Anyone with outdoor enclosures? Mind to share pics? Am taking note to improve my "paradise". Setting up a higher fence asap. What else?? Planting hibiscus and tomatoes already. The water after rain seems to get stuck in the enclosure. Any tips to solve this matter?

scrap the tomatoes - parts other than the fruits are toxic.
as for the rainwater problem, you either move the enclosure to higher ground or make the inside of the enclosure slope a few degrees and construct a drain at the lowest point. if those are still not applicable, raise the enclosure by making a false bottom using layers upon layers of large gravels/drainage fabric/any free draining material. and the keyword to all those solutions is flowpipe. |

Hey guys, I was thinking when suddenly it hit me...
Last time when I was so clue-less about caring turtles and it was the my first time having to own a turtle, the shopkeeper suggested me a small plastic tank as an enclosure for it... Man, who knew? The next thing I cared it but without a proper one, and in a short time it passed on...I wished I wasn't so stupid that time, believing their words when instead I can google it. The sad thing is that, right now, I still see many shops labelling all those little Red Ear Sliders as 'GREEN TURTLE'! What the HECK is that suppose to mean? Babies of the really BIG SEA GREEN TURTLE THAT LIVES IN THE OCEAN? It doesn't have FINS! Worst, some still suggest to customers to have that stinkin' tiny small little plastic tank with coconut tree in it when they first buy their litle turts! I was stupid that time, still following that stinkin' label, searching up for green turtle in google, but it didn't turned up what I need. Luckily in time when I had my 3rd turtle (sadly the 2nd died too,RIP) I managed to spot a picture of a turtle resembling to mine, and it revealed to be a red ear slider... Do you think this is a really BIG PROBLEM? People should really know what they're buying them as pets before they realise its too late to keep'em, same goes for dogs... All turtle lovers, I hope you could suggest your opinions on this plight..Thanks! |

Nobody wanna reply on my question?
Oh well... I don't think you should buy a albino, it's better if you take care of your own turtles or any turtle will do fine, just make sure you take good care of them. Just my opinion. |

QUOTE(uzairi @ Nov 23 2010, 06:10 PM) QUOTE(camillenoir @ Nov 23 2010, 07:07 PM) He's doing pretty good bros. Groing and really knows how to impress the ladies with his 'curious/unsure look'. All the bonitas melt over him. It kinda looks like this > He makes the perfect mascot for my unit and is an awesome conversation piece. I have to say that I've used him for 'personal gains' a lot lately. Lolloooll. |
