I just came back from Perhentian Island. It is really disappointing. I made my booking through Malaysia Resorts and at first i thought i got a good deal. RM400 for Perhentian, Lang Tengah and Redang. But things turn out to be different. Before I went, I heard that  Perhentian Island is more beautiful than Redang but when i reached the resort (New Cocohut Chalet) I m really disappointed. The water is so so comparing with Redang's. The beach is something no need to be mention. Full of dead corals, instead of walking with your bare feet and enjoying the sands around, i felt irritated and pain.

The people there brought us to snorkeling, and I can say that the corals are overrated. Most of them are dead. Maybe the resort people just simply bring us to some nearby spot that is convenient to them. The fishes there are not that much comparing with Redang. If you want to enjoy beautiful corals i suggest you better go to Tioman. I went to Tioman Perhentian and Redang and Tioman has the best corals so far.

I got a mix emotion during my snorkeling trip, the 1st day, the guide was nice and helpful. Being friendly enough and try to assist us as much as he could. But the second day guide is really a piece of shit. Instead of guiding us through out our snorkeling session, he and his partner went and guide another group of people who belongs to different resort( most of them are girls, damn it, horny old *******)

When they took us to the shark point, we didnt manage to see any sharks but the water is infested with jellyfish, and its quite dangerous as the other group of customer of Cocohut got stung by the jellyfish.

The resort environment is not that desirable too, hot water is not available although the people from Malaysia Resorts told me that the rooms that we paid for is equip with water heater. The room has lots of Mosquitoes so be sure to pack some mosq repellent before you depart.

Overall, I m not satisfied with the service provided by my agent ( Malaysia Resorts) but there's still something good that I would like to mention, the people of Cocohut Chalet are friendly and nice people who try their best to assist me in everything. So if you plan to go to perhentian, please dont stay in the beach of New Cocohut. I suggest you stay at the other side where Flora Bay is located or you can stay in Perhentian Kecil Long Beach where resorts such as Bubu are located. The beach over there is better and at there's some night life over there,  party and performance by the resort's people.

i stayed in Pehertian Island Resort. Nice beach, clear and clean water.
The food is horrible.
The worst part is the JELLYFISH. Spoil my snorkeling trip.

oh okay... do i need to pay extra for the resort bus? and do they have a booth there at the bus station? alittle blur at night cuz we'll be reaching there in the morning...
*
no need to pay extra charge for the resort bus. i don think they hav booth at there. u just need to look for ur bus or van named redang bay on the side of the vehicle. don woli the KT bus station not so big actually. easy to search for ur bus 1. the travel agent will giv u the driver hp no. if i not wrong. u can try to call the driver once u reached there. brush ur teeth b4 u depart bcox u going to sleep in the bus and will reach there around 6.30am. biggrin.gif

Redang Lang has line dont worry bout Digi or Maxis, but in the room u wont get any signal. been there like 4 times already..diving and snorkelling lar...is either u get a bus from Putra station or take the resorts bus which will be a little more expansive. for Redang Lang the last time i went was RM50 a way where Pudu or Putra charges are about RM30. and the Redang Lang bus picked me up from Leisure Mall itself..which is like 10minuts from my house..so convenient biggrin.gif

Just wanna ask about Redang Pelangi Resort. How was it? Nice? What about the stretch of beach in front of the resort?

BTW, I'm a vegetarian. Will the resort's restaurant cater to the needs of travellers under the same category as me? Pls elaborate in detail. THX.

hie, me n my friends are planning to get away from the busy city life and enjoy at beaches. Initial plan are either would be Redang or Perhentian island.
After reading this thread , but there are still alot more i do not understand, hopefully you guys can answer my question.

Hopefully v make up for this trip, not confirm yet but very very interested.
This is gonna be our 1st trip to beach holiday, so v wouldnt want to be disappointed.

1) Understand June & July is peak season, how abt during August? in term of pricing & weather?.

2) If v going by plane from LCCT - Redang is Kuala Terengganu airport and Perhentian is Kota Bharu rite?

3) Does travel agency package include transportation from the airport (shuttle) and (speedboat) to and return from the island?

4) Which beach are great for snorkeling? Redang or Perhentian besar or Perhentian kecil?

5) Which beach are happening during day & night? Redang or Perhentian besar or Perhentian kecil?

6) Which beach are more peaceful & relaxing ?

REDANG RESORT

Anyone comment on great experience which resort are great in term of pricing, accomodation and food?

So far alot of forummers comment on Laguna Redang Island Resort, which is alittle expensive but above average accommodation and package.

Pls comment on other resorts. (lower budget, great services etc)

PERHENTIAN RESORT

So far checked on Bubu long beach, and the package is a little expensive. From the picture seems great resort. any comment.?

Arwana perhentian resort, package seems good with providing snorkeling equipment consist of mask, life jacket and snorkel.

any others recomended resorts?

Mostly discussed criteria on resort like good food which of course not expect on big tiger prawn or lobster but the food at least consider tasty above average.
Air condition room and swimming pool (u might ask why should v go to pool when we are at beach) as answer is bcoz most of us doesnt know how to swim sweat.gif

and another is which travel agency provide reasonable price and quality services?

Would like to hear more detail experience from u guys. Thanks in advance guys. notworthy.gif
