Since the new line of MBPs have the same size and shape with the old one, I guess it could still fit in the old adapter just watch out for the voltage I guess.. If no difference then shouldnt be a problem switching..

Yep the one with the magnet.
There are only 2 power range I think. One is 60W and 85W I think. Wonder if the size still the same and can interchangeable between the old and new one
*
60W is for the 13" macs, 85W is for the 15"

15"s can use the 60w for charging, but a slower la of course. im not sure if can use the 85W on 13" or not

btw, since the current MBPs miniDP port can support audio, if we use the older miniDP-to-HDMI cable, can transfer audio too? or need new kind of miniDP cable?

@izact Apparently there isnt a step by step guide after unboxing your macbook but the first thing you should do is to do battery calibration for your first time charge then you could go install all those softwares that you need... You can look through the pinned threads or read previous pages from this thread for battery calibration not too many pages backwards =D

@linuxskate Why do you think your logic board is dead? What verion is your MBP?

Added on April 26, 2010, 12:45 pmYea software update is a must do first =D and gratz on your new MBP.. Share some pictures here =D

hey guis,

i just got my macbook (c2d 2.0ghz) from machines to check,
the mb is already like...3 years old?

now they diagnose and say the fan is broken (thus random shutdown) and the keyboard broken (top case, can't type shiat)
all those fix need around 600++, so....what would you do?

1. fix the damn mb, with 600++
2. sell it...for like..how much?
3. burn it

depends what does rm3000 mean to u. if not much, rm3.6k can get new macbook... or mbp13 with edu price. the upgrade seems worth it to me

if 3k is too much to add on top of rm600, then fix lah. if sell, uhh...1k? not sure

i think this really making me go crazy, last time bought it around 5k , now the lowest mb/mbp is around 3.5 / 4k
at first if the topcase/keyboard is not spoilt then i plan to upgrade 1, sell off this 1, but now is all half half

sigh.
what would you do? is 600 for an old machine worth it?
