if u want posh then u can settle for Laguna..if not there are other cheaper options if budget constraint. maybe redang holiday offer more afforadble stay or redang beach..
my comin trip will be next wed so be staying again in redang beach..everything is fine...no complaints..of u don expect red carpet  biggrin.gif eveything is clean and cosy...

Really? How come I find the price with Laguna and the other resorts have not much difference? Their standard room package is only 330++ which is the same as other resorts. I was just wondering if Laguna offering almost the same price with other resorts then Laguna would definitely be a better choice right?

Laguna has to lower their price to compete with other chalets.

Rooms are probably more comfortable, but you might be rubbing shoulder with other tourist in their place and their boats going out for snorkeling, they have the most number of tourist..

other chalets are worth thinking off, as they tend to run on smaller scale.

Most of the time incluing night yu should spend time on the beach!! so does not matter if the room is elegant or not..

I just back from redang. It is indeed a nice place to go snorkelling or diving. thumbup.gif

For those who are planing to go for snorkelling, please remember that you can help protecting coral reefs by following these simple rules:

1. Don't touch corals - No stepping/walk/stand/sit/have any body contact with corals, as corals are living animals and are EASILY damaged even by mere touch.

p/s: I am amazed by the fact that the guide brought us out for snorkelling didn't warn us about this. vmad.gif I have to tell my friends and explain to them.

2. Take all your rubbish back to shore - Plastic bags are lethal as they might wrap around coral.

3. Avoid kicking up sand - It will damage corals and other reef organisms.

For more information, you all can "google" information such as "protecting corals".

Besides that, I find that it is interesting to read and know the types of coral reefs before going for snorkelling. It is much more fun by knowing the name of the coral and even the fish u see when snorkelling. biggrin.gif

Never wear sunblock in any water(sea) activities...This kill the coral. Throw away the SPF protection, let us ugly but not the nature.

Regarding sun blocks, yes...it'll damage the life forms in the sea. If you think you fear the sun and becoz of that you have to put sunblock, think of how many sea lifeforms you're killing by putting on sunblock.

And yes, I am going this Wednesday night. Be back on Sunday.

ps: JC, rest more k tongue.gif

here's what i think abt the island:

sunblock: yes they destroy corals, huge amount of tourist jamming in and the number of bottles of sunblock indirectly dump into the sea.. thats really a lot

sewage: during peak season, redang's always pack with ppl and its known that sometimes the sewage system cannot support and they have to leak it out into the sea.. i've not done any research on this but i'm doing it soon for my class project

aesthetic pollution: over-building of resorts and putting in elements which arent natural to the island eg: Disco (consider chalets to be ok, in small numbers) spoil the natural sights of the island..

transportation: boats transporting tourits, the grease and oil that leaks out of the boat.. u know what happens next..
