QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 2 2010, 08:05 AM) http://gizmodo.com/5601874/jailbreakme-20-...and-321-devices Hey benny888, A new way to jailbreak iPad veer 3.2.1 now available. Will try it later today ----------------------------------------- Update an hour later : Just tested . Cannot work on the ipad ver 3.2.1. This version apparently works only on iphone 4. When I click the link, i select " Slide to Jailbreak" . The ipad restarted with the apple logo, it stay on about 1 min plus and reboot. There was no download. Everything back to normal - I just tested all the basic functions - everything is working ok. Phew ! what a shock thought this might affect my ipad. Those ipad on ver 3.2 - it will work according to many users. It is very simple - all done thro the browser unlike earlier version where you need to download the program . Its good to know you're moving to jb 3.2.1. I've jb'd mine from 3.2 but am considering moving to 3.2.1. I don't have a wifi issue, and am wondering about other advantages to move up. Please advise. |

Have seen 1 News bout this lovely Ipad. Something interesting to be shared as i see quite a few discussion over this things
QUOTE Some people really want to be able to sunbathe and use their iPad--so much that they're willing to sue for it. By the average temperatures on Asian weather, hopefully this overheat issue wont hooked up so easily. This is not relevant for such premium brand like Apple.A trio of Northern Californians is suing everybody's favorite technology company--that is, Apple--because their iPads reportedly overheat too quickly in the sun. courtesy of Zach Honig (Twitter: @zachhonig) The complaint was filed in federal court in Oakland on July 23 by Jacob Balthazar, Claudia Keller, and John Browning. According to the filing, the iPad does not "live up to reasonable consumer's expectations created by Apple." "The iPad does not live up to the reasonable consumer's expectations created by Apple insofar as the iPad overheats so quickly under common weather conditions that it does not function for prolonged use outdoors, or in many other warm conditions," the filing reads. When the 9.7-inch touchscreen iPad is in the sun for too long, the device shuts down and leaves the user with a screen that reads "iPad needs to cool down before you can use it." According to the complaint, this sometimes happens after just minutes of being outside. All right, so most people realize that taking your sexy new technology sunbathing with you isn't a great idea. But, before you throw this case out as absurdly frivolous, let's look at the evidence. On April 4, Max Fisher of did a round-up of several accounts overheating iPads. Fisher noted The Next Web's statistics--operating temperature is 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. On April 3, iPhone developer Elliot Kroo tweeted that his iPad overheated after only ten minutes in the San Diego sun. PC Magazine editor Zach Honig also tweeted about his iPad failure--after only ten minutes in the New York sun, his iPad shut down. However, he put it in the fridge for a minute and it quickly came back around. This may actually be a very real problem, especially since the iPad is designed for e-book reading and casual computing--a very plausible time to use your iPad would be outside or at the beach. Also, this is not just an iPad issue--it also happens with the iPhone (just the other day my iPhone shut down after I, er, took it sunbathing), but the iPad has a larger surface area and is thus quicker to soak up the rays. QUOTE The software modification is the first release for Apple's latest handset hardware, the iPhone 4. Some users reported that the jailbreak managed to break FaceTime and MMS functionality on the device. Comex, via twitter, said that he was able to reproduce the issues, and is working on a fix. The latest jailbreak does not work with iPads running iOS 3.2.1. Source |

QUOTE(Hiruka @ Aug 2 2010, 12:07 PM) Have seen 1 News bout this lovely Ipad. Something interesting to be shared as i see quite a few discussion over this things Hey you guys, i forgot once i left my pad in my car on a hot malaysian summers day and was reminded by a freind this is bad for the ipad. By the average temperatures on Asian weather, hopefully this overheat issue wont hooked up so easily. This is not relevant for such premium brand like Apple. Pepper Sauce So for our info here is a copy from the apple website regarding this issue. iPhone and iPad: Keeping device within acceptable operating temperatures Last Modified: July 12, 2010 Article: HT2101 Summary Learn about the operating temperatures and temperature management of iPhone and iPad. Products Affected iPhone, iPad Operate iPhone and iPad in a place where the temperature is between 0º and 35º C (32º to 95º F). Low- or high-temperature conditions might temporarily shorten battery life or cause the device to temporarily stop working properly. Store the device in a place where the temperature is between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don’t leave the device in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range. When using the device or charging the battery, it is normal for it to get warm. The exterior of the device functions as a cooling surface that transfers heat from inside the device to the cooler air outside. If the interior temperature of the device exceeds normal operating temperatures, you may experience the following as it attempts to regulate its temperature: Device stops charging Display dims Weak cellular signal Location Services is disabled Camera flash is disabled (iPhone 4 only) Temperature warning screen appears with the message "iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it" or "iPad needs to cool down before you can use it" (see image): This message appears when the operating temperature has become too hot. This is a safety mechanism that protects the components of your device. If this message appears, you should turn the device off, move it to a cooler environment, and allow it to cool before resuming use. Note: When this message appears, the device may still be able to make emergency calls. Some conditions and activities that may activate the Temperature warning message: Leaving the device in a car on a hot day. Leaving it in direct sunlight for extended amounts of time. Using certain features in hot conditions or direct sunlight for long periods of time, such as GPS tracking in a car on a sunny day or listening to music while in direct sunlight. Safety Standards: iPhone and iPad comply with the safety standard for Safety of Information Technology Equipment, IEC 60950-1. This safety standard has been adopted by many countries and is referred to as the following: UL 60950-1 in the United States CSA 60950-01 in Canada EN60950-1 in Europe AS/NZS 60950:1 in Australia and New Zealand. |

Hi, nowhere else to post so i post here.
Finally excited to get a confirmation that my iPad will be delivering on the 28th of August. I am looking forward to doing loads of reading on there. I was just thinking about the huge potential there is on iPad for gamebooks. Anyone read the game books by Joe Dever and the adventures of Lone Wolf? Imagine that on an iPad. |

QUOTE(Jerm_vii @ Aug 2 2010, 09:21 PM) Hi, nowhere else to post so i post here. I do. I have the HTML versions of Lone Wolf books, how I wish they could be recompiled into a fully working gamebooks. I do have the physical copies, but I only purchased them up to the Magnakai Adventures only. Here is the link to the HTML versions of the Lone Wolf gamebooks. These are legal, Internet Editions of the gamebooks, and are to be used for personal use and are not redistributed for personal profits. They have been made available by Project Aon. |
