QUOTE(doobydoo @ Aug 16 2010, 09:54 AM) I just heard from a HTC distributor that Froyo will NOT be available officially for the Wildfire. According to him, it will only be launched for models with a minimum 1GHz CPU. Anyone can confirm this? Cos it will be real shame if the Wildfire is capped at Android 2.1. HTC Distributor is SiS Malaysia, i heard from them this year's android all will have 2.2 upgrade, who you talk to?

He's the official distributor / seller for HTC in Kuching. They just opened up recently and it appears that the Wildifre is also selling here like hot cakes. Basically sold out their entire stock on Saturday....stocks only arrived last week!

Then that's a relief!
Anyone here had any luck finding cases for their Wildfire? Seems like there aren't many out there yet.

I think that was for rumored 3.0 (Gingerbread). It's just speculation with no known source.

On a different note, having a store specialising in smartphones in Kuching is a real boon since I can't remember any such store here. Previously, if your non-Symbian smartphone went south...well...good luck! Now at least there's some support here as the store owner is willing to help out with any software issues. They are also in talks to get a technician posted here for hardware support. Heck, if I don't get any news of my Wildfire soon, I'll probably go buy from this store instead since they have stock coming in later today. Slightly more pricey but can get software FOC. Another thing of note, other than the Wildfire, the next most popular-selling Android phones are the Desire and Samsung Galaxy S. I think the Wildfire is kinda killing the mid-range market for Android phones.

QUOTE(cwleong59 @ Aug 16 2010, 08:31 AM) One solution suggested by someone on the Papago thread:- "I heard this way works so if it doesnt work for you hopefully someone else can help. Run the MFM-PPG-C100415a from mfm website. It will make a folder named MFM. Copy all the contents of this folder and replace the one in NaviSEA-Maps-MALAYSIA on your android. Dont make a duplicate, just replace all the files. In the end you should have a folder named MALAYSIA with the contents replaced by the contents of MFM." I hope your MFM file is the old one, if it is the new but beta one then it will not work in android or iphone. Just have to wait for them to finish. http://www.malfreemaps.com/viewtopic.php?f...t=8567&start=50I couldnt find the NaviSEA-Maps-MALAYSIA...Issit i have to download papago ?? where to download btw ???

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Aug 16 2010, 06:02 AM) it is Ori... find a time and i'll upload to you and see.. too bad me here same, only black and red, wanted white but hv to wait... so i took black RM699 with contract is what i pay for... for me it is a great deal... try to check it manually... i use advance task manager, untick my clock so it will not kill the process and affect my alarm... i tried to uncheck some apps manually, so when i click the apps icon it will not kill it... so u migh need to manually check it to kill it... where got red??? i want red but don't have red.

No big deal here & I still love my Wildfire. This post has been edited by alpha0201: Aug 16 2010, 04:20 PM

QUOTE(harryfoo @ Aug 16 2010, 04:55 PM) White! But everywhere in Malaysia doesn't have white colour Wildfire yet. At 1st I wanted white, then the salesman told me the shipment of black & brown wildfires just arrived and might need to wait for sometime if I wanted white. So I chose black instead. I didn't expect white hasn't arrive at all.
