I heard better experience from my colleagues who went to perhentian compared to redang (i myself went to lang tengah)

based on their feedback i'd recommend perhentian..

I just came back from redang, overall exp is good...stayed in redang beach resort, u can try it as it supposed to be the 2nd best in redang. Dont go for the others....

However, i got a friend who just came back from perhentian, stayed in Bubulong, feedback was the resort was pretty bad...

redang cost me 360 for triple sharing, while perhentian is 400 for quad sharing....

Both island's coral has suffered bleaching due to global warming.

So judge it yourself which do you prefer....both water are still as clear as water...

In redang, u can find fishes at very shallow places as well.

Depends on the spot.
The 1st spot I went was rather disappointing. Dead corals with very few fishes.
The 2nd - Marine Park is superb
The 3rd - Also ok. Still have varieties of corals with spots of cold and warm waters.

just bek from redang bay on friday. overall the resort is okay.. food is okay, room is okay for the rm 300 package. 3D/2N

the snorkeling area is just right in front of the resort.

but personally i feel the marine park is not that nice. suxxx coz the reefs are mostly dead. u have to go deeper to see preetier ones but the water is cloudy.. i think coz too many ppl feel them.

i'm comparing it with pulau sapi of kota kinabalu.. seriously it's preetier there and u can see live colourful corals at shallow water.

got to know a chick named jessica during snorkeling.. but haiya... didn't ask for number.. regret to the maxxx. juz kidding. laugh.gif

Just got back from Pulau Kapas last weekend.

Very very nice place to relax and kick off some stress.
Quiet and tranquil place.
You can even go there for an easy day trip since it is only a 10-15 minutes boat ride from the mainland.

Some pictures I took:

For better scuba/snorkeling/comfort, you are better off going to Redang since they are more commercialized, but also much more expensive.
Also, the water is clearer in Redang as Redang is much further away from the mainland than P. Kapas.

Yes it is safe during this time but not in langkawi at that point of time..esp if u go there via Ferry...Northe western Monsoon is currently hitting the west coast & thereafter North eastern monsoon will hit East coast sometime around November to March

In that case, it is not advisable to go Pulau Payar? I thought Pulau Payar is all time spot with no season closing?

No-lah, although it is consider monsoon period in West cosat but the wave is not so strong compare to East coast coz blocked by Sumatera.. biggrin.gif ..only occasionally u wil hear during this season, ferry accidents due to strong wave as previous years....

But no joke esp those traveling to Phuket during this season..Avoid going to Phi-Phi Island from Phuket....this is from my realife experience when I landed on phuket sometime end of Jul' 1996....First the sea is calm esp at Phuket fishing port but once in the middle of Andaman sea, the feery wth >150ppl started hitting high wave and no announcemnt from the skippers except the attandance stated distributing plastic bags!! At the height of the wave, everyone was shouting & can see the wave was even higher than the ferry!! I was thrown & almost hitting the ceiling of the ferry and almost all of us vommiting....this was my most scary moment shocking.gif shocking.gif

around early oct ,redang's beach will be very clear. just came back from redang for diving ,the wave is so strong,i was inform thats because there is earthquake in indo .almost cant come back from diving sweat.gif but i still recommend,if u looking for a very good environment, redang is the choice, unless u are looking for cheap alcoholic drinks biggrin.gif

btw, summer point's food quality falls badly after they changed the cheft there. but the live band performance there still in very good shape brows.gif
