Thought there was a thread like this. Anyway, can't make up my mind coz so far I only own a Dell, Acer and that's it. Well, the Acer was problematic with broken hinges, dead battery and dead charger but since I heard they've improved, can't vote for any.

I voted for Sony VAIO, simply for the fact that they're trying to push artificial prices for their laptops.
Any decent minded person would realise that Sony's laptops are on average RM1000 more expensive than similar laptops of other brands. This creates an imbalance in the market [competitors are reluctant to sell at too low a price which might make their own product look inferior] which hurts us end users. |

I voted Apple because I don't want to pay 100% extra compare to a similar spec laptop even though the OS may be awesome.

Acer's currently number 1,followed by Apple..
But,don't judge the quality of the Acer laptops based on these votes, users may have voted for Acer just because their OLD models weren't good, but now their new models like Timeline and Aspire are pretty good already |

I try not to vote Acer, but sadly my 3 month old Acer is already giving me a headache. Like u guys owez said, if the hardware got problem its not manufacturer's fault, it's all from OEM supplier. But who's fault is it if my laptop gets to hot while other users never had any problem with heat?

This survey wouldn't be accurate as not all users had tried every single brand. Some only base on their first or second time bad experience on a particular brand only. Maybe they weren't in luck to get such bad device resulting them to hate that particular brand.
So all these votes cannot be justify. I null the vote anyway |

QUOTE(towtow @ May 15 2010, 10:50 AM) Acer votes is leading... Acer,Apple and HP are leading OMG just about considering to get Acer Timeline but after read this thread, need to reconsider again... I voted for Apple, because they are way too expensive even though their specs are almost the same with the RM2K+ laptops, just for the brand and OS it's a few thousand extra.. Btw,get what you want,it's your opinion, dun judge based on this thread..Timeline is really good now..cool design too |

QUOTE(edwardng @ May 15 2010, 05:03 PM) Actually the 5741G isn't stylish at all. It's plain and gets the job done. It lacks dedicated buttons like some other brands have for volume, media player, etc (although some people actually prefer lesser buttons). The fake brushed aluminium plastic palmrest doesn't help its cause very much. But heck, as long as it gets the job done, I'm very happy with my 5741G |

voted for HP. but actually, not for HP, but for their mid low series of Compaq brand. HP, presario, Envy have the most eyecandy, so It wont get my vote.
In my student life, the most problematic laptop I've seen is Acer brand, followed by Compaq. But surely because students being student dont have that much money to get Fujitsu, Apple, or even toshiba (which get my votes of best laptop ever!) The reason why I get myself A Dell is, of course, for the most people agree, the warranty. Dell have the best warranty policy in malaysia. |

I had no idea about which brand is bad or good. I'm the user of Acer 5741g and this my 1st own computer I love Sony Vaio but it will kinda pretty much expensive to get that brand laptop with the same spec as Acer 5741g |

dont jump into conclusion.. It would be MacOSX vs Windows 7 later on lol..
Well, I've met people who wanted to buy a Macbook and only use WIndows 7 on it .. And this is then considered "overpriced" LoL.. Whats the point of using Win 7 on Macbooks? When you can buy better hardware for Windows 7.. |

Even if they do make all this other electrical stuff, why do other brand that focus mainly on computer stuff have more issue than
the brands that produce other electrical stuff? sorry to say but your theory given is ridiculous somehow. It doesn't relate at all. |

I think it will just depends on your own luck with using your laptop. Maybe brand can be compare through the customer service, their service provide how is it. Price, time, etc. |

acer is fine based on my usage 2007-8. The earlier models were crappy.
Those who voted for VAIO and Apple need to get a life. Those are HIGH-END laptops, hence the price. I have used HP, Acer and Toshiba previously, and I found my new Apple a world of difference compared to my previous laptop. Nothing beat Macbooks in terms of design and quality.. You can't degrade a laptop just because it's high-end. If you guys don't care about the brand, just price vs. hardware specs, then just go custom make your laptop- let it have no-brand... I'm sure it'll be several hundred cheaper than several brands. Macbooks rock btw(I'm using Win 7 on it)..... This post has been edited by atukbaru: May 17 2010, 10:21 PM |

You can cool it down a lot more if you lower down the power settings(performance).. I've used AMD on Compaq and Acer.... 80-100C is no big deal... But Macbooks are the only laptops which can give you 9-10hour battery.. And the design is way better.. no more cd-try, and it's also thinner and lighter than equivalent laptops. |

haha ^^...finally some fanboi in the thread
Well, no need to bash other brands, if you like Macbook then its You think people here voted for Apple/HP because of their price (and so called High-End models)..that just oh wait.....what is it again, 'Think Different' but obviously from the previous picture only one person 'Think Different' which is the one using Acer, nice isn't it We are not bashing one another, some got good experience with Macbook, some don't...while some got problems with their Acer, while some don't Easy my friend, stick with Macbook (Apple) if it really satisfy you, as for us, with the budget of Macbook, we can get the likes of M17x/G51Jx/N61Jq/N8690 etc etc This post has been edited by miahahaha: May 18 2010, 07:08 AM |

QUOTE(UnderTheSun @ May 18 2010, 02:13 PM) Brand doesn't matter Look at your needs for the laptop and your budget. You have to look at the specs and warranty/after sales service. As for me I'd buy anything that satisfy my needs and money Really.. for the Mac vs other brands it should be whether you use MacOSX or Windows thats it.. |

QUOTE(atukbaru @ May 17 2010, 10:20 PM) acer is fine based on my usage 2007-8. The earlier models were crappy. 1. For VAIO and Apple, nobody's complaining about the price. It's the performance you get after you've plunked down 5-6k for average specs. HIGH-END price, MID-RANGE specs. Not worth it. Period. 2. Good luck managing those temps of yours. And even though I own a laptop with a slot-loading DVD, I'll admit it is seriously annoying. I'd take a tray-loader over a slot-loader anytime. 3. I don't think you can "custom make" your own laptop... If we could we wouldn't even be having this discussion in the first place. 4. What's the point of buying a Macbook if you're going to run Win7 on it? The only thing Mac has going for it is its OS and the nice software included (which is much better than Win7). By doing that, you just took away the only good point in favour of the Macbook, besides the sleek design. Great job on that. |

QUOTE(atukbaru @ May 18 2010, 12:11 AM) It looks like a Macbook fan club meeting.. I don't think everyone would take their lappy out in a lecture setting like that.. and all macbook looks more like staged.. the pic could be very true in US or most part of Europe. Even though DELL from US but not many ppl using it. Most ppl used Mac. Only in Asia with their low income would ppl glorify brand like Acer or Dell.ps- Mac just has 3% of the OS share.. the pic above is definitely abnormal. |

The problem is, we never said that Macbook (Apple) is a bad product, just that their product are higher priced & also the recent MBP (i5) is a HEAT GENERATOR....
Like-wise, when people said my BenQ S42 is a HEAT GENERATOR, i would answer YES, because it is Just remember : A GOOD CONSUMER ALWAYS KNOWS PROS & CONS OF THE PRODUCT *Sager, yes its a superb laptop and i never heard any defect unit or what so ever but still for us here in MY, the problem would be the warranty, one of the reason why some still hesitated when want to buy Sager... *AW, a gaming line laptop with spec is worthy to be praise but then again after being under Dell, got to say the quality are somehow decreased, but worry not as we know that Dell aftersales service is SUPERB, one reason for getting AW *MB (Apple), worthy product that can live up to its name worldwide, and combo of spec & operating system that would WOW people but then again, need to exclude the pleasure of high-end gaming because the spec are just so-so only and the price is just Added on May 19, 2010, 10:51 amNot saying i'm a good consumer though, me just average only, noob some more This post has been edited by monza84: May 19 2010, 10:51 AM |

1. macbooks are for graphic or office geeks 2. windows are for general people or gamers hmm.. looks like i'm in category 2. i also think that it's not worth buying computers for status. computers and cars become out-of-date in just a few years. if we wanna buy something for status, it will be a house. it will last long. I actually want to applaud the thread starter for thinking of this. Compared to a poll that asks your favorite/best laptop brand, a poll that asks the worst will get far more attention & sincerity. The simple reason being that you more or less eliminate the problem of fanboys and marketing idiots.
Anyone trained to sell can hype up the good/unique/awesome/etc features that a particular brand of laptops have to offer. But it takes real analysis and/or experience for a person to find out the weak points. Hence my argument for sincerity. As for the poll results, I'm not all that surprised that Acer is the worst, followed by HP and Apple. Acer has had a bad history of technical problems, and these things tend to stick, so suck it up Acer. I can't comment on HP because I've never used one. And Apple is really more of a specialized machine instead of the PCs most people prefer. (That being said, I personally know a guy who bought the new 17in MBP for Facebook.) My final comment is this: You could remove the irrelevant brands from the list to get more meaningful data, eg. Toshiba, Fujitsu, Packard Bell. Oh and I voted for Sony Vaio, because I think they're overpriced and overbloated Apple wanna-bes. |

QUOTE(UnderTheSun @ May 19 2010, 03:53 PM) ok, tq. if i may sum up.. (correct me if i'm wrong) Tell me, how can a Macbook with the usual C2D and so-so specs do graphics/video editing better than a newer better spec'd Windows-based laptop? I think it's more on mindset. The general public just thinks that Apple is "better at Design and artwork" rather than Windows, something I personally don't believe in1. macbooks are for graphic or office geeks 2. windows are for general people or gamers hmm.. looks like i'm in category 2. i also think that it's not worth buying computers for status. computers and cars become out-of-date in just a few years. if we wanna buy something for status, it will be a house. it will last long. Those who prefer superior hardwares will choose PC notebooks. i hate to bring this up on this thread, since it will probably attract another barrage of fanboyism...but for the sake of setting the record straight: Mac OS X is in no way more superior than Windows, and by that i mean Vista... ask any Windows hackers, and they'll say that Mac OS X is in fact easier to hack than Vista... MS is a pain in their back when Vista is introduced... and now with Win7, it's even harder to hack or spread malicious programs... the only reason y Mac OS X seldom lands on the hackers' radar is purely due to the sheer market share of Windows... and Apple is not very honest when comes to fixing up their OS... if vulnerabilities are found, MS would issue notices, proposes temporary solution, and issue a hotfix asap... Apple??? they would keep quiet abt it, then take their own sweet time to patch up the hole... sometimes it's not fixed when new version is out... on top of that they blame others for hogging their OS to a crawl (case in point, Adobe), and their legal team is trigger happy as well... |

We should start a thread that collects infromation about the worst laptop models, what problems people have experienced etc. Then we can be fair.
For example: X Brand notebook Y model | Problem | Action taken by X Brand | QUOTE Ok larrr... I back off... i know my laptop so lame till cannot see worm in Farmville. /like. LOL. This post has been edited by nitevision92: May 19 2010, 09:39 PM |

I vote for Lenovo. Horrible experience with my Thinkpad R400. Within 1 year, changed motherboard once (cannot turn on at all) and LCD twice (screen flickering, another time is whole screen white colour).
One cannot associate all Lenovo machines with IBM. IBM only support Lenovo Thinkpad notebook. Ideapad series is supported by another party. Lenovo's product quality cannot be compared to old IBM Thinkpad notebooks (old T40, T41, T42). |

I don't know why Acer is highly voted as worse laptop. I was ex Acer Travelmate user from 2003 till 2007. Even though have some cracks (drop a few times and also I hit it with my hand due to tension with programming hehe). But it was quite tough. Now I'm looking for new Acer laptop..currently really admire with 4740G. nice, solid and the price is reasonable :-)

You think I'd give a fcuk if your Proton(Acer) has better specs compared to my BMW(Macbook)?
There's a lot more that goes into a laptop than just specs.. I learnt that after switching my 7 month old toshiba to a Macbook. It's way more comfortable/interesting to watch a HD TV SHow on a Macbook compared to a Toshiba.... This post has been edited by atukbaru: May 23 2010, 05:14 AM |

Define "It's way more comfortable/interesting to watch a HD TV SHow" This depends on the codec and the lcd la You want real HD? make sure its a 1080P LCD when you buy a notebook... Sorry la.. Macbook for HD TV Show ONLY? Seriously? I'd prefer, I think most prefer an allrounder notebook. I had an Acer 5 years back, and yes, it was problematic and quality wise, deteriorated after one year..
But the latest bunch, looks solid and sturdy. They have learned their lessons I have a dell now though but I have colleagues who recently bought acers... and its good feedback from them |

If he wants to Back on topic- Acer's quality improvement over these years has impressed me. Solid products now, far cry from those defects we saw a couple years back. |

Cheap ass-ed Macs, like any other laptop will break. Steve won't award you with "Apple-tard of the Year" for telling us the opposite. Different people have different tastes and different perception of quality. You, just want to show off. In the end, everything breaks down and you'd have to buy a new one. What's the point of installing Windows 7 on a Mac and using it for HDTV stuff. That's not even 1% of the total capacity a Mac has. Then again, go and delude yourself that your Mac is "All-Powerful". We don't care. Not because we're jealous but because we know that ours are better. You're probably living off cup noodles after buying that Mac and finding out it's not all that it's hyped to be. You know that as a fact and you don't want to admit it.ps- to the idiot who said that Apple is not high-end because of specs-the term high-end is not limited to specs(this guy is a marketing noob).. If you say a Macbook is all about OSX... you got it wrong... Now prove that your Mac is "high-end". |

if you're buying a Laptop and the price is the main criteria, I'd suggest you stay with your cheapo Acer, coz cheapos won't be able to enjoy a macbook..
If the price of the laptop is the least of your concern, then hit the apple store and get your macbook... you'd enjoy it every bit... Lets say if I'm comparing a Acer with a Toshiba with exact specs.. The Toshiba would likely to be much more expensive that the Acer... you're probably paying for a "better" brand, customer service, reliability and many other things.. if you disregard most of the stuff, and just care about the specs, you're probably gonna get almost the same machine with a different tag... But if you add a Macbook in comparison, you're getting a totally different experience compared to Acer and Toshiba...(not including comparing the operating system at all) Most of the guys who voted for Apple and bashed Macbooks in this thread has probably never used a Macbook for a prolonged time.. They perhaps saw it at the showroom and couldn't go near or perhaps their friend/unty/grandmother owns a macbook sometime ago... They hardly had any experience with it rather than the online reviews and the price tag...get a life noobs... the point of this thread is to vote for brands that you have already used and had issues with.... Not brands that you can't afford for whatever reason. |

I learnt that after switching my 7 month old toshiba to a Macbook. It's way more comfortable/interesting to watch a HD TV SHow on a Macbook compared to a Toshiba.... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(atukbaru @ May 23 2010, 02:11 PM) based on the replies on this thread and the votes for Apple just because of it's price, I'd say this thread is filled with cheapos.... Malaysians... can't afford a premium priced laptop coz of various reason, just f*** it down with a "lousiest laptop vote"...LOL I think you've got it wrong ps- to the idiot who said that Apple is not high-end because of specs-the term high-end is not limited to specs(this guy is a marketing noob).. If you say a Macbook is all about OSX... you got it wrong... But other notebooks has better specs for Windows 7 |

I bought a brand new Toshiba at the end of last year... I dumped my Toshiba and never looked back....
ps- think for a moment... voting a Brand - the worst brand of the year, just because it's expensive,... is pretty sad... ps2-we all wear watches to keep track of the time.. most of the watches don't offer any extra features than time and date... that means, rolex is the lousiest watch of the year, coz of it's price. |

Stop comparing Apples with Acer, noobies. Don't compare apples with oranges...lol yeah sure, Windows may ve more holes in the system than Mac OS X, but at least MS takes the effort to announce that there's such vulnerabilities around to warn the users, provide a temporary solution, and issue a fix asap... and wat does Apple do? when a vulnerability is found, they keep quiet about it, take their own sweet time to fix it, whiles users can only hope that it will get fixed, and quite a number never get fixed as well... Mac OS X more secure than Windows??? face it, we re not in the age of XP anymore... since Vista is out, hackers have been cursing and swearing at MS as UAC has suddenly made Windows hacking much more difficult, and by-passing it is no easy task... and Win7 has upped the bar with XP mode, since virtualized systems are even harder to hack... so, that the 2 Steves for u... for now i choose Ballmer over Jobs... ^^ True, that. Although I like OS X, one pet peeve I have about it is how secretive they are about security issues, and how long they take to fix them. It doesn't help that the open source software components they use tend to be outdated either, leaving bugs in them that have long since been patched upstream.
I seriously think Apple and their users in general tend to be too complacent about security, no thanks to the 'Macs can't get viruses mentality'. It's only a matter of time before something serious hits them. |

I think there is an error in the title. Should be "worst", not "worse". By the way, back to the topic. I feel that the word "worst" is a little subjective. Worst in terms of what? Reliability? Price-specs-ratio? Merely price itself? I guess TS meant the word "worst" in terms of reliability. With regards to the debate between Windows and Mac OS X (or rather PCs vs Macs), here are my 2 cents. Seriously, people buy Macs for their OS and design, nothing else. In fact, if you haven't learnt how to use Windows or OS X, trust me, OS X is easier to learn. People who buy macs like the ease of usage, mainly for simplicity. In terms of reliability, they are not that reliable either ( iMac screen problems, macbook unibody cracks, macbook pros get pretty hot in tropical countries etc). Head on to macrumours forum or apple byte, and you'll see that there are quite a lot of people having defective units or problems after a period of usage. Service wise, I would say so so, not that great.
Some of you mentioned that Apple loves to keep quiet about Macs' problems, and secretly fix them. I have to agree with that. The recent Macbook white unibody is suffering the same fate as its predecessor, having the same crack problems as before. Although a lot of people are complaining about it, Apple still hasn't widely acknowledge the problem. Guess they are still figuring out what went wrong. For Windows vs Mac OS X, I would say OS X is still at its growing stage. The OS still can't utilize flash applications properly. Whenever Mac users load websites with flash or playing some flash games, their Macs tend to heat up pretty fast (I think it shoots up the CPU usage a lot). All the above are just my opinions and thoughts, and based on what I have read on the net. |

Actually, I'd be inclined to think that it's more about Apple's traditionally high profit margins rather than driver issues. It's no secret that Macs tend to be significantly more expensive than other non-Apple computers with similar specs. Drivers shouldn't be a problem as Apple only has a limited pool of hardware to test and support, and being a large player, they should have plenty of help from hardware vendors. The key thing here is that Apple provides a complete, (supposedly) seamless experience due to the tight control they keep over the hardware/software stack, and they charge a hefty premium on that. Other than their high profit margins, there isn't too much of a reason why they can't more powerful components.

QUOTE(xenon_aniki @ May 24 2010, 12:02 PM) Acer is the highest vote may due to a lot of consumer. but the ration might be different. this.says example acer total population = 50,000 acer total faulty = 5,000 ratio = 10% HP pavillon total population = 10,000 HP Pavillon total faulty = 1,000 ratio = 10% you will notice acer has greater total faulty, but in term of ratio is not differ |

I bought my Macbook Pro with the new 500gb solid state drive...
I tried searching everywhere else... I couldn't find any other notebook brand which offers the solid state drive... I think when you said Apple products are kinda not up to date, is untrue... Apple is among the only laptop provider which sold the solid-state-drive.. the latest and best hard drive around.. As for the ratio between the amount of users and amount of votes, I think Apple will turn out to be the worst Brand... coz most people voted for Apple because they hate the price and never bought it before.. I think we have a winner in this thread... Acer is the No.1 Brand in Malaysia, so it's fair to see them No.1 here... But Apple is No.3 here, and I think they sell little notebooks in Malaysia.. their monthly revenue is around RM5-10 million...(To open a online store in a country, Apple required RM5 million in sales monthly in that country...Malaysia just got their online store recently..). My 15" i7 Macbook with 500gb ssd 8gb ram and a few extra blings cost me just below 15k... worth every cent of it.. I think I'm the only one who owns it in Malaysia...hehe ps- I called the Apple Online Store and was told there were only 2 units of this price range that got shipped in SEA this year... I'm not against Apple or anything, and I'm even considering buying a 13" MBP myself. Still, I see no reason to trash Asus like that just because it's non-Apple. The specs aren't the same, so you're comparing apples to oranges.
That said, RM15k for those specs is outrageous. Apple has a habit of murdering users on the price of BTO upgrades, and I'm sure you could have just bought the stock machine and upgraded it for a few k less aftermarket. The HDD and RAM are considered user-serviceable, so it won't void your warranty/Apple Care. |

I heard lots of good stories about OSX, but it turns out to be quite sucky... they couldn't even get the mouse right..lol.. be a fanboy is not wrong, in fact, be a fanboy of APPLE is really something to proud of, i must say, APPLE is really a good companyBut I was impressed with the Macbook in terms of design, performance and quality.. best thing that came out from the production line since the superdollars.. The manufacturer of Macbooks is almost irrelevant. Apple designs it, buys its parts, and decides how it should be made.. Asus, quanta and Foxconn are contracted to just put the parts together... no biggie... Read up on Foxconn... they manufacture lots of stuff.. see if the products do resemble one another in any way... not a single trace that's it's from Foxconn.... after all, a company that have massive loyalty, godo profit, taking care of environment and even, taking care of ethics of the users, superb marketing i cant say more about an IT company? mobile technology company tat is clearly, we wont be able to complaint about APPLE, as a company, to customer, shareholders, and environment, it has done its part, too well. i mean it every word. but beware, i am not praising its product, at least, hardware. Apple, as St. Steve said, is the biggest mobile device company in the world, at CES 2010. however, focus on the word, device. does its hardware any exotic? well, iphone, ipad, Mac book nice desigh, but the spec? never a fighting point. so what makes them so successful? easy answer SOFTWARE undoubtedly, iphone os and mac os provide, lighting fast reaction, given the spec of hardware. its ease of use( i mean, after the learning curve), especially in conjunction with internet access to cloud computing, is unmatched. where else to find another iphone store, and soon to be hilarious ipad store with so many dedicated developers? to enjoy the ULTIMATE benefit of the service, Mac os and iphone os or wat ever platform APPLE provides, is a must. it is the software, naming the Platform apple developed that brings this company this successful. i trust many of the old guys know why APPLE FAIL in late 1980- early 1990. it went down together with IBM, for why? they forgot what the customers want, and their products are outdated. so we see hp, dell, and so on. ever since, APPLE take a step back and start to develop its now formidable platform, Mac OSX. So, as history told us, no, APPLE is not a good company when comes with improving its product specs. So, back to the question, u said, 1."The manufacturer of Macbooks is almost irrelevant" i say, correct, they dont give a damn about the spec. 2.APPLE design the device? yes, only the look the product spec is negligible, since nothing fancy there. APPLE always use, at best, slightly outdated hardware for its product. After all, Mac Os does not need powerful machine to run. 3."Asus, quanta and Foxconn are contracted to just put the parts together... no biggie..." sorry, these company has nothing related to APPLE, their project are from Intel, Nvidia, or so on...At best, u can say motorola, they did have some contact with apple to manufacture hardware So, i must conclude, tat you buy MBP, for solely the design, and at best, its ability to show off how expensive an item is, how premium the brand of product u bought. in plain word, u bought a LV, yet surely, Dior can put out something like tat, but cannot tag the same price. Even Asus Lamborghini cannot tag such a price. Wonder why? Asus is in Hardware business, it provide the best of its product with the reasonable price as the company seems fit, as what APPLE does. As for install win 7 in a MBP well, i must say, sorry to be a bit rude... do u know wat will u end up if u tell the APPLE community about this? do u know wat will u end up if u tell this to St. Steve? "dont buy my product anymore" Steve Jobs Sent from my Iphone Blasphemy. in the end, u ended up alone. no APPLE royal fanboy, i mean Royal, will back u up. ur showing off can only to those who knows less. yet they will eventually learned the truth, after all, if they do not they too, dont give a damn. SSD fast? no doubt... but tell me, even if i load Windows 30sec faster, wat can i do with that extra 30sec??? for the record my supposedly slow netbook already can boot up and be ready to use in 30sec, and if i am really that particular abt boot time, 20sec is piece of cake... 8GB RAM??? i ve used a desktop with 16GB RAM before, but no it's not that significantly faster than my laptop with 4GB, unless i am dealing with works like Photoshop... it's still pts back to the same qn, my laptop is made by Asus, so is MBP, but i dun ve an iBoiler to enjoy iCoffee on the go... this juz shows that there's some problem with Apple's design... dun blame Asus for that, they merely manufacture the MBP as according to the requirement of Apple... if Apple is fine with the end product, Asus juz mass produce according to that... any problems??? blame Apple... Asus has done their job right with MBP, it's Apple's fault who overlooked the problem with heat... Dell has already made the mistake, and obviously Apple dun like to learn as well... |

Macbooks were quite common in my university in London Well, that's true, there's no doubt that Macbook is famous (well maybe) in your U in London...but then again, only based on London, do you know worldwide window-based laptop are way ahead of Macbook...You think based on the poll, people voted Apple (Macbook) because of its price, please do read again few posts back and see why we listed Macbook as one of the worst laptop for 2010...Using Window in Macbook is just Go to Japan and see if Macbook is popular there or not? South Korea/USA and more Provide us with proofs & facts so that we can silent ourselves from talking back to you...just a simple comment ' famous in my U in London' is mere fiction This post has been edited by miahahaha: May 25 2010, 02:03 PM |

hot is true lo...
NV8m every brand also got... not a brand problem... but hot, yea, is true... on this note...Asus wins hand down but then...benQ got too less title la... only s42 and s57 got heat problem... but this only is already like all benQ had... N.B actually asus should consider make refrigerator or air-con... or car de air-con system.. This post has been edited by wanttobuylaptop: May 25 2010, 02:34 PM |

I'm surprised that Dell got so low votes, probably because of their good warranty or good quality control or what? I've heard many complaints about Sony Vaio and yet it got not that many votes here. Hmm... food for thought....
Also, can we stop this silly debate about Win vs Mac and learn to agree to disagree. The way I see it, both systems have their pros and cons and are geared towards different set of users. So, neither are better than the other and comparing both are like comparing apples and oranges. |

QUOTE(atukbaru @ May 26 2010, 06:00 AM) Can you please tell me what the OSX can do but WIndows can't?(stupid question-some idiots like to ask this) Yes, some lame question which people would ask over and over again, and i ask again why would people ask that question if the answer is pretty obvious In what ways are Macs performing better than Windows?(please don't talk about the bundled software) As for stability and performance, I think Win 7 is stable enough, and I have not seen my comp hang or the BSOD since Vista. I don't wish to argue on this, I'm truthfully asking, as if OSX is really good, I might need to give it another try. Why buy Macbook if you are not going to use OSX, got better options that can replace Macbook in terms of quality & price.... We are just amazed on how you would spend RM15k on Macbook only to dissed OSX (which is why Macbook exist in the first place) and permanently using Window in it Well, if you are happy with your investment in Macbook then so be it...no need to argue anymore as we are not arguing about OS here, more on laptop itself We are just stating that there are much more choices (with your budget) that can replace Macbook in terms of performance/price/quality/services Added on May 26, 2010, 6:32 amAs for your last sentence, once you got the hang of OSX, like others would said "You'll never turn back"...i use OSX/Window/Linux perfectly fine This post has been edited by miahahaha: May 26 2010, 06:32 AM |

What a 4k Asus can't do compared to a 4k Toshiba? If there is nothing, does that mean Asus or Toshiba is better? If both can do the same stuff, does that mean there is no difference? "can do"... f-king stupid lay man word. Almost all Laptops function similarly, and the difference between any 2 brands is getting blurrier over the years. There is difference between laptops produced by one brand compared to another, but the difference is usually marginal. Understand that, and please stop asking open ended questions which are meaningless.. This post has been edited by atukbaru: May 26 2010, 06:37 PM |

I think it has been discussed why Macbooks are priced in such ways.... Some guys here are just anti-apple, and they expect the Macbooks to fly to justify the pricing.
