I signed up when they had the promo around march.. Free modem etc etc.. paid rm 150 upfront if not mistaken.

Got the regular sim and the usb modem. I cut to micro size myself and just slot into the ipad.

Not using maxis issue micro sim

yes maxis charges a premium for their microsim. Its not worth it actually. Better to cut i reckon.

huh.. well i queued since last week, so may take a while. Alternatively, do some light spamming on the twit and facebook applications on flipboard to show some interest. Hope that helps.

My 5 sen advise from an old man :

If money is no issue, buy iPAD a expensive substandard tablet ; is a inbetween a netbook and a desktop with several limitations. Enjoy spending money with it while at same time enjoy all the frustrations and possibly spending more money ( buying apps ) to make it more enjoyable. As I am using the iPAD for the last 2 months, I can confidently tell you is an expensive TOY. Many might not agreed with me but that's how I see it. Buy it only if you have spare cash. The money would be better spend on buying or upgrading a notebook. Frankly I am shock that so many students are buying - their fathers must be generous and  quite well off to allow such spending by their children. I will never spend such money. I don't mind buying a MacBook Air costing RM7k for my son but NEVER this. I told my children if they ever want this, go and earn the money to buy it.

If money is limited, I'd think you'll get more satisfaction buying a iPhone as it performs as aphone and its PDA features is acceptable as is meant to be designed as such

A new way to jailbreak iPad veer 3.2.1 now available. Will try it later today

-----------------------------------------
Update an hour later  : Just tested . Cannot work on the ipad ver 3.2.1. This version apparently works only on iphone 4. When I click the link, i select " Slide to Jailbreak" . The ipad restarted with the apple logo, it stay on about 1 min plus and reboot. There was no download. Everything back to normal - I just tested all the basic functions - everything is working ok. Phew ! what a shock thought this might affect my ipad.

Those ipad on ver 3.2 - it will work according to many users. It is very simple - all done thro the browser unlike earlier version where you need to download the program .

Hey benny888,

Its good to know you're moving to jb 3.2.1. I've jb'd mine from 3.2 but am considering moving to 3.2.1.

I don't have a wifi issue, and am wondering about other advantages to move up.

Please advise.

Have seen 1 News bout this lovely Ipad. Something interesting to be shared as i see quite a few discussion over this things biggrin.gif
By the average temperatures on Asian weather, hopefully this overheat issue wont hooked up so easily. This is not relevant for such premium brand like Apple.

Hey you guys, i forgot once i left my pad in my car on a hot malaysian summers day and was reminded by a freind this is bad for the ipad.

So for our info here is a copy from the apple website regarding this issue.

iPhone and iPad: Keeping device within acceptable operating temperatures
Last Modified: July 12, 2010
Article: HT2101

Summary
Learn about the operating temperatures and temperature management of iPhone and iPad.

Products Affected
iPhone, iPad
Operate iPhone and iPad in a place where the temperature is between 0º and 35º C (32º to 95º F). Low- or high-temperature conditions might temporarily shorten battery life or cause the device to temporarily stop working properly.

Store the device in a place where the temperature is between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don’t leave the device in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.

When using the device or charging the battery, it is normal for it to get warm. The exterior of the device functions as a cooling surface that transfers heat from inside the device to the cooler air outside.

If the interior temperature of the device exceeds normal operating temperatures, you may experience the following as it attempts to regulate its temperature:

Device stops charging
Display dims
Weak cellular signal
Location Services is disabled
Camera flash is disabled (iPhone 4 only)
Temperature warning screen appears with the message "iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it" or "iPad needs to cool down before you can use it" (see image):

This message appears when the operating temperature has become too hot. This is a safety mechanism that protects the components of your device. If this message appears, you should turn the device off, move it to a cooler environment, and allow it to cool before resuming use.

Note: When this message appears, the device may still be able to make emergency calls.

Some conditions and activities that may activate the Temperature warning message:

Leaving the device in a car on a hot day.
Leaving it in direct sunlight for extended amounts of time.
Using certain features in hot conditions or direct sunlight for long periods of time, such as GPS tracking in a car on a sunny day or listening to music while in direct sunlight.
Safety Standards:
iPhone and iPad comply with the safety standard for Safety of Information Technology Equipment, IEC 60950-1.

This safety standard has been adopted by many countries and is referred to as the following:

UL 60950-1 in the United States
CSA 60950-01 in Canada
EN60950-1 in Europe
AS/NZS 60950:1 in Australia and New Zealand.

Long time lost touch with Symbian - no idea .
Why don't you try and let us know whether possible.
iPhones definitely cannot tether with iPAD ( purposely not allowed to as it would affect 3G ipad sales) - there could be a possible solution as some developers working on it now

Joikuspot is supposed to do it on symbian s60

product info here http://www.joikushop.com/index.php?action=...&type=free_text

Heard tethering really sucks your phone battery dry.

Let us know if you do try.

Hi does iwork pages support the apple BT keyboard? especially when you are using the direction keys?

The app advertisement says it supports the BT keyboard, but does it support the use of the up, down, left & right direction keys?

thanks
