If you are leaving the country within 30 days, you can claim back the GST on any purchase over $300AUD at the airport as you leave. All you need to do is show the TRS booth the Tax Invoice we give you and the physical products purchased.

The TRS is open to all overseas visitors and Australian residents, except air and sea operating crew.

The refund is paid on goods costing $300 or more, bought from the same store, no earlier than 30 days before leaving Australia. Travellers may purchase several lower-priced items from the one store, either at the one time or over several occasions within the 30-day period, provided the total purchase amounts to $300 or more and the goods are covered by the one tax invoice.

Travellers leaving Australia through an international airport may collect a refund in cash on departure (if the refund is $200 or less) or choose a non-cash option. Noncash options include:

cheque

credit to an Australian bank account

payment to a credit card

Customs will aim to make non-cash payments to travellers within 30 days. To calculate the GST free price on any product listed on our site, divide the price by 1.1 or choose the International pricing button as a guide. We will not accept Ex-GST orders for residence of Australia.



Example:

GPS 60c - $525 Inc GST

Divide 525/1.1 = $477.27

Inc GST price of $525 - Ex GST price of $477.27 = $47.73



You will receive a refund of $47.73

The GST on our freight charge cannot be claimed.
