seniors.. usually after painting, we apply top coat for each pieces separately or assemble the kit first n then top coat the whole figure?
separately because some parts may not cover with coatModel Kits/Toys Painting, Building, Modding Thread, v3

QUOTE(shauno @ Oct 7 2011, 08:55 AM) there are a few types of putty, but basic putty is essentially used for filling holes, and also used to add texture to parts.. woah, usually how much for that sculpt putty cost?other types like poly putty and epoxy putty are more suitable for scratch building and sculpting i can try build something with it |

QUOTE(shauno @ Oct 7 2011, 04:47 PM) you can try look at mgs2u for either epoxy putty, or poly putty. don't remember the pricing already... not cheap tho if i remember correctly.. oh yeah, forgot mgs2u.com p/s. epoxy putty is a very hard putty.. will require you to sand alot to get to desired shape. if you are the type who hates sanding their kit, then i'd say you'll hate sanding epoxy.. i will look there btw how to get rid the bubble while painting? i have this problem while using lacquer base paint This post has been edited by nazrul90: Oct 7 2011, 07:08 PM |

QUOTE(Zephro @ Oct 12 2011, 01:57 PM) Asked in gunpla thread but no answer, so I'll ask here. how long you dip in water? usually only 05-10 sec How do you get water decals to bend around sharp corners? They pop back up every time. Or maybe I'm leaving them in the water too long, and the glue is already dissolved? Also, where around KL can you get a can of spray on Flat top coat? Asked the other day at Gamers Arena in BTS, they're sold out. use cotton bud maybe will help it bend in good position. http://kusakusa.wordpress.com/2008/08/13/h...o-apply-decals/ ^refer tutorial This post has been edited by nazrul90: Oct 12 2011, 04:54 PM |

I got a really big question, hopefully all you sifus here can guide me. no need to sprayDo you guys spray or paint your diecasts and what type of spray or paint do you use? QUOTE(Ayam-man @ Oct 20 2011, 07:55 PM) guys i want to ask....whats the different between model kit cement and normal elephant glue that we used? Tamiya or Gunze brand better? cement have strong glue and less white stainWe use cement to cover seam lines and sand? it melt the both side of plastic to make it stick better.. but take long time to harden so leave it around 10 hour to dry.. any hobby cement would be fine(im use Mr.Hobby-Mr Cement Deluxe, quite nice) yes, the use is for cover seam line and stick broken part but i don think its use for sanding. The plastic will be melt if you do that This post has been edited by nazrul90: Oct 20 2011, 08:02 PM |

QUOTE(Noysan @ Oct 22 2011, 12:05 AM) At the end of the day, you need to consider which one more economical. nah, i rarely use for painting/custom paintingHow much would be the cost of compressed gas?Is it readily available? How long my hobbies gonna last? These are the things you need to consider. If were talking term, i don't think these is a good idea. Better invest on a good AB/compressor imho. better spend on cheap one |
