Olight M20(R5) with side switch Advanced digital power management system for best smooth and even brightness during battery life time • Operation -·Turn On/Off The Power Pressing the tail cap switch will turn on/off the power. -·Switch Mode Pressing the side switch when power-on cycles modes through low, medium, high, strobe. -·Direct Strobe Access Pressing the side button when power-off activates strobe mode directly Wat do u think ?? I think 1 switch is enough to done all job I can change mode easily , i dun need aditional switch & i find the side switch pretty ugly on the top of the body .... |

Awesome work pseudoblue - good to be in V4!
Does anyone here in M'sia have experience with M@g hotwires? I.e. Mag85/Mag11/Mag09? I'm already running a WA1185 in my Seraph on 3xIMR18500 and it's awesome bright (I'd guess about 1500 bulb lumens, maybe 900 OTF - and I love it floody) but it gets way too hot to hold after a minute of use! So, I've got a Mag2D on the way ready to mod into a Mag85 as well as a Mag09 (Using FiveMega's 1909 bulb for > 2000 bulb lumens!). I was just curious if anyone here has played with these hotwire M@gs and how they compare to what they have. I just hope my 2 packages from US don't go missing... (Already lost 2 packages in the past few months) |

QUOTE(csshih @ Apr 13 2010, 04:29 AM) (at higher drive currents, I believe the AW cell would be 2.4Ah, too!) I believe so too..QUOTE(csshih @ Apr 13 2010, 04:29 AM) so.. to get 4 hours, it must be some sort of non-flat runtime! Or combined runtime.Though, honestly, that may not be too bad of a thing, seeing as only a drop in ~40% is extremely noticeable. I believe it'll go for 2.5 hours or so. Let the light rest for an hour to have the battery voltage rebound, then switch on again, but yeap, at 40% output and dropping. Then, let it rebound again and switch on, 20% output and dropping, collect data.. WOW 4 HOURS!!!! Same with the 600 hours Rookiedaddy was "amazed" at! lol Olight might calculate their runtime way differently then we actually expect from the standards. I honestly don't think you'll get straight ~280-320 lumens for 4 hours out of an AW 18650. QUOTE(uncle wong @ Apr 13 2010, 09:57 AM) Wat do u think ?? To my liking, i prefer one switch though. But there are others that will find this UI very useful for them. It's up to your preference though. I think 1 switch is enough to done all job I can change mode easily , i dun need aditional switch & i find the side switch pretty ugly on the top of the body .... Olight's M30 designed the side switch close to the tailcap switch, which can still allow one thumb operation. I haven't seen the M20 R5 yet... |

Hi all. Newbie incoming...
Was directed to this thread by a fellow cpf member... thanks alantch. Not much experience w/ Mag85, but I do have a FM85 I bought off Fivemega years ago. Its running on 3 x AW C-cells. It gets pretty hot too. Hot enough to char the chrome bezel slightly. Can show you if you're interested. Am now trying to lego together a pocket rocket like your seraph... just waiting for some more incoming parts. Arghh... the wait... sucks... Welcome scalez and hope you can make it to our gatherings.
It has always been fun. Rare chance to play and touch and feel a whole lot of different lights. |

so no more MC-E Maelstroms... no more wait... no more hype... no more myth... wonder if the XP-G version still coming
QUOTE(4sevens) ... Yes we canned MC-E (M500) simply because it's lack of efficiency. The LED's been around for a while and it hasn't kept up in efficiency. So this thread is not really relevant anymore - but I didn't start this thread. ... |

Hehe, I think they're focussing more on the SST-90s
I did thought the M500 won't make it to the shelves, it has been too long already and it's last years news. If the final product made it 2nd quarter even, it doesn't have the edge anymore. I'm also thinking the G500 won't make it too. Unless we see an impressive difference from the Quark Turbo 123^2.... 1.5A max? wide and deep reflector for outstanding throw? We have to wait and see |

When I read the datasheets again, I came across these on the 2nd paragraph...
XP-G: XLamp XP-G LEDs are the ideal choice for lighting applications where high light output and maximum efficacy are required, such as flashlights, head-mounted lighting, bicycle lighting, solar-powered lighting and other battery-powered lighting applications. And some noted in cpf that it is not meant for flashlights! LOL! (and the green tint bla bla bla). Well it is bright. MX-6: The XLamp MX-6 LED brings high performance and quality of light to a wide range of lighting applications, including linear lighting, LED light bulbs, fluorescent retrofits and retail-display lighting. Could this be the high CRI version? Cause, retail-display usually prefers warm halogen bulbs right.. For those who have taken deeper interests in tints, I still think the XR-E's tint is much better on flashlights, cool and neutral. Spotted a TK20 torture test! But no pictures, it was just a reply from a CPF thread, so here it is:
QUOTE(Jash) I got a TK20 just yesterday to beat the crap out of to see how tough it really is. I dropped it a half dozen times on concrete from 3-7 feet. Went for a walk and chucked the thing as far a I could, onto gravel. Threw it down onto gravel, chucked it against a tree, jumped on it and the thing never gave in. It only stopped once because the tail cap came loose. Tightened it up and away it went. I'm going to buy another so I can have one without scratches and dents all over it. This ones going in the tool box. The tint is awesome! Think incan glow. It's not that bright, but I can see things in more detail than lights with more output that have a cool white tint. |

Congratz rookiedaddy you're the first in Malaysia to own an Fenix E10. I think in the whole of Asia as well since many supplier does not carry stock of this model yet.
Lego with Quark 123x2 tailcap. But the E10 tailcap does not fit Quark. Fenix TK45 - Prototype Pics This post has been edited by gadgetworld2u: Apr 14 2010, 08:58 PM |
