the seiko ananta double retrograde the one with the 6r24 moevement. lol my dad doesnt really let me touch his stuff. will take some pics and write a short review about it when i get the chance to do so. its an understated watch. btw any comments about the new ananta moon phase?
*
that is not spring drive.
http://www.seikowatches.com/products/ananta/double_r_c.html

anyway, those Ananta are kinda mass produce for international market. the finishes are not as good as Grand Seiko or Credor.
I don't like the ananta moon phase watch design.

I like a classic GCLL997

how much will U be paying for the Gucci and Tag?
for both I think can get a nice Bulgari Diagono, I prefer that over these 2 watches.

I did state it is kind of mass produce. the production vol is certainly no Seiko 5 or Seiko premier.
the vol should be higher than those Japan Domestic model, since specific AD around the world do carry the collection.

this quartz chrono maybe not, prices online are more than RM5.5K.
AD usually don't carry NOS. that model above is current.

resale value for quartz watches are bad. U spend 4K on it use a few yrs.. maybe can sell 1k+

anyway a cheaper alternative would be Maurice Lacroix Watches - Les Classiques Day Date Month Chronograph
user posted image

are U like LiLFreaK going for Brand above everything? what other brands do you know?

else for ~4K can get. the cheapest branded with the same movement maybe Longines selling at 2X the price (http://shop.us.longines.com/watch-selector/l26734783.html)

I think okboy92 looking for chrono. With a quartz Tag Chrono he is looking at ~4.5-5K
for that price can get a nice Longines Hydroconquest chrono auto, then its sporty unlike the ML which is dressy.

I like the Longines Spirit Chrono, vintage look.

www.stowa.com for good value. as what patryn said earlier, there are many brands out there and page 1 is a list of them. it all boils down to what you are looking for. Wether your looking for a big brand, a good finished watch, or a watch that has resale value.

dont bother panerai. unless your going for their lineup with their own inhouse movements. i do own a panerai and all i can say that there is nothing really special about it. Fit and finish is so-so. And if your looking for brand. Panerai's aint that popular among people our age as well. (i'm in college too). With 4 k, you can get a pontos day date automatic for that price in a local AD. i personally like ML. i find their fit & finish is good and even better than the likes of tag and some of the omegas.

NOS go to varies AD and check them out, no special place other than collectorstime.com (they do not sell Local now, just export even they are base in KL)
still a student, brands like Sinn, Damasko invest in making a good solid case that is harder than regular steel.

it is possible just not big brands such as Panerai, Omega etc.
many brands listed on page one are small markers to keep cost low U can only get the online direct.

plenty of good reviews on fit and finished on these brands.
even Epos, few brands blue their screws. ML pontos are not as nice as their masterpiece collection.
http://forums.watchuseek.com/f67/epos-3241...iew-261096.html

U can get a quality Damasko, direct thru them or
http://www.damasko.de/eng/index.html
http://www.gnomonwatches.com/Product-view.asp?id=27

Sinn 256, U can find it in Hour Glass (someone order it online from sinnwatches.com)

or Guinand (high quality movement is Rhodium plated, cost of Rhodium is higher than Gold), can even customize watch, they used to make Sinn watches, perhaps even Bell and Ross. Owner today is founder of Sinn.

Does anyone know if it's safe to purchase watches from online retailers? Specifically, I was looking at watchco.com for a Mondaine Sport I Gents Day Date watch.

Only reason I ask is because the price online seems quite alot cheaper compared to market rate at shops here.
