Finally I got my hands on Wildfire. Even though its only QVGA, it seems it is much readable than my previous Touch Viva.
Occasionally I palm would accidentally touches the home button, which is quite annoying. One thing I like about Android OS is when the APN is off, it STAY OFF. ACV comic reader is awesome. This post has been edited by alpha0201: Jul 24 2010, 11:07 AM |

When i wanted to make calls have to go through a huge list just to get to the number i want and some overseas number is listed too lol Me too. I was expecting to update existing contact profile, not put the entire damn friend list.i have to delete the facebook sense than only can make the phone become normal back. QUOTE(tect @ Aug 15 2010, 07:13 PM) The screen resolution is wqvga, it is better than Tattoo, but lower scale if compare with Legend, Aria, Hero, Desire. Its qvga (320x240) la bro. wqvga is 400x240.Furthermore, due to it is the 1st HTC android phone with such screen resolution, maybe a lot of apps in the market still not support. If you want a full compatible of apps with your phone, better consider Legend, Aria or Desire, Galaxy S, milestone |

QUOTE(doobydoo @ Aug 16 2010, 09:54 AM) I just heard from a HTC distributor that Froyo will NOT be available officially for the Wildfire. According to him, it will only be launched for models with a minimum 1GHz CPU. I think that was for rumored 3.0 (Gingerbread). It's just speculation with no known source.Anyone can confirm this? Cos it will be real shame if the Wildfire is capped at Android 2.1. |

QUOTE(epool86 @ Aug 16 2010, 04:00 PM) already purchased wildfire last saturday. That's the downside of it. 3.2" screen might sound awesome but pair it with qvga resolution is not really a brilliant idea when the pixels are stretch to size that you can see them.everything is great (suitable with the price), but screen is quite disappointed (not so sharp). i don't know, maybe becoz all this while i use better screen (nexus one), that made me felt wildfire screen is "blur" No big deal here & I still love my Wildfire. I've seen red colour dummy set. Too vulgar for me. But that's my taste, maybe you'll like it.

That is not really a fair review if you compared to the range topping Desire with entry level Wildfire which is twice as fast, twice the resolution & twice the price.
You have to compare it with predecessor Tattoo or Acer beTouch or anything similar. |

I noticed something, after I turn on when using & off when not using APN, it will disable by itself by adding diginet [disabled], digiwap [disabled] & digimms [disabled].

Mine's black. Wanted white but stock hasn't arrived yet back then. So I settled with black.
Anyone sell wildfire back panel which is entirely soft touch? Something like desire ![]() The fake brushed aluminium plastic looked dated. This post has been edited by alpha0201: Sep 9 2010, 04:40 PM |

QUOTE(cheehing @ Sep 15 2010, 09:32 AM) anyone discover the problems can't receive sms on low storage space ?? how much kb of space left? I always leave at least 15mb for cache.i happend twice can't get any sms in but im not sure whether is it cause by the low storage space because the latest happend was on low storage space...after i uninstall an app n restart...no more low storage notification thn all the sms coming in... There seems to be no news about froyo for wildfire since late july. Tattoo had this experience when some sources says they will & they will not get the update. This like beating a dead horse. |

QUOTE(andydavids @ Sep 15 2010, 09:19 PM) just got my wildfire... I think the news apply for HTC Tattoo. The rumours were flying around the internet that Tattoo might get 2.2 update instead of promised 2.1 last year. Until one of the XDA forumer contacted HTC & was told that isn't true.listen from the shop owner, he said that there won't be froyo for wildfire due to some reasons (processor) and etc... not so sure about it.. btw, any recommended apps that should download?? noobie here.. thx HTC Wildfire however, HTC staff kept mum about the froyo update. |
