yeah...it's like apple...when people see macbook compared to a notebook, people will go "wow..an apple.."
although the notebook might just beat the hell out of the macbook...

Not and expert but 6.5k for a quartz? No for me.
Regarding maintanance/service cost, you can check with RSC.

ppl buy more than 1 watch for many reason. not really for value.
not all Rolex hold their value well.

ppl can choose to wear 2 watches.
or change every so often. weekly. daily hourly etc!

haha... really nice u guys... =) i just finished my stpm a month ago and trying to look for some part time job. hope to squeeze around 1k to buy a watch that i really like besides buying something for my parents. As i'm not financially available as twenties who begin to work after graduate, i hope i get a best watch within my limited budget. During my childhood i always change watch because it's really cheap (around RM30 i think?) so now i got a bag of broken watches in my drawer. = = Can't waste money like this again...
Currently wearing Polo Club watch which cost me hundreds. and it's REALLY OLD already...
hope to get a decent watch soon... (omg i'm keep ke po-ing here~)

Haha...Patryn has answered that for me...watches, like most other things doesn't hold their value well...unless you're collecting limited editions...
so yeah...i wear my seiko 5 and g-shock as beater...orient if i feel i want something dressier and seiko premier if i want something classier...
And seiko by no means any poorer than swiss watches....the finishing on on the seiko can beat any tissot any day...

well, mechanic swiss watches generally cost more.
a ETA 2824 cost ~US$120 while a quartz chrono may just cost US$50 or less!
then again, it only cost RM$10-30 to change a battery every 3yrs. for a Seiko kinetic changing a capacitor requires more work and may cost U ~100.
servicing a mechanical generally takes place every 5yrs, not sure how much it cost in locally but I think a private watchmaker maybe ~100-200.

if U thinking of getting a watch U can wear a long time. I would think go for something classical.
like a pilot watch. they don't get outdated, this style goes all the back to WW2!!

Malayisa is Non-EU (Europrean Union), therefore we pay 254.17

Need some advice..

I saw few people posted Laco watchess in the forum, the design is very attractive..Anyone here know where to get Laco watch in Malaysia?

BTW, any comment on Luminox watches? There're few model that really caught my attention. The pricing is quite expensive for me..Any trusted retail outlet/ online watch seller?

Seiko premier right?
i thought it's pretty common...a lot of dealers that carry Seiko will have some seiko premier watches...City chain also have....
which model you're interested at?
