3G base station rather than Celcom. Umobile shouldn't be counted as it roam with Celcom + Maxis network.

In fact, Celcom do have HSPA+ base station on Klang Valley and certain locations smile.gif notworthy.gif

Yea i would like to know this as well cause MDMA can't use with mifi modems. Unless i'm doing it wrong.

E355 supports MDMA if your seller provide you with good batch, anyway, just a firmware update trick will work

But MDMA support still buggy. Don't expect too much

Hi everyone smile.gif
I'm using an iPhone with a Hotlink account. May I know what's the difference between the mobile Internet (MI) and wireless broadband (WBB), other than the validity period and data cap? Both of these options can be accessed through *100# and I couldn't decide which to choose in order for me to use mobile data on my phone. smile.gif

(I also posted this on the Maxis iPhone thread, thought I'd try posting it here as well)
*
Mobile internet is for those postpaid line users which required an internet plan

Wireless broadband is lifeless internet with no call making ability.

Currently Surfmore plan is nice

Is it just me or Maxis Prepaid Broadband in Negeri Sembilan is very slow, it's so hard to connect and even accessing web portal page. Or is my USB modem faulty?

I use 3G on my mobile phone and tether, it works just fine.

I'm really going to switch to other carrier if this problem persists. doh.gif
*
If you use Maxis on your phone and it works fine on the same location while your USB modem is having issue, consider changing your modem smile.gif

Which device u get ?
21Mpbs USB or MIFI modem ?

I told no tied up with contract ,cos I plan for use few mth only !
I saw the page show on maxis , 4g LTE plan free black color MIFI modem  have 12 mth contract .

After saw ur post I think all wireless broadband have tied with contract because free the MIFI modem .
I think I have to use the u mobile only !
*
You can check the SIM only, I not sure if there's contract for SIM only plan

Else go for Umobile which don't have contract , but you need to buy the modem.

I've got a question here..

I'm a subscriber to MaxisWBB (8GB package, 4-4) and I have a speed problem.

I got their modem (ZTE MF65) which the speed only can go up to 2-3 mbps while if I use by friend's (4G USB dongle) can go up to 10mbps.

Besides that, my download speed keep stays at 0. Only a few moments it goes up to 10kbps ~ 30 kbps.

Is there a problem with my modem or ?
There's connection bad speed.

*My area's Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.

Thanks. Hehe.
*
Get a better modem.

Your modem don't support LTE
