After viewing the car 1st hand at KLIMS today i must say that i am really impressed. The interior and exterior is really cool and futuristic plus ample boot space. Really impressive. The rear legroom is comparable to the Hyundai Sonata and Nissan Teana despite both those cars being in a different category. If Hyundai can maintain the specs and keep the pricing competitive then this car will surely do well like the Forte or maybe even better.

Was at KLIMS too but the area where da car was parked was off limit to vistors unless u r one of the exhibitors there whom were able to get in there to feel the car? Perhaps some photo of the sample unit would be suffice?
*
Well it was open to visitors yesterday. Maybe they closed it off today cuz of the huge interest in the car. Yesterday we could touch and inspect every component of the car.

Do they release the pricing for avante?
*
No. But their estimated pricing is about RM95K for the 1.8L. The car on display at KLIMS was a 1.6L imported model.

I was there just now. Initially , no one dare to enter the area coz the model was standing there and everyone busy looking at her and taking photograph. Suddenly one kuai lo go  enter the car. After that everyone also follow him and open the door and look at the interior. The driver seat adjuster is using the push button type which looks very high class. The other car i saw with this feature there was the Lexus IS250. Don't know if other same class car has the same.
Agree that the rear passenger leg room is quite spacious.
*
The models there are nothing to shout about. Pretty average girls. Yes the features are quite impressive for just a 1.6L car. Not sure which specs will actually reach Malaysian shores. but yes the rear legroom and boot was the talking point of many ppl.

Third quarter 2011?
Sound a bit late there..
If this avante price at 94k,
I rather opt insight at98k including insurans..

If first quarter 2011, with 90k or lesser.. It would be a good buy..
*
Insight??? Common la. These 2 cars are in different segments and targets a totally different group of buyers la. How can u compare a 1.3L with a 1.8L? At least compare 1.5L to 1.8L also not too bad. Ure expecting 90K or lesser for a 1.8L with 6 speed gearbox, interior space as much as the new Sonata plus all those specs? Dream la.

Besides, i checked out the Insight at KLIMS, and was really disappointed with the cheap plastics all around. Paying RM98K for a 1.3L Hybrid of that size is crazy. I would rather pay that much for a 1.3L Civic Hybrid.

Anyway, i think 2011 is not the year for us to venture into hybrids yet. Hybrids did well overseas and in cooler climates. But in Malaysia, it is still very new. With Proton due to launch its Hybrids in 2012, i wouldnt dare buy any of the current Hybrids at the current pricing.

The Avante is surely a class above most of the current cars in that segment namely the Forte, Altis and Civic.

You sound like you gonna get the Avante soon. 1st time see you so semangat talking bout other cars. XD (* This is a compliment.)

Hope financially I'm good for Avante next year.
*
I dont think ill get it. Maybe my wife. And yes i was really blown away by the Avante when i saw it at KLIMS. Ive seen countless photos but i was really surprised by the interior space and design. Everything really fell into place perfectly.

Seriously if Mr. cybermaster98 has good things to say of this car (looks/specs wise since we have not tested it yet on our shores) it must be worthy of a visit. Actually the only reason I want to go to KLIMS is to see that car in metal. Screw the models and other cars. Hehe. Maybe take a peek at the Sante Fe and Honda Insight too.
*
Yes the same reason why i went to KLIMS too. Look at the Kia Optima too. Very nice too. Santa Fe and Insight not impressive in my opinion.

I saw the car on Monday at KLIMS. Manage to sit inside the car, front and back. REALLY IMPRESSIVE!!! hahaha... After looking first round, went back second round after rounding the floor. 3rd quarter 2011 is good also, at least I can accumulate more money... Hehehe... But I hope all the features are available at RM9xk lor... Sunroof, park assist and etc. Love the seat cover and the sporty leather steering wheel.

Insight was way too small man... Leg space very small.

Oh ya, I went to KLIMS with objective of peeking at this Avante... And now, I can just dream of owning it unless I am the lucky winner for the TOYOTA PRIUS! Hahaha...

@cybermaster98 Please let me know when we can do booking eh...
*
Exactly my feel as well. I too went back 2 times after rounding the other cars. I keep going into the Sonata and the Avante to get a better comparison. I would say that the interior of the Avante is actually better than the Sonata. The dashboard is more fluid and blends in very well with the general interior. I feel the Sonata dashboard doesnt fit in somehow.

Yes ive already got 2 other friends who are very interested. If the 4 of us (my wife i mean not me), go in together im sure we can nego a good price. rclxms.gif

At the mean time we have lots of time to hear about the performances in the US and decide. I would want the colour on display one at 1.8 variant. smile.gif
*
I think that a bright silver will suit the car better. The silver will bring out the exterior of the car well while making it look bigger. The display color wont really look nice on a grey road surface. In my opinion.

I analyse everything before investing time and money. For your info, i test drove my Vios 7 times in 4 states before i bought it in 2003. icon_rolleyes.gif

wah so kiasu... haha... Do you need to test drive this car before booking ah? I am planning to find review by other ppl outside malaysia and will book upon satisfactory review. smile.gif

@kiwi_cream
Not that I know off yet. Interior will not change much except for the seat material and maybe the players. smile.gif
*
Test drives are important also. To make the right decision u need to combine your needs, good reviews and the test drive. Then make a decision.

Dear all, I have called 2 SA from 2 different dealer and confirmed that booking can be done now. Booking fee is RM1k and is fully refundable in the event if you are not happy with the car after the launch. The benefit of booking now is that those who book before the launch will be invited to the soft launch (few months before the actual launching) and will get their car during the launch. smile.gif

The package offered for group booking for 1 SA around my area is free 2 years labour during service but only at Puchong authorised service centre.

The other SA is offering full tank of petrol when receive the car + GPS (either papago or garmin) + some discount (which can only be quantified when more details are available) + whatever offer from Sime Darby.

I still felt the latter is more attractive.

Both SA estimated the price could be over RM100k for the 1.8 or 2.0 variant. My friend say if there is 1.6 variant, it will definitely below RM100k. According to them, 1,6 variant is powerful enough to support the car. All these indication are still at early stage.

These 2 SA say the expected launch will be on September and car will be available on November. A year to go...

If anyone of you are interested, maybe we can build a list so we have higher bargaining power. smile.gif
*
I think it has already been confirmed that there wont be a 2.0L unit in Malaysia. They are only bringing in the 1.6L and 1.8L if im not mistaken. So the above RM100K price tag could be for the 2.0L (which isnt coming). Meaning RM 90-95K is very possible for the 1.8L model. Anything more than this will kill the price.

I think we should NOT make advance booking. The advance booking serves to provide Sime Darby with an evaluation on the public perception about the car. If many ppl start booking now, it will tell SD that we love the car and are prepared to pay for it. This might send the price up. There fore we should not show much interest in the hope that Sime keeps the price low.

See how similar they are? Thats why i was really impressed with the Avante. Can someone try and post these pics here for all to see rather than leaving it on picpaste?

Nt gng to bash, just my honest opinion. Dont you think the rear legroom look very tight?
*
Well take it from a guy who spent alot of time in the rear seat of the Avante during KLIMS. I sat in front and adjusted the front seat to suit me best (mind you im almost a 6 footer). Then i sat right behind that to see the legroom. And it was really GENEROUS. Then i walked over to the Sonata just a few metres away, did the same thing and walked back to the Avante. Repeated that about 3 times before leaving KLIMS, logging on lowyat and posting my comments.

By the way, the pic i posted was from a website. I didnt have a pic of the rear seat of my own.

Its definitely coming. How can Hyundai not bring in a car which for the 1st time is capable of competing with the Altis and Civic and also challenge the Forte? rclxms.gif
