its H logo wor.. kekkee

some nice touch that it comes with aluminium pedal as well...

That car is the same car I sat in during training, it is a Korean LHD car, 1.8 and ding! No sunroof on this 1.8 spec. That's why we are actually not allowed to share it out in public as the interior and exterior will be slightly different from the version we get.

QUOTE(WheelieWonka @ Dec 17 2011, 01:12 PM)
Tentative pricing:-
1.8 - RM110k+
1.6 high spec - RM100+ k

That's seriously suicide pricing, most ppl would get a Civic (RM115k). Really dissappointed with SD's pricing strategy.

I was really looking forward to getting this Elantra..I guess not anymore sad.gif

Say it ain't so....
*
As everyone is saying, tentative, expected, estimated pricing. It is not confirmed yet. Given that there's so much extra in the Elantra 1.8 compared to the say Civic 1.8, the price is every penny worth it. Well, you guys wanted all the extra, you just have to pay for it, you can't expect to get sunroof, auto air con and all those stuff for free.

Complaining about logo is getting a bit boring, which only show that people's mind are still brainwashed into believing CKD of other make is 100% better than Inokom's(Which is of course, not true). The route was simple, going CKD or CBU, but are you willing to pay for a 1.8 Elantra CBU for a price very close to the Sonata? I don't think so.

Which branch you asking from? Dont simply said a sentence purposely make ppl confuse.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bro Fluid, i think is impossible you still now haven't get roughly know the price yet.Maybe you think the price is over the expectation so you think better cover up 1st.
*
Truth is I don't know the official pricing yet. I see no reason to cover up the pricing especially when there's over 40+ booking in my hand and everyone's main question is price. All I can guess is it's between 85-110k, based on the marketing strategy done with the Sonata and Tucson.

If I know knows the official price, someone else will too. Why would I hold back to such a crucial advantage and let my competitor get an edge over me? I am not the only one attending these Elantra training so I am not the only person getting any confidential information without others knowing.

I am not risking my job by :
- Disclosing confidential memos just to argue on my points.
- Confirming anything beyond my knowledge.

Sorry to anyone who thought otherwise from what I've said

How accurate is this?

Are you Hyundai SA bro?

Really hope to be one of this 100 owner..

At this rate everybody will believe if I said that the Genesis Coupe is launching soon and priced at RM100k whistling.gif

Launching a '2012' model with 2011's manufacturing date? hmm.gif SD must've gotten things really wrong.

Kah Bintang is now independent dealers for Hyundai cars, in other words Sime Darby is the sole importer of Hyundai now.

Anyway, one colleague was sick, the other doesn't really understand English much, so wasn't able to get information out of yesterday's training.

Bro Fluidic, thats quite funny, if the agent himself could not understand the training all about, then how r they suppose to explain to the customers !

By the way, when is your training? all counting on you~~~for me, you r the only one i trust for now!
*
Not everybody is fluent in English, even some managers I trained with that day struggled with the level of English Nick used, partially my fault because I pressed him really hard for info tongue.gif

Kudos to him though, he's one cool and composed trainer.

English aside, you do have to understand they do not know what is 'new' or 'old' info, as they have not attended the training before, of course since I attended the training before, I'll know if there's any difference of info between the previous and this one.

One thing I learnt about the Elantra though, the NVH is very good, better than the i10, my colleague couldn't hear anything the trainer said when he was inside the car.

Good soundproofing may not mean good NVH. You can only confirm it with a test drive through various everyday conditions.

Besides, soundproofing from human voices alone cannot justify the good soundproofing tag, you need to test it at other frequencies and at higher decibels.
We have relative comparison, I am just giving one example out of many. smile.gif

QUOTE(ahsam1212 @ Dec 24 2011, 01:22 AM)
If 105k for 1.8, it might fail too.
Some so called features r not really useful. I would prefer cheaper car, n safety features intact, n remove those useless 1 like sun roof, big sport rims, GPS? haha....
What can I say, it's hard to please the whole crowd, it might be useless to some people, but some people make buying decision based on these 'useless' accessory.

'Sonata no GPS? Aiya I go see Camry instead then', happened before.

QUOTE(spchew79 @ Dec 24 2011, 02:03 AM)
105k for Elantra 1.8 sounds expensive...
*
That's what everybody said about RM143k when Sonata YF came out.

I bring some updated news. A lot of questions has been asked and I am back with answers.

Leather Seats - ALL, yes ALL range is leather seats, with 1.8 getting Nappa leather. Nappa leather may not be black colour.

Gearbox - 6 speed automatic and 6 speed manual

Wheel Size - 16 inches on the 1.6 with 205/55 rubber. 17 inches on the 1.8 with 215/45 rubber.

Rain Sensor - No Rain Sensor

Colours - Unconfirmed, but is said to be launching with 6 colours. White, Silver, Black, Red, Blue, and very possible, hyper metallic grey.

Brake System - 4 disc brakes and 4 ABS with ESP and VSM.

Technical data is said to show the fuel consumption to be 11.6cent/KM for the 1.6 Manual, 12.7cent/KM for the 1.6 Auto, and 13.5cent/KM for the 1.8 Auto.

Pricing? By the words from the head of sales Elantra is a 'c-segment car with a c-segment price'. As for waiting period, head of sales say there'll be a lot of ready stock during launching.

Here's some bonus pictures, can you recognize these cars?

Anyway, whoever knows Nick Goh, sales trainer from Hyundai Sime Darby, give him a hug laugh.gif He's one great trainer.

Since someone mentioned Veloster...

I'll let you guess how much reverse camera cost including labour and installation. In case you wondered, those GPS units doesn't come standard with the camera, they're optionals.

You can't compare navi HU with HU+Reverse Camera obviously the price is going to be different.

Bro Fluidic did I spot it correctly:

Pic #1: genesis coupe?
Pic #2: i40 tourer?
I saw a Veloster! Any updates on Veloster, bro???
*
We got a winner, Genesis Coupe and i40.

No news on the Veloster yet so far. but I heard my trainer said it runs on the Gamme 1.6 MPI found in the Elantra.

QUOTE(WheelieWonka @ Dec 27 2011, 07:48 PM)
"C segment car with C segment price" means it will be priced like Civic and Altis, but with more equipment.
With Malaysian's mentality stuck at everything with a T & H logo, this means ppl will still say "same price as Civic mah, why u buy this??"

See what I mean...? That's why SD has to undercut the Japs to steal some sales away from T & H
*
On the lighter side of things, customer who genuinely loves Koreans cars don't have to put up with a long waiting list due to customers 'who are forced to buy a Hyundai because they're cheap'. biggrin.gif

Only 1.8CC and above considered C segment? How about 1.6CC one, btw many features like smart key doesn't came in Civic and Altis. So how to justify Elantra and Civic as C segment?
*
'segment' is based on the size of the car, not just by cc or features, the 3 series is actually same 'class' as Sonata, Accord , Camry but of course it's priced much higher it seems out of class.

The other way around works too, just look at Saga, Persona.
