Bro "FluidicSculpture",

Can you provide more detail of this car?
Like spec, price....etc....
Since your are SA, and so many ppl wait for this car(90 pages yeh!!), I believe you might able to deal some business from here, just remember offer good deal to lowyat friends and state down which location you are biggrin.gif
We need more info~~~

Need to go training only then know more info smile.gif. Not going to act like other SA giving out false infos to hold on to customers.

Any business is good business, I can talk with my manager for better than walk-in deal for lowyat member, still need to see car first, but you guys can start leaving names for 'booking', the more there is the easier it is to cut a better deal for you all, so start gathering the sheep. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(flipoff @ Nov 28 2011, 03:42 AM)
what happen if we book by group? got discount?
*
Read above smile.gif We will see how by then. Add me on twitters (cktkelvin) so I can bring breaking news to you all as soon as possible.

*
No idea yet what logo will be on the Elantra biggrin.gif

QUOTE(snack @ Nov 28 2011, 12:19 PM)
Wow~ Group buy is a good idea o~~

I think u can still post your breaking news here lah~ Share to every bro mah~
Got to be fast o~I believe a lot of bro will comparing spec with FORTE~
Where to leaving names for booking?
Using twitter cause it's more discreet than surfing a full blown page while training. We'll see how by then. smile.gif

I'll start a new thread for booking once the time is right. My manager wants to see response before calling his card on group booking benefits, so the more people the better. smile.gif

This is logic to wait until Feb/Mar 2012 as the model is came with 2012. But what is the difference between model 2011 and 2012? can compare? I thought it's exactly the same.

*cough* Resales value *cough*

the resale value for hyundai cars is still bad rite?
*
New Sonata 2.0 High Spec = RM143,888.00 OTR with insurance
Pre-owned Sonata 2.0 High Spec, 1 year old car = RM124,000. Sold out.

I'll let public draw the conclusions smile.gif

QUOTE(kekura @ Dec 2 2011, 10:15 AM)
3. less maintenance (6-speed gearbox is maintenance free, no need to change oil & filter)
7. reliability assured (5years warranty+10years gearbox warranty)

i have also been in my friends current gen Honda Civic just want to have the feel, and i was so depressed its so dry.

These are the reasons why people go for other brands like Peugeot, Volkswagen, Mazda, Ford despite knowing the resale value will be bad. Besides, after 7 years resale value wont bother anymore because market price will stabilize and you have already breakeven.
*
For point 3, the gearbox oil change is 100,000km, due to the different climate here.

For point 5, it's 5 years warranty, not 10.

QUOTE(hazremi @ Dec 2 2011, 10:20 AM)
thx for a constructive reply.

may i know elantra service interval is between 5000k or 10000k?

its pretty suck to visit service center for every 5k ,like honda
*
QUOTE(kekura @ Dec 2 2011, 10:23 AM)
haha.. of course not. where got test car here in Malaysia yet. I just went through hundred of review websites and youtube. so roughly i got the feel how its going to be like.

Added on December 2, 2011, 10:29 am

FluidicSculpture may be able to answer. But for Sonata, it is still 5k interval using Semi-Syn. I heard some Honda owner use full synt (supposed 10k interval) but SC insists 5k interval to maintain warranty eligibility.

btw, korean version is the best because got projector light and auto parking assistant (the car parks itself for you like Knight Rider).
*
Fully synthetic oil change is 10,000km, but service is still 5,000km where they change your oil filter and inspect your car.

We can put in all the geeky stuff like the parking assistant, but will you buy an Elantra that's overly priced?

Ok, so you guys need to hold your breath a little longer for pricing. As we don't expect SD to give the pricing until few days before launching. As for technical specs, hopefully you guys won't need to wait for very long now. smile.gif

Really? smile.gif

Here's a dare, I'll eat my shoe if I owns a Civic before an Elantra. I'll match the Civic price by flooding my Elantra full of accessories. smile.gif

blink.gif Don't really get you, if you mean you want to get a Elantra directly from Korea you need AP to do so.

If your car is fully imported it'll be written as that in your pinkslip.

QUOTE(turbocharged @ Dec 3 2011, 10:19 AM)
so you wanna buy an elantra at RM120,000?

you sure is smarter than you look. lol.

ok, jokes aside, by no means i'm here to belittle any one. but i'm just saying, the main USP of this car starts with price, then design. By no means its here to challenge T/H.
*
Sorry, but since when Elantra pricing has been confirmed to be RM120,000?

I think when you mention car price, you actually means resales value, because I have 99.99% doubt that Sime Darby will commit suicide by pricing the Elantra above the Civic, but even when I said that the pre-owned sales in SD for 2010 Sonata YF 2.0 High Spec fetched RM124k as a fact people still remains in denial.

Instead of having us convince your impenetrable doubt in futility, why not call up Sime Darby and verify that yourself?

Used car price is driven by demands, not brand. When the used car market is spoiled with choices, do you think your Honda and Toyota will retain in value? And finally, 2011's Hyundai is not 2006's Hyundai, how much Hyundai changed globally since 2006? Seems like only in Malaysia the mentality is still stuck at 2006 mindset. In Malaysia alone Hyundai has took great leaps in improving themselves ever since Sime Darby took over, improvement at things many are already so used to if they're driving a T&H they hardly notice it.

Not everyone make their decision based on price. If you worry so much about car prices/resales value, I will repeat another forumer's word, you're not ready to afford cars in that budget range.

I'll still eat my shoe if I ever own a Civic before an Elantra, regardless of price. wink.gif

i dont care about what car you drive whatever, mostly car salesman driving wira only ( because they have nothing to show off, unlike young fresh graduates. )
Belittle me as much as you like, I drive a Kancil, but it'll be one day where you meet a 'salesman' that drives a BMW, that will be the day you regret treating the sales industry with no respect because they have a choice not to sell you, and neither am I obliged to do so too.

By the way, I am not a 'roadside salesman' as you thinking I am, and I don't see a need to boast about my standing in the company here.
QUOTE(turbocharged @ Dec 3 2011, 04:22 PM)
if you think ppl dont care about resale value, let me tell you one thing, hyundai is not the brand (yet) for ppl to sacrifice  resale value. Peugeot, yes, bmw, yes, MB, yes, alfa romeo, yes.
Didn't I already said, pre-owned Sonata 2.0 High Spec all sold out at SD headquarter just recently for 124k? smile.gif
QUOTE(turbocharged @ Dec 3 2011, 04:22 PM)
you're a car salesman that is more active in forum, i guess there's no honda/toyota salesman here, i wonder why.
In the year 2011, there is something called mobile computing and wireless internet access. I enjoy keeping my prospect in touch digitally through my iPad during my showroom duties, not to mention all the great games on the iOS.

QUOTE(turbocharged @ Dec 3 2011, 04:22 PM)
lol. you buy car without looking at the price? you sick? or are you the kind of guy saying " my imaginary girlfren is hotter than megan fox?" you buy a car without looking at price? so you choose a hyundai ( in this case, elantra?) lol. not a better car? hey, i'm rich, i dont care about price/resale value, yea, so i got myself a hyundai elantra. huh?
I wouldn't insult my girlfriend that way, however incomparable she is to Megan Fox, she's still the prettiest girl to me.

If I really want to buy a car that's worth my money, I wouldn't even get an Elantra. My dealer is just 15 minutes drive away from my house, and my largest hobby(computer gaming) do not require me to travel around, i10 would serves me perfectly, especially at a place where parking is so hard to come by. Also, unlike you, the last thing I care about a car is resales value, my money's worth enjoying in a car that I like to drive, rather than forcing myself to drive a Vios just because it has a mythical attribute called 'resale value'.

On the contrary, price concious people should realize by now that many cars out there are overpriced and underspeced. I won't mention what car as brand crusader will appear and derail this topic all over again.

QUOTE(turbocharged @ Dec 3 2011, 04:22 PM)
again, if your elantra is selling at rm120,000(which is same price as 1.8civic) . good luck to your sales.

if your elantra is selling at <rm 100,000, its shows your higher management is smarter than you, thus they are higher management, so, worry not, the car can sell.
I think in the process of recuperating a snapped nerve, you got my point mixed up. We all know better Elantra must be priced below stronger brand to sell well. We all learnt the hard way with the i30 last time.

What my dare mean is if I ever own a new C-segment sedan, it would be an Elantra before a Civic or any other car. To shut the price critics up, I'll match the cost of ownership by adding third party accessories into my Elantra.

QUOTE
1. elantra in malaysia will always price lower than any japan competitor such as civic/altis, just like kia forte.

2. elantra is not even launched, and its already better than civic? (fanboism?)

3. Price is always number one in car buying. if you dont think so, you should get a bmw, thats a car. blow water is always easier, my dddd is longer than your dddd kind of talk is childish.

no hard feelings, enjoy your weekend.
1. This is something we can finally agree on.

2. In what aspect and is very subjective. People who doesn't like the Civic doesn't automatically means the Civic sucks and vice versa. For many of us here, we love the Elantra.

3. If price is number one, why are people still paying so much for so much lesser? Paying more for so less does not equate to being price concious.

I should be the one saying no hard feelings to you, as I got onto your nerve didn't I? smile.gif

Sorry to hear that >.<

QUOTE(jeffphp @ Dec 3 2011, 05:51 PM)
Agree that Elantra is a great car, no doubt, with good feedback and review from overseas but as far as we Malaysian concern, it is only a great car overseas and remain as it is, the car has not launch in Malaysia yet!

Hyundai SD announced the VELOSTER will be launched in Q1 next year but what about Elantra? On the FB it only says announcement will be made "this month", Dec 31st perhaps? and what if the announcement is the launch in Q1 and delivery in Q2, thats freaking 6 months from now!

Hyundai SD and you SA, do something right please, dont just keep us waiting!
*
Speculation now is it'll be a double launch(Veloster+Elantra) in 2012, most of the reason we heard regarding the delay are also speculation and I am very sure Sime Darby wouldn't want such delay it they weren't necessary. As for the lengthy delivery period for Hyundai cars, please understand that demand is outstripping supply globally. HMC just couldn't keep up the demand growth despite many production increase.

CKD or CBU, parts still have to come from somewhere.

By the way, CKD Elantra MD is already in Malaysia, waiting to be assembled together.

That pre-owned Sonata 2.0 is YF or old generation?

YF, if old generation Sonata 1 year old can still fetch 124k, it's resale paradise since the original car price is RM128,888

How much will be the booking fees? If the car didn't deliver on promised date can cancel booking and get refund?
*
For my dealer, we have always honoured our promise that if we ever break any promises and customer decides to cancel, we'll refund booking fees and deposit made.

For the Elantra, we're also refunding if the customer decides to cancel their pre-launch booking:)

Need to pay booking fees for elantra? how much is the booking fees?
*
We chose to take booking deposit(refundable of course) that to prevent people 'suka suka' put their name and then pass it off as if nothing happened.

Amount? Depends how much you're willing to put in loh biggrin.gif. After all when you order the car the booking deposit will go into your car price anyway. You lose nothing smile.gif

I think placing a fully refundable deposit is just as good as placing a suka-suka order without commitment. It would be better and fairer to those who are really keen on buying, to request for a partially refundable deposit, say, 80% refund.
*
Nah, tried before, customer will want back the 20% no matter how small the amount is.

Anyway, training is today, so hopefully I'll get to report in few hours times. smile.gif

4 spec : 1.6 Manual/Auto standard, 1.6 high spec, 1.8 premium spec. 1.6 is MPI engine, not GDI. FC is as good if not better than Japanese counterpart of same cc.

AT is 6 speed. Need to ask if MT is 6 speed as well.

A lot of accessories seen on sonata and tucson has been transferred over to the Elantra.

Sunroof is single pane motor driven conventional sunroof, less worry about full broken roof. Only on the 1.8 variant.

1.8 has integrated gps and reverse camera system and auto cruise, dual zone auto air conditioners with auto defog.

Launching is expected to be January/Febuary 2012. Pricing? Head of sales say 'not cheap' so cannot really expect it to be priced near previous Elantra anymore.
