i wanna ask if i over spray the Clear Flat to my gundam and it appear to be whitish color. how can i remove it?
*
that whitish is because of frosting.. try put spray can in warm water before spraying
you can remove it by using lacquer thinner

guys, if i spray flat top coat on clear parts, wat kinda effects will it take?  smile.gif
i can't find any picture reference sad.gif

also btw, which one is in correct order?  icon_question.gif
panel lining > decal >topcoat?
decal > topcoat > panel lining?
*
Attached Image
frosty effect bro.. already try it myself on clear part before...
want less frosty and more transparency surface can use semigloss/gloss top coat

usually i use smile.gif
panel lining > decals > top coat

panel lining after top coat would be a bad idea
same goes to putting decal sweat.gif

I want to restart my MG Unicorn since I messed up the top coating on it.
Going to re-decal it with waterslide decals too.

Now, the big question is:
What should i submerge it in to properly get rid of the top coating?
*
lacquer thinner
and avoid use industrial thinner.. it can damage plastic kit

guys, need help. just tried to flat coat for the first time and i think i got the frosting effect. sad.gif its one of my fav kits

how to save this now? and why ah? i tried to spray too close? too much? or the spray expired?
*
use cotton bud soaked in hobby thinner(lacquer type) and slowly apply on surface..
the reason of frosting because the top coat can in low temperature or you spray on rainy day..

solution : put it in warm water about 2-3 min before you spray the kit

hope this help.. im also experienced this problem when i first time do top coat the gunpla

I was thinking on making a smooth paint on my gundam but since industrial spray paint is not smooth enough for my liking is there any steps to make it happen other than dip in warm water ?
*
what do you mean by not smooth enough?

QUOTE(daydreaming @ Apr 13 2012, 08:28 PM)
not bad wor the paint.

question again.....how far do u normally spray the top coat? the distance btw the spray and the gundam.

and how do u hold it :T i used hand. lol and just realized its poisonous =_=
*
30cm should be fine..
by the way, use "sweep" method when spraying to make sure good surface and not too thick

Since we're in the topic of topcoating..... I was wandering does topcoat (any brand) will damage decals? Doesn't matter whether is dry or water slide. Is there any effect on topcoating if apply wrong on decals?
*
top coat doesnt damage the decal... however i advise to use Mr Mark Setter for decal to stick better on kit

i'm a sandpaper supplier. just wondering anyone would go n buy sandpaper at this price.
cant simply buy as there are two types, one will scratch the surface, another one wont
*
i believe you mean grid type? the higher grid one less scratch and low one more rough surface? hmm.gif
mind you, i using 1000 grid wet sandpaper and so far the quality quite good.. the price i bought only RM0.90 per piece

maybe Tamiya one is long lasting?
but i sure not many people will buy it because of the price
