jz a quick question...
what is the discount rate applicable during sales ?
cz yday i went into a shop and spotted a tag, and the discount if not mistaken, was 20%.

i tot during sale should be cheaper as 20% would be the normal rate applicable during non-sales period?

De.crystal, what sort of range/model that you are looking for? I got tag heuer's outlet here in uk.

are jap movement watches inferior compared to swiss movement watches?
yeap i tried looking up the first page. i think i'd rather buy watches in shops than online.
im thinking maybe orient mechanical watches are within my budget. maybe a decent swatch one too.
which shops should i go to find these watches? shops in big malls like midvalley/1U OR shops in sungei wang etc.?
last question, are fashion brand watches like CK or Guess considered of good quality?
thanks so much for your time. smile.gif

ans to qns 1: NO!
ans to last qns: I never go with fashion house brands. alot of them make in Asia. Swiss made generally mean better quality, still I stay clear of fashion brands

It is near impossible to find an used and original state Pam 3646. If yes, they usually fetch a hefty amount of dollars in auction.
interesting thread on PAM vintage. iirc I saw a post on watchtime on someone owning a WW2 piece, its worth alot of $$.

i like ck post-minimal....thinking to replace the movement to automatic......dont know whether work or not.....any sifu here can advise me on this issue? thank.
*
no idea, U need to open it up and check the size of the movement.
it would work so long U can find movement to fit in.
but that CK watch, I think auto no luck, manual maybe. if super thin, it would be hard looking for such movement.
thin movement are just easy to come by.

Epos produce too many homages and neglect their own DNA somehow, IMHO.

I mean DNA is their own design. They used to have a sub homage.
Few examples that I can see under their current collection in "Sportive"
Ref.3396 = sea dweller
Ref. 3398 = iwc 3717

own design many times != sales.
classic/timeless design like those ppl take it as homage. so many brands offer design like ref 3398.
ref 3365 U can say copy from Fortis.. then Fortis may copy from XYZ.
Ref. 3336 copy from Oris? I am sure some other brand have the same look, who started it its hard to trace.
open heart concept copy from Frederique Constant, just that they are unknown brands unlike Rolex/IWC/Pam no one really scream HOMAGE! tongue.gif

they offer over 80 different design for men under their brand. thats huge. even Longines/Oris/Tissot don't make offer such a big collection.
if U say they lack for focus, I buy that.
not many entry level brands focus on their own design. design that change too freq often result in poor resale value or just out of fashion.
10-15yrs ago Oris are cheap, their "DNA" was their WW2 watches. today's marketing prices of their watches went up by 4-5X. an entry level tag only go up by ~2-3X. those WW2 watches, not even sure who copy from who.. rclxub.gif

Ya agreed man, think lack of focus is more proper word.
For newer brand, I think Ball is true to its design.

Not really, watches here are tax free. Patryn might able to answer this better (luxury watch price in US).
