I'll stick to reconverting everything to MP4 as per my old 5800 files. Videos look great, are sharp enough and aren't that huge.

Now to find an app that does video playlisting. Off to Maemo for an app request.

hi. can anyone help me. suddenly today evening i experienced a strange problem. my n900 screen stop responding. it wont detect anything and nothing come out from the screen. the keypad is working because there's light on keypad. and the screen is blank. nothing. wtf is wrong with my n900 ? -.- help pls.

first of all, i thought it was run out of battery. i still can see the backlight. the green light when i fully charged. still the screen won come out. really f***. i haven't install any new program recently. lately, i'm using my n900 for call, internet and texting. no games, no video, no any program. today evening. suddenly, it won't come out. haihhhh. f***.

sorry. for the harsh words, i'm so stressed out.

try take out the battery for few minutes....then put back the batt and on the phone...hope this can help...

Hey guys,have been thinking bout getting this device.But I was just wondering- how does the touchscreen on n900 stack up to the 5800?I understand both are resistive,but is there a huge diff in terms of touch responsiveness between the two?Also the 5800 tends to heat up pretty bad when web browsing is used for long hours.Does the same applies for n900?

web browsing if your use 3G it will heat up real fast.. for wifi or edge.. i think the heat is manageable...

Probably some process hogging your N900, running at 100% all the time, or some process is on the Virtual/Swap Memory (which is super slow). If an app is loaded into swap/virtual memory, you'll notice great performance issue and possibly the screen will stop responding and you'll need to wait very long for something to happen. If your hildon-desktop has stop responding, you'll also face this issue or the desktop may have no respond. The leaked PR1.2 seems have better management on the hildon-desktop hang issue.

Tips:
1. Try open your camera latch, and give it some time, the camera app will launch.
2. If you're stuck in an app, use CTRL + BACKSPACE to switch to multi-tasking screen, it may take a long time if the virtual/swap memory is used up and is trying to load from there.
3. Press the power button once and wait for some time might have some respond.

If you just cannot wait, the last resort would be to take out the battery, but becareful as there is risk of data damage in case it's writing data.

guys, anyone know if possible for us to permanently use the phone call function in portrait mode?

what did you last do to your n900? what was the last app you installed into your n900? did you play around with XTerm?

if it's application/software related then maybe a reflash would solve the issue?

oh god my n900 suddenly cant open the symbol box(nothng respond) ,and cant use the virtual keyboard ,but i already tick on use virtual keyboard at setting thr....help

to remove station, just press and hold, an option will appear...either to delete or edit....chinese station, 988...address is http://75.125.106.155:8000

Sank Q! gonna delete all those DEN, USA, FR stations

anymore radio station ill add to frontpage. Sad part all those local station quality is crap.

i'm learning how to hack wifi with n900. anyone has experience?
