I do that web application because programming market very competitive today and i need something strong to support my abilities in programming .

how about my chance to get that particular job because i dont have any work experience yet , except six month as junior programmer ?

Anybody mind to share how long of working experience period (in years)
do you normally put in your resume...

I'm talking about those who have working for at least 3 to 5 years...

I myself put the latest 4 to 5 years although I have about 8 years of experience.

Thanks...

terse and to the point would be good.

since u r new to jo market, why not let jobstreet generate the resume, and u export to word doc and touch up?
maybe put in a paragraph or so summarizing ur strengths and ur objective

any reason why u do not put the full duration?
ifu worked 8 years, put the 8 years in. surely ur tenure at watever company is worth a mention, at the very least.

i think better u finish up 1 year period in the 1st company.. then only proceed to apply another one, that will make your resume become so interesting...

I wonder whether it is advisable to place salary history in the resume. I've read books and articles that advise ppl not to disclose the salary history, even if the company ask for it.
However, this action could increase the risk of not getting an interview.

From my understanding from HR frens, it is not their primere concern, especially if it is big company, and they manage with a resume application system, they will usually filter it by thecriteria they looking for, and from there they will read the further detail of the filtered group,

If you did your cover letter nicely, but u didnt feel in the field of information they identifying, you might losing the chances too,

Added on March 24, 2010, 3:37 pmi think you may include in email if you want, but they will usually screen your resume to identify the essential detail they want, before they proceed to your cover letter,

As for HR perpective, they always preferred that information to be provided, or at least, an expected salary, this is to enable them to justify with the budget they have todecide whether to call you or not for the interview,

If your resume is really appealing, they might call you up even you did not have your track of salary history provided,

Are you referring to resume or cover letter or naming convention of your attached resume?

You can place them right after your references.
