Hi Everyone

Thumbs up to Bro Ura for the really wonderful compilation of photos of huge T. Bha males.

I feel a kind of excitment, a certain rush of ...love (FS love) and I just have to look again and again at all these huge FS males. What struck me when I look at the photos is that each and every of these FS has ridiculously long and proud arms, every pair of arms exceptionally beautiful. I am also privileged to have seen and felt these legends on my humble hands, namely Raksasa, Amon, Takeshi and Mentor.

So who do I vote? Well I am naturally biased and my vote goes to Mentor as the photo shows his beautiful long arms. I can still remember the feeling when he was newly caught and in the container...then I saw the wild boar and manage to video the wild boar.

Hi Everyone

Some new FS additions, Prata (caught yesteday - Mandai), THE BEAST (ML sized, caught yesterday - Nirva##) and Seven (caught today-Mandai). Actually today not suppose to hunt and woke up early and think of hunting only.....so went to hunt. Significance of FS name, Prata was my breakfast yesterday, THE BEAST...no particular reason and Seven caught on the 1st day of seventh month.

Hi everyone,

Im really tired and upset throughout the weekend, thinking of the subsequent disaster that took a ride on me for the pass 2 weeks. Gf Got robbed in front of house, car break down on the eve of going to sg (took a different car to sg), kompany lost its arm tip, my best chop blocker ran away through loose net, Astro my newly caught chopster lost its leg when the housing cap fell on top of its body, bumble bee escape....thats not it, lost my autopass in sg and had to make a police report.....hmm, I hope it will stop there, plzz...cant take no more

My body gave up hunting plus the nagging from my gf about gho*t month, I think Im gonna stop hunting this month. Probably like bro
Seng say, they sometimes follow you thats why you 'soi'. didnt even dare to meet bro Ricky at our usual spot - cemetery....

Nevertheless, it was still a good outing to sg having to witness merlion fighting with other fs. Bro Kim really have many big fses. My only regret is I cant have bumble bee fighting with a same size.. .

p/s : congrats bro Randy for catching a long arm fs, Im feeling happy for you . Bro Ricky, ur fs fighting will is really strong. Ur a good trainer indeed and hope u can get a big one soon, thanks for all the help in sg... and bro Ura, your pictures really make me wanting to go hunt again but I cant, perhaps this month I should take lots of clear shot pics instead of hunting, lol . Bro Derrick, hope u will be able to join the pack more frequent, nice to meet you.

Yes me also a supporter for Long arm & big head Fs..

I think the best symmetry of FSes as:
Takeshi,Titan,Merlion,Mentor & Sky. Not forgetting another giant,Terminator ,too bad we don't have his photo on grid,but based on posted video he have the size & solid body scale too.

Now come to the vote,Takeshi & Titan both also my favorite..really hard for me the choose becos both of them i dint c it with my own eyes. If based on the photo i think Titan have a pair of very long & thick arms..so he have my vote too.

Hello my friend..don't be so disheartened la..sometimes i also facing the same things like u do,I used to "kiap" my newly caught ML & caused it left only one arm,I drown two newly caught L sized Fs to dead in my wet plastic bag too.
The escape of Bumble bee partly also my fault,The box u housed it was done by my lousy skill ended up loosen net,I'm the one to blame actually..but over trusted my skill is ur own fault la.

Yeah take a month rest to chase out all unlucky things fr u,after that show us some XL's when back in action..but pls Do not varnished fr our forum bro!!

Thanks for ur very kind comment,I'm not yet an expert to train my Fs in fighting skill,those can fight well is the hunting hard-hard & many-many(sry for my English) to choose the best fighter among them..like recently caught an ML Gamma ,no matter how i try it still insist his own way: fight like ah gua. released it together with some of "her sisters" this afternoon. Now I only have some newly moult young spider on hand,think fight with bro randy's 5th king also got problem,got one ML newly caught named The Beast somemore,garang sia...

Wish me good luck on next hunting bro,I can smells the big males season is coming soon!!

I really feel sorry for all the things that happened to you lately.. but afterall it is your Own safety and your GF's safety are the Most Important amidst of all these disasters.. FS can always catch again, many Huge Males are still waiting for you there.. and $money$ can always be earned back too.. Try to see things in a Positive Way and dun think so much now..

Yeah, our side in SG also refraining from certain spots in this Lunar 7th Month.. but for you i also suggest you take a month's break first, maybe in the free time you can think more clearly what to do and not to do next when you're ready again for FS, probably in Sep.. FS are very delicate creatures, have to be Extremely 细心 in order not to cause any harm to them.. so by playing FS can train you to be better in this aspect, and even more if you're keeping FS Slings..

Thanks for all the encouraging words bro Ricky & bro Ura. It wasn't your fault bro ricky,
it was me being too lazy too make some nice housing, instead
I put all my focus on hunting and couldn't be bothered about my lau yar
housing (u know how my housing look like, yours is the best among all my housings, lol)
I will learn my lesson and hopefully come back strong.

Bro Ura, I hope to be among the long arm owners soon but meanwhile I would like to show a pic of saphire,
my fs with the longest arm caught so far. keep on posting the long arms, I cant wait for this month to be over







p/s : dont worry, this little incident will not disarray me. Fs has been apart of me since I was a kid, they never left neither will I forgo this hobby .

Hi Everyone

Yo Bro Jason, one disaster after another and I feel bad too. I also feel bad as I could not company you when you make the long trip all the way here to SG to fight FS. Maybe it has to do with ghost month (then) approaching as I also had my fair share of very anxious moments last week. Most importantly, we are all safe and sound.

What a fantastic job Bro Ura did with the photos of long arms L sized FS. It must have taken many hours of love and dedication to compile the photos and I have multiple FS orgas# each time I see those beautiful pictures. It also made me go to fantasy mode where I imagine having a few of these L sized Fs in my team and being King.

I would be scaling down on my hunt during this 7th month, particularly at Nirva##. I managed to not hunt during lunch yesterday and today but surely next few days cannot resist a lunch time hunt in bright day/noon sunlight near the main road. One home video to share:-

Wah! Great effort there by Ura to do reviews on past kings. Really impactful to see all the past kings and their glory all compiled in one post. Thanks a lot for sharing! After seeing the photos, makes me miss having a fs like BigHead.

Today met up with Bro Jason for a couple of short hunts, to places he went before. We didn't get much but had a couple of good fights with S sized fs. But I can see after hunting so much and going down to Singapore a couple of times, Bro Jason standard for fs size have been raised. Next time we must really go to places where the kings thrive.

Bro Jason also past me the big Hyllus Keratodes male(dead) from Bro Seng. Is Bro Seng = Peter Wong from facebook? For those who didn't know about the capture of the Hyllus Keratodes in Singapore, please visit http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/LeopardTiger/ as this facebook group is also a good platform for discussion of fs and jumping spiders because facebook is more internationally known and many of the hongkees post there.

Here are the comparison photos with the one I had since last year(dead and well-preserved)

Mine looks slightly bigger and arms are longer. Both I presume should have shruken abit since being alive.

With this, I would like to say that for a long time now I have been surfing the net looking at ways to preserve the body of jumping spiders. There are many ways from preserving them in 70-80% alcohol(this is the scientific way, 70% better for morphology but no so good for DNA and 80% good for DNA but bad for morphology) to having them encased in clear acrylic. I read that the body of spiders usually cannot be preserved like insects by simply drying them out because spiders have SOFT bodies unlike insects which have a hard exoskeleton. I myself have tried to keep the bodies of many of my past fs but many of them eventually rotted(after many months) and I can see tiny tiny spots moving where the body rots. Not sure what those stuff are but looks like they're the cause of the rot.
However after much reading and trial and error, so FAR, I think this may be the most simple and best way to preserve the body of a spider, more specifically a jumping spider which I achieved with this male Hyllus Keratodes. You can see it is quite stiff which I keep in an airtight container.

This method which i stumbled upon is just this simple
1. After the spider died, just spread it out or position it the way you want and just leave it in the open to dry out.
2. After a couple of days or maybe even weeks, once you can see it is stiff, use some alcohol(I used methylated spirit which is 95% alcohol which can buy from a pharmacy) on a cotton bud to wipe the body and legs and then just keep it in an airtight container. I got this tip from here...

That's it. I am not sure wheather it works for fs as I haven't tried it out on them yet. I asked Bro Peter to keep in a airtight container after it died but I realized that is not so good. The Hyllus Keratodes from him actually had all the legs curled in but then they were all very soft so I had no problem opening them out again. But being soft means there is moisture which may cause rotting faster. If the spider is kept straight away in a small airtight container after dying, that means the moisture from the body have no way of escaping and will allow bacteria which is normally present everywhere to attack the body. I also noticed a foul smell coming from Bro Seng spider too. Hence I think the proper way should be to dry it out first before keeping in an airtight container. And everytime it is taken out to be examined, it should be wiped with alcohol and let the alcohol dry before keeping it again. I hope to try it on some fs next, maybe can position them in a fighting stance while drying them out. As you can see from my H. keratodes, the front legs have been preserved in a slightly raised position from the ground. If anyone of you try, don't forget to show us the results!
Just to add, for big spiders like tarantulas, what hobbyists do is to have the guts removed(by cutting the underside of the belly and then stuff the abdomen with maybe cotton wool) before preserving but I didn't need to for this H keratodes which is much smaller than a tarantula.
