Agger cant be our solution to LB. he is a CB and it will only be a matter of time before he starts beh-song. get a good LB and solve our problem once and for all. after all, Agger is supposed to be our future CB alonside skrtel. the greek aint gonna be there long and have suspect games for us.

Waste of money? Dude, don't you know he was an integral part of the Barcelona team that won the historic treble? Like most attacking fullbacks, Alves' defending can be a little suspect at times but 90% of the time you're not playing an Inter or a strong side. To be fair to him, Barca was poor all over the pitch in that night.

Don't judge a player based on performance of one match.

We all know Johnson is about as good in defense as say... Torres, but to say that players of his and Alves' nature are a waste of money shows that you my good sir are an idiot.

My opinon,
The way Liv managing players contract need to be reviewed. It is not the first time, Liv cannot generate good transfer fee due to contract near expire issue, previously Owen also similar case.

If the player don't want to renew the contract when contract approaching near like 2 years or less, then some key decision need to be done.

Keep on spending money to buy player, but always lose player with cheap and free transfer will affect the club financially, especially Liv doesn't have big budget nor financially very strong to compete with others.

so u wanna throw another 20m LB then? then go on.. carra is slow.. other CB is inconsistent..our defend will turn from shit to bulshit... most of scored concede is created from left and scored from right... thre's no nid having 2 two attakin SB in a team cz all attkin SB is sux in covering their zone..agger can do really well as a SB till aurelio is fit...

and yes spendin 20m for position tat can only support 30% of atakin and reducing 30% defence is pretty much waste rather than 20m for wide player/scorer who can be the match winner

Okay, now that i have 'lepas stim' a bit, I apologize for my earlier outburst.

Not to sound elitist or anything, but the quality of this thread been steadily going down the drain. Very few of the old regulars bother to post at all nowadays. Why?

Because of the amount of nonsense that gets posted in here. You newer guys can definitely contribute if you self censor your spam. Is there a need to post knee jerk reactions? Is there a need to insult the players? Is there a need to recycle the views and opinions of the general press? NO.

When you want to say something, think about it objectively, and present a solid argument to support your views. I'm ok with the one liners during matches (would be better if we had online beer as well ) but during the lull between matches I miss the times when we would 'argue' amongst ourselves about all things Liverpool.

Having gotten that off my chest, I would like to sadly announce to you guys that Stockport County has unfortunately been relegated once again which is the expected outcome when you've only won 5 matches all season. Damn.

On the other hand, I do not really understand why Johnson is such a wimp at what he is nominally supposed to do, being a defender and all. He seems to be relatively speedy and with good stamina. He has no problems bombing up and down the flanks (unlike Insua, who unfortunately moves about as fast as an underpowered SUV), is a strong looking muscular and aggresive lad (again, unlike Insua who looks like a slightly pudgy, whiny teenager a.k.a. Ron in HP, which i am sure he is not) YET Insua is about as capable a defender as he is!!! At least Insua has an excuse to be caught out of position!!! I would have expected that Rafa to have drilled some discipline into Johnson by now

It was joked that in the past if you were a brute with no skills you were made to play centerback. If you were Gary Neville a short brute with no skills you were told to be the left/right backs

Back to the bolded part though, I cannot agree more. Attacking fullbacks might well be flat track bullies, but a team of Liverpool's stature and quality (on paper at least) is expected to face inferior opposition more often than not! And we were all asking for a quality attacking right back to complement Kuyt - who, let's be honest here, you do not want to be playing up top as the goal's here are much smalletr than they are in Holland and will also never be dropped on account of him being Rafa's fav plaything.

If anyone is to be at fault, Rafa should be blamed for not being able to tailor his tactics to bring out the best from his squad, much like him trying to play last season's formation sans Alonso. Marks of a tactical genius? I think not.

i dun like hangin in football sec cz it's sometime boring.. mostly hang on kopitiam & real world sec cz it purely joke in there..

the purely boring part here is mostly same player like lucas / ngok / insua will always get flamed here (includin me) no matter wat dey do

tat's really norm for norm young player.. if wan train a young player to become top we must faced this kind of challenge.. dey onli nid a constant performance to forged up their weak point.. 2-3 season constant play dey'll either turn good or world class..
torres played since he was 17/18 aged in athelico and only score a few goal for his 1st few season in athelico before he turn good

so wan a forged player better support chelsea cz dey'll directly go for ribery instead of trainin their youngster

I think we do not need to add defender..The only thing is how to get the right combination on two center-back. I love watching agger with skrtel/krygkos combined which will push carragher on right back.

you can put this formation while we are attacking with the ball in our possesion

we've got 2 good centrebacks .. carragher and agger.. not to mention mascherano too while playing defensively..
aurelio imo is a tad better than insua while defending..

i wanna see nemeth play first before adding that we need a striker

To add on, an attacking fullback will make the opposition winger think twice whether to move forward or track back. You're right, Rafa seems to get the right kind of players but seem to fail in getting the best out of them.

I know this has been mentioned before, but the fake Lucas twitter is class!
