I have subscribed to VIP5, but yet to install. Also planning to get a desktop system. Can the sifus advise me on what specification I MUST have in the system for optimum & trouble free usage with unifi? Also, the necessary add-ons (eg ?usb wifi adaptor - model)? Tks.

Haha basically any computer of any specs with a network card would do the job properly. A cheap core2duo can do lots of stuff already smile.gif

the internet in malaysia is so dated that even with 20mbps, believe it or not in most places it's not a big deal. On the plus side, you'll never have to worry about hardware capability...all you need is a wifi receiver (USB/PCI your choice)..that's all

is it me, or the router that unifi provides sucky as hell, its my 4th day using unifi, the 1st 2 days were great, I was getting speed as good as 19mbps on average.

yesterday nite, the router decided to stop working, it stops transmitting wireless signal, and I am not able to access to the router even via the network cable.

called tech support, took them 2 hrs to solve the prob, solution was to do a hard reset on the router, but they were reluctant to give me my password, keep asking me to troubleshoot.

now that its fixed, the problem still persist, I still get frequent disconnections (wireless signal). Can I ask for a router change? whats the point of having 20mbps speed that cant be used man.

Yes the router DLink DIR-615 they provide is crap. It's been mentioned a lot in this thread :/

Your should invest in a better router such as ESR-9850 which is good and cheap, or get one that supports DD-wrt or Tomato such as Asus RT-N16.

Follow Rivzan's guide how to setup using your own router.

Anyone get this error with IPTV?
I am facing this problem from last week already.
Already checked the cabling, all is plugged in good. Even tried changing new cable.
Reset the router didn't help though.

Have made a report to CS last week, but still didn't sorted.
Called them again just now, he said problem from their side and ask me to wait more.
I already waited for 1 week. GrrrRR!

Is this happen to u guys too or is it just me?

Update: OK now baru settle. huhu.
This is epic fail. X sampai 30min after I close the report, problem comeout again.
Kena buat new report lak tu..xleh reopen previous report.. Demm.

K, now really settle I think.
