Wah..normally where do the jellyfishs appear? Everywhere? or just in deep waters?
*
Apparently the jelly fish is common now in the area of Shark Point (perhentian Kecil) and Turtle point...the jelly fish near Shark Point are smaller but they float about near the surface, can be seen from the boat. I was there for snorkelling...there were about 30 of them visible.
Those at the Turtle Point has much longer tentacles...they tend to swim about 8-10 feet below. So it's ok.

as far as i know, most of the resorts in lang tengah should be fully booked by now. i called d'coconut 2 weeks ago they only left executive deluxe room which will cost RM500+. for redang lang, my friend who is an agent said the room she booked for me is the last quad-sharing room. as for lang sari, maybe u can ask juichuan.

i'm going end of may also....which is the starting of the school holidays where i have to pay RM40 surcharge per nite! vmad.gif

rent of snorkeling gear is RM10 per item in redang lang.

depends on what's your activities....they have other optional activities like fishing, beach volley ball, canoeing, island hoping and such but have to pay extra.... but if u wan happening island, redang will be a better choice for u.....at least there got more resorts and humans....

I personally feel that Redang main Island is much better than Lang Tengah....The water although crystal clear but not bluish it is more towards green -crystal cclear so not to my expectation. Infact on the 2nd day the water suddenly turned milky white due to strong wave (But I went there during ealry bird season...Mar'06 and sea wave is still not really calm yet....)

U can't do much at lang Tengah - At nite in order to watch TV, u need to go to the restaurant, where there is a common TV for all. There is a pub there but I din enter ..

Food is so-so only dun expect much. Once u reach KT u need to contact the travel agent & they wil arrange a van/car to pick u to Merang jetty which is about 25KM North of KT.

thanks but what u mean book in jetty?
book with who? through the offices there?
*
At the jetty, there are numerous travel agent offices...so book there-lah..If u took a ferry to the destination w/out checking availabilty u might end up wth no room! And in order to go to anothere resort u probably need another ferry! No road on the Island except for the only road from Redang Jetty to Berjaya Redang Resort.

corals wont die if no ppl kencing during snorkelling. the beach boys told us 1. and cannot pick the corals or even dead corals also. can kena saman 1.

anyone can help?

I just came back from Perhentian Island. It is really disappointing. I made my booking through Malaysia Resorts and at first i thought i got a good deal. RM400 for Perhentian, Lang Tengah and Redang. But things turn out to be different. Before I went, I heard that Perhentian Island is more beautiful than Redang but when i reached the resort (New Cocohut Chalet) I m really disappointed. The water is so so comparing with Redang's. The beach is something no need to be mention. Full of dead corals, instead of walking with your bare feet and enjoying the sands around, i felt irritated and pain.

The people there brought us to snorkeling, and I can say that the corals are overrated. Most of them are dead. Maybe the resort people just simply bring us to some nearby spot that is convenient to them. The fishes there are not that much comparing with Redang. If you want to enjoy beautiful corals i suggest you better go to Tioman. I went to Tioman Perhentian and Redang and Tioman has the best corals so far.

I got a mix emotion during my snorkeling trip, the 1st day, the guide was nice and helpful. Being friendly enough and try to assist us as much as he could. But the second day guide is really a piece of shit. Instead of guiding us through out our snorkeling session, he and his partner went and guide another group of people who belongs to different resort( most of them are girls, damn it, horny old *******)

When they took us to the shark point, we didnt manage to see any sharks but the water is infested with jellyfish, and its quite dangerous as the other group of customer of Cocohut got stung by the jellyfish.

The resort environment is not that desirable too, hot water is not available although the people from Malaysia Resorts told me that the rooms that we paid for is equip with water heater. The room has lots of Mosquitoes so be sure to pack some mosq repellent before you depart.

Overall, I m not satisfied with the service provided by my agent ( Malaysia Resorts) but there's still something good that I would like to mention, the people of Cocohut Chalet are friendly and nice people who try their best to assist me in everything. So if you plan to go to perhentian, please dont stay in the beach of New Cocohut. I suggest you stay at the other side where Flora Bay is located or you can stay in Perhentian Kecil Long Beach where resorts such as Bubu are located. The beach over there is better and at there's some night life over there, party and performance by the resort's people.
