Ok sorry, I just got home, and I got some stuff to go through, but I'll share with you what I know so far. These are all still tentative, as SD is rushing to launch the car in Jan-Feb next year, so nothing is truly finalized yet.

QUOTE(Alvin_Kuan @ Dec 6 2011, 01:35 PM)
How many color there have for elantra 1.6 and 1.8cc ? Singapore got 9 colors and selling 1.6 in H.spec -SGD99,999 and COE offset is SGD35,000. hmm.gif
*
Colour not too sure, I am very positive there'll be white and silver. Hope got hyper metallic as well.

QUOTE(lelynx @ Dec 6 2011, 02:17 PM)
any tech spec to be shared?
traction control?
6 airbag?
power-adjustable seat?
dual-clutch?
*
Traction control? Tipu punya or the real thing like F1 cars? laugh.gif

ESP got lah, and the 1.8 variant got VSM as well, improved version of ESP where it also sense your steering angle.

QUOTE(devinz @ Dec 6 2011, 02:33 PM)
CVT not necessary can only shift via gear knob...
Sonata also CVT but there is paddle shift for other market..

Only in bolehland it is drop out..

A bro, DIY the paddle shift to his sonata 2.0
*
Sonata not CVT... 6 cog gearbox. Paddle shift can be added, I know someone who does it so siapa mau, kasi saya tahu.

Back to Elantra :

Good news for clutch players is that there is a Manual Transmission for the 1.6 Standard and it is only missing 2 feature compared to the 1.6 AT Standard. 1.6 Standard extra auto light control and Smart Key.

Manual don't know is 5 or 6 speed yet. All AT are 6 speed with semi-auto functions. 1.8 Premium spec has auto cruise.

1.6 AT High Spec and 1.8 Premium spec has ESP with VSM function. Vehicle Stability Management is improved ESP where it also sense your steering angle and make proper adjustment to prevent skidding and fishtailing.

Smart key is missing on the 1.6 Manual.

Sporty aluminium foot pedal is available on the 1.6 AT High Spec and 1.8 Premium.

All specs has electrical heated outside mirrors which I assume is side mirrors and are power retractable. Escort light function(where the light stays on for 30 second after ignition is off) is standard on all spec as well.

1.8 stands out more above the others because of some very subtle changes to the interior. Sliding centerconsole, ECM mirrors(the one that dims when people highbeam you from behind). The sunroof is a more conventional single pane sunroof,so for those who's afraid of broken roof, feel safe now, for those who wants a black top, time to visit the paint shop. tongue.gif

The final big feature to be seen first time on Malaysia's Hyundai is dual zone automatic air conditioner, where you have independent control between passenger and driver side. How the automatic system works is still beyond my reach, but I think it is related to fan speed and temperature, it also has a auto defogger that sense whether your windscreen is foggy and adjust defogger vents to well, defog.

By the way, don't be confused with CVVT and CVT. CVVT is Continous Variable Valve Timing, and CVT is Continous Variable Transmission, they're both not related to each other, one is gearbox, one is engine valve.

It is not convenient for me to share the photo for few reasons :

- NDA
- It's a Korean LHD.

but the interior is said to be 90% similar to oversea cars, interior wise don't expect Sonata's class of luxury, because we're so used to calling it Mini-Sonata we'd expect the same comfort level, if you do you'll say the comfort level is off par, seating wise it's better than the Civic, and the meter clusters is as nice as the Sonata. Biggest draw is the center fascia, very futuristic looking and ergonomically well designed.

No official pricing yet, but you guys can book it first. If the pricing isn't satisfactory my company will refund your full deposit. I tried my best to squeeze the price out of the trainer but it is not his call to say anything.

QUOTE(spchew79 @ Dec 6 2011, 07:33 PM)
How about group booking? How to do that?
Another issue is how long would the waiting period be after launch date of mid Jan?
*
We can arrange group booking now, then when the pricing is finalized we produce a group benefit package to you all, anyone who wants to opt out that time can do so as well.

We'll be discussing group benefits rate at different intervals, so 10 confirmed order has different benefit over 20 confirmed orders, cause I am sure someone is bound to abuse the system. smile.gif

Waiting period is a touchy issue, to be frank, we don't know as Hyundai Motor Company currently is being outstripped by demand and there is no short term ways to increase production, the manufacturing plants are already running 3 shifts now(3x8=24 hours).

QUOTE(lelynx @ Dec 6 2011, 07:39 PM)
price, i think we will only know by 2012, right boss?  hmm.gif
btw, CBU or CKD? smile.gif
*
Pricing they usually only let loose few days before official launching.

Almost certain, I mean almost not absolute, is CKD. Whether first batch CBU or CKD still not known.

Very hard to say what is the official prices for now. They don't usually tell car price till a week or few days before launching.

AFAIK, Elantra is already a CKD, how Forte manage to under-price this much baffles even the top guys in Sime Darby, but what I think the sales department saying by 'not cheap' is that you can no longer expect Elantra HD 1.8 price with Elantra MD 1.8.

To answer some questions

@maan, Dual Zone Auto AC with auto defogger is only on the 1.8 Premium.

@CasualDrive, we're keeping in touch with SD, I'll let it out even if I know information better than 'not cheap'

@Collee, Jan/Feb launch, don't know when yet, but if January launch first batch buyer maybe can get car before CNY. smile.gif

@Sunsetwoohlala, I am sure SD is doing all their best to keep waiting period short, spike in demand for Hyundai has already put HMC's production at full capacity.

And lots of accident on PLUS highway because drivers getting distracted....laugh.gif

Anyway, my manager and I are finalizing pre-launch booking package and procedure. We're making sure the process is as clear and transparent as it get, to avoid confusion and any dispute. I would like to re-stress an assurance to those who wants to place a booking, your pre-launch booking deposit is fully refundable.

Finalizing everything by tomorrow. Stay tuned.

QUOTE(nion77 @ Dec 7 2011, 10:42 PM)
can add the paddle shift 4 md elantra? thumbup.gif
*
Not too sure yet, but if oversea market has paddle shift for the Elantra, there should be proper mounts and housing for them on Malaysia's MD as well.

QUOTE(kekura @ Dec 7 2011, 10:45 PM)
that images are really illustration, its not malaysia spec. Its LHD. interior could be different.
*
Trainer say it's not guranteed accurate, but SD did their best to make sure it's as close as it looked in illustrations.

Bro Fluid, what is the interest rate for Hyundai cars now taking 5/6/7/8/9 years loan?
*
2.5x to 2.62 smile.gif

Bank interest rate is very low now, partly because bank rushing for quota and trying to complete Jan 2012 target as well, since CNY will cut short January working duration.

I'll be at showroom this sat/sun whoever made their booking can come over submit booking fees and documents, got video that I can share as well brows.gif

I placed my booking on July'11. Banker told cannot do loan first until the price is announced unless your loan is based on old avante model.
Weird.. how you proceed?
*
That's probably what they do, they apply it once to predict if your loan can be approved or not, cancel it later, then re-apply using another sales order.

Sure annoy the hell out of the banker, they'll end up with lots of wasted LOU and agreements.
