Just registered yamiya and realized that the shipping is via citilink and it's free. I might buy stuff there in the future because things like bags and lens cap are cheap.

QUOTE(kenji_britney @ May 14 2010, 10:00 AM) hey guys, need some advice on how to take photos of fire at night. if i use a fast shutter then the background will be really dark, if i use a slow shutter, the fire may be overexposed. should i use a fill flash? need to practice tmr. I bump to ISO 800 and use reasonable shutter speed. |

18-105mm sharpness is good, at least much much sharper than my previous 18-55mm non VR (maybe becuz of VR? but i shoot portraits at at least 1/80). My flickr has some recent portraits shot at DCIM with exif intact, IMO quite sharp wad.

QUOTE(doraemonkiller @ May 23 2010, 02:18 PM) the head of AF-S 18-105 lens (near the place to put filter) there can auto turn anot? I watch youtube some lens can. I dunno how AF-S 18-105 work. 18-105VR's front head wont turn that's why the petal shaped hood >.<The focusing is internal, not external like 18-55mm. So you can't possibly turn the front part and if you can then the lens must have some problem. Don't try to force turn it >.< |

QUOTE(doraemonkiller @ May 23 2010, 03:25 PM) ohh... >.< check the lens name, it's AF-S 18-105mm VR. AF-S means it can AUTOFOCUS on any nikon dslr like d40~d3s. If it's AF-D or AF then it can only autofocus in bodies with BUILT IN MOTOR.i checked website state that the D90 body itself have built in AF motor, so lens motor work together with D90 body af motor? Another question af-c does not work when we use monitor rite? my af-c only able to work in viewfinder. So, 18-105mm can autofocus in d90 and entry levels like d40. But if u turn off the lens af the body won't af the lens. vice versa. |

QUOTE(shadow111 @ May 23 2010, 04:07 PM) hmm.. anyone know how to test out whether each of the motor is working fine? cannot do like this. for AF-S lenses, u turn off either motor (body or lens) it wont autofocus. It's like if it's AF-S, lens will use its motorm if not AF-S, like AF-D, will use body's motor. You can try this with 50mm f1.8. 18-105mm cant.example.. turning off the motor on the lens n turn on the d90 body motor on & turning off the d90 body motor and turning on the lens motor? this way, can verify whether both motor is working fine or not.. |

di622 can be used on all nikon dslr bodies i think. Can be used on my ex-d40 and d90.
Sb600 can be used on canon 450D perfectly, i wonder why, tested myself and it's true. but di622 nikon mount can't be used on 450D =X |

QUOTE(oyama @ May 23 2010, 10:35 PM) guys..the warranty that we get..i suppose local will be the yellow one.. do we need to register it online or not? Nikon warranty doesn't need to register online. Just keep your unfilled warranty card you do. For Nikon Malaysia set, the distributor will be Nikon Malaysia. the warranty card white or yellow also can as long as the distributor is Nikon Malaysia.bcoz i couldnt find any link to register from nikon malaysia.. >_<" |
