Hi...
Planning to go to either redang or lang tengah end of July with a group of 5 people maybe. Can anyone suggest me a cheapo chalet available there and the price....at least their phone number. cant find one in web site for a cheapo place. Is there any camp site available at lang tengah or redang and to whom should i contact to camp? About snorkeling, was wondering not to take include in package coz dont want to be attached with the time that is scheduled by the package. Is it more expensive? Actually, what is the pro/cons of taking snorkeling thats already in the package compare to find on our own. Thanks... |

QUOTE(silbizkit @ Jun 18 2007, 03:49 PM) Hi... Langsari or Redang Lang. there is only 4 resorts in Lang tengah island.Planning to go to either redang or lang tengah end of July with a group of 5 people maybe. Thanks... if you have your own equipments then u dun have to rent. but if you wish to go seperately, i am afraid they might charge higher. usually resorts will have a set of time for u to follow onto their boat out to sea. Langsari takes u to pulau pinang marine park on the 2nd day. Even so, you will still have plenty of time for yourself to explore the island. conclusion is, take the whole package. safe money and safe headache from thinking what to do next. Take it, do it. Plus, you can always choose not to go out for snorkeling. ps: I have Langsari rates. you can add me on msn: jc929@hotmail.com |

QUOTE(juichuan @ Jun 20 2007, 11:05 AM) I think this is what they are talking about QUOTE Bioluminescent Ostracods (also know as Firefleas/Sea firefly) Found at front beach of Redang Reef Resort, The guide call as blue sand. Ostracods are microscopic crustaceans, typically 0.2mm to 2mm long but are readily fossilised and can occur in enormous numbers in some sediments. Ostracods inhabit in aquatic environment use bioluminescence during mating where the males will attract females to them. Males ostracods flash in a sequence as they swim to attract females. Bioluminescence is blue colour because all colors of light do not transmit equally through ocean water, so if the purpose of bioluminescence is to provide a signal that is detected by other organisms, then it is important that the light be transmitted through seawater. Blue light transmits best through seawater. |

My gf and i want to go on a holiday at the beach during mid august. Any island which you guys would recommend? just wanna go there free and easy and enjoy the beach. Snorkeling would be great too. Any packages which you guys would recommend? what's the best way to get to the embarkation point (jetty). We'll be going from KL. Our budget is about less than RM 1k for the whole trip for 2. |

Try to search for the past post discussing on Perhentian/Redang/Lang Tengah...the answers are all there...there are even link of a LYN member on his personal blogs and his recommended beaches at Perhentian/redang & lang Tengah...try pg 2 or 3 I think...
For me it is more towards the beaches, water quality ,the sceneries & the hotel comfort.. There few recommended beaches & hotels either at Redang or perhentian...check out the blog...I try to find also & post later if I can get the link... This post has been edited by stimix: Jul 3 2007, 11:30 AM |

There is an exctensive discussion on Perhentian/Redang/Kapas/Rhu/Gemia oledi...
Anyway it is located beside Pulau Kapas...I think only ome resort there (probably 1 Island 1 resort style similar to Pangkor Laut) I hv not been to this Island but I hv been to Kapas which is consider the mother to Gemia (sid by side) ..If based on Kapas..OK-OK sahaja...blueish water but NO Coral! |
