Anybody getting King Arthur?

Metascore of 79 out of 100 seems to be tempting.

I got it during Xmas sales and overall it was a disappointment.

Balance is totally out of control and basically infantry is useless and archers are not using bows but M16.

Sorcery has either some totally useless spells or totally overpowered ones, not much middle ground.

Campaign is hard as hell and again balance out of control, you end up having to fights fulls stacks of armies spawning pretty much all the times with your very limited resources.
And God forbid you go out of the path the developers planned, you could trigger armies you have basically no chance of beating etc.

I heard they tried to balance things out a little bit in a latest patch but I still think it will not be enough.

Campaign has some okey storyline elements (that's one of the few thing that is saving the game in my opinion) but it would be hard to totally mess up if you use Arthur legend as baselines...

Price is not so expensive either but it's not a game I would personally really recommend.

This is seriously bloody lazy of sega. No doubt some of these games are classics, but you would expect that with these games on steam they would integrate online play, steam cloud or steam achievements? lazy console port anyone?

Added on June 2, 2010, 2:00 pmfunnily enough, to add to my point about SEGA being lazy, Streets of rage (and Golden axe from the steam sega package) is already available on xboxlive arcade with network play, achievements and so on.

quite disappointed when i browse through the list and see no Bare Knuckle.

I bought the DOW2 gold pack and Sins and now King Arthur.

Cheese, have you figured out how do i find you in impulse? I'm kinda good in Sins. Been playing it alot in pirated version.

Kian, Arthur is good. Its like TW but with good story and superb music. The campaign is much better than TW although battle falters a little for me. Overall the archer m16 thing is not true. can be easily countered. Its like light infantry spam in ETW/NTW. Good against noobs but if you're good then its okay. I bought it.

I dont really use Impulse,other than updating Sins.

I rarely play Sins these days,as it takes too much time to play 1 game.

I was talking from a single player perspective, I never touched the multi.

In solo archers are simply too devastating and normal infantry simply too useless.
I tried an army with maybe 5-6 archers units and enemies units were simply "vanishing" each time they all fired a volley.

Campaign is "okey" (again they are using Arthur's chronicles, not like they could really go wrong from a story telling point of view...) but very unbalanced and enemies are more or less spamming armies much more powerful than the ones you get, especially at the beginning of the game. I personally enjoyed the multiple side quests and choices you had to make in the campaign, this was by far the best aspect of the game for me.

For me it was a game with some very good potential but they dropped the ball on the balance which make the game go from enjoyable to a pain in the butt to finish in solo
