Wow, desire thread so active becos of Froyo OTA, keeping my fingers cross for wildfire OTA Froyo update. The HTC site says u should backup before updating, how to do backup without titanium backup on my un-rooted wildfire. Dont want all my applications and software disappearing after updating. Anybody can give some valuable advice on that.

Hi everyone! I am another proud new owner of a HTC Wildfire. Just got my set today at Maxis Centre @ Sunway Pyramid.
I have been searching around for this phone in Digital Mall, Subang Parade and Shah Alam Plaza to no avail. PDA Expert Mobility also no stock, even for HTC Desire (probably the holiday season). Finally, found it in Maxis Centre. Red version finished yesterday. Bought the black version (left 3 stock, 12PM), which looks very sleek. Haven't tried the phone yet, still charging and conditioning the battery. Will be using this with DiGi's rate plan later. Maxis service very long waiting period, I see the reason for the San Francisco Coffee outlet in there. The guy wasn't very interested to engage customers, I couldn't care less since I just wanted the phone w/o a plan. He said that right now HTC Wildfire is on a limited basis to test the market. (Easter Egg : Regarding iPhone 4 release, probably in October)
Want to thank all of the posters here to give me a well informed decision over this phone. Had wanted the HTC Desire for months, no promotion, new job tak jadi, then AMOLED global shortage, and etc. Realised that Wildfire was a really good budget phone that I wouldn't worry too much being lost or stolen. It fits well in my hand and pocket. Does everything I need: email, surfing, social networking, ipod movies, music. Not really into gaming so this fit the bill very comfortably. Also the other reason is if I were to use it in USA (AT&T/T-Mobile USA), I wouldn't lose out so much being a 3G phone on EDGE.
Have a great day people! Happy post-Merdeka.
