this shot was taken during last year/this years fireworks..my question is..how do you take multiple fireworks at the same time but not overexposing the shot...

this shot was taken at Clarke Quay, Singapore using a PnS Kodak...

Use the black card technique/trick. Before it explode, do a quick cover to your lens (either a black cap or a black card) to avoid your sensor picking up the huge burst of light, then quickly remove the card again after that burst of light for further exposure (continuously use the card to cover and uncover). That's the only way to capture multiple fireworks typically within about 10 seconds or so. It sounds easy, but it's not... it takes a lot of practice and guessing.

what meaning is this?..

• RAW: Up to 14 frames
• RAW+JPEG: Up to 7 frames
• JPEG (Fine): 32 frames
• JPEG (Standard): 116 frames

i saw this in alpha 550 spec..

it is mean that its buffer can store up to 32 fine jpeg before transferring into SD card?...so i use class 2 SD card also no effect on camera performance?

It normally means that if you shoot at RAW only in continuous , you can achieve in 2 seconds and after that 2 seconds u may experience lower fps.. I think the speed of the memory card plays quite a role in influencing the final result.

While shooting in RAW+JPEG is only constant for the 1st second.. but results may vary , depends on the situation.

Using a faster memory card might make a diff compared to class 2 which is very low. I myself using the extreme IV found out that the results wasn't really according to the spec sheet.

Before fireworks goes into the sky, you hit the shutter first right? e.g. you set a target of 10 second exposure, in between the start and end, keep on holding that black card. When it gonna explodes (the big burst), quickly cover. After that, uncover. Also, I guess you know about using low ISO and high f number like f11~f16. No worries about the plenty of bad shots, because no one can predict fireworks unless you are really pro. Most people shot hundreds and probably only one or two gives the results they want.

Edit: Summary... When it explode, your black card should be covering it. Not the opposite.

Those small fireworks, unless you buy a lot and do a proper planning on how to light them up. Wait for National Day...

Yeah, during CNY times in Kepong, you can even find them selling in front of Pondok Polis!

Can try and mail them.34 USD equals 100bucks++ here eh. That still doesn't cover the shipping costs.
