be a fanboy is not wrong, in fact, be a fanboy of APPLE is really something to proud of, i must say, APPLE is really a good company
after all, a company that have massive loyalty, godo profit, taking care of environment and even, taking care of ethics of the users, superb marketing
i cant say more about an IT company? mobile technology company tat is
clearly, we wont be able to complaint about APPLE, as a company,
to customer, shareholders, and environment, it has done its part, too well. i mean it every word.

but beware, i am not praising its product, at least, hardware.

Apple, as St. Steve said, is the biggest mobile device company in the world, at CES 2010.
however, focus on the word, device.
does its hardware any exotic? well, iphone, ipad, Mac book
nice desigh, but the spec? never a fighting point.
so what makes them so successful?

SOFTWARE

undoubtedly, iphone os and mac os provide, lighting fast reaction, given the spec of hardware.
its ease of use( i mean, after the learning curve), especially in conjunction with internet access to cloud computing,
is unmatched. where else to find another iphone store, and soon to be hilarious ipad store with so many dedicated developers?
to enjoy the ULTIMATE benefit of the service, Mac os and iphone os or wat ever platform APPLE provides, is a must.

it is the software, naming the Platform apple developed that brings this company this successful. i trust many of the old guys know why APPLE FAIL in late 1980- early 1990. it went down together with IBM, for why? they forgot what the customers want, and their products are outdated. so we see hp, dell, and so on. ever since, APPLE take a step back and start to develop its now formidable platform, Mac OSX. So, as history told us, no, APPLE is not a good company when comes with improving its product specs.

So, back to the question, u said,

i say, correct, they dont give a damn about the spec.

2.APPLE design the device? yes, only the look
the product spec is negligible, since nothing fancy there. APPLE always use, at best, slightly outdated hardware for its product. After all, Mac Os does not need powerful machine to run.

3."Asus, quanta and Foxconn are contracted to just put the parts together... no biggie..." sorry, these company has nothing related to APPLE, their project are from Intel, Nvidia, or so on...At best, u can say motorola, they did have some contact with apple to manufacture hardware

So, i must conclude, tat you buy MBP, for solely the design, and at best, its ability to show off how expensive an item is, how premium the brand of product u bought. in plain word, u bought a LV, yet surely, Dior can put out something like tat, but cannot tag the same price. Even Asus Lamborghini cannot tag such a price. Wonder why? Asus is in Hardware business, it provide the best of its product with the reasonable price as the company seems fit, as what APPLE does.

As for install win 7 in a MBP
well, i must say, sorry to be a bit rude...
