Just wanna share my thought after listening PX100 with cheapo Fiio E3.
Background, my source is foobar and asus U1. I would never think that E3 could improve SQ as the asus U1 had enough power to pump my PX100.
However I still prefer with the E3 attached.

IMHO, the E3 push lot of main voice far behind the soundstage and only leaving instrument sound at front (when listening to most pop song). Bass definitely coming in faster and stronger. The bass and mid section is now really well controlled.

Ok, have to admit that some high freq is gone, but the clarity is preserved with a comfortable level. So I would not upgrade untill this px100 gave up.

I have tried the E3 with koss porta pro as well, it perform even better.
Finally, I think I know what is real clarity and soundstage means coz my reference is NAD amp -diamond 10.1

congrats.. u now know what is the benefit of amping.. most people wont notice.. as the difference is very minor, but improve listening pleasure a lot.. good amps will do better though.

haha for some low impedance headphones ( to my experience, philips shp 8900 ) benefit alot from amping even with just fiio e3, soundstage improved n more refined sounding

It's huge difference for me this because I am wearing headphone most of the time during work (software guy here). Without amp is like pouring music into my brain and fatigue come in very soon.

Actually similar effect from headphone amp could be simulated by dolby headphone technology. But it is not really musical. Ok , headphone amp will be another poison for me now.

Yes, I like to compare audiophile as drug addicts and I always remind myself to wakeup and back to real life .

I also tried the E3 as well.
Don't really know how to describe but really better IMO.
But got little problem like interference.

Yeah, my dream headphone. But initial listening, i find that the new driver HD650 is abit brighter and less bassy compared to the older driver. I would prefered it to be slightly less bright and more bassy.

and they already placed order from jaben grab the HD650 with bundle price with symphonica cable.

chingwooi's HD650 is already sold long time ago to ComradeZ.
that specific hd650 is from singapore, then grab by my friend theng.
after that. when theng upgrade his setup to sonus faber speaker. he sell off that HD650 through me to chingwooi.
and chingwooi sell to ComradeZ..
and now ComradeZ sells to dunno who.
